    Definitely the right strategic plan - lots of sustainable cardio, relatively normal (minus the egg) food consumption, with a binge meal planned for the end. As you said at the end, more hydration/electrolytes would have helped. I also wonder if starting the clock after a prolonged rest (mess your sleep schedule up for a few days, then sleep for about 15 hours, then stay up for 24 hours straight for the challenge) would help? A few extra hours to spread out the intensity of the cardio may have helped.

I have to applaud you both firstly for your journeys and accomplishments thus far. Its truly inspiring. Not only are you hilarious with a dry and quick witted sense of humour BUT you love Top Gun, Airwolf and Street Hawk from what I've picked up so far. Epic. The banter between yourself and Jen plus "the kid" is brilliant 👏🏼 The point of my comment is to thank you personally for inspiring ME in to starting a fitness journey as I have let myself go a bit over the years and ashamed to say at 42 years old and 5"11 I'm tipping 19st 2Ib on the scales as at yesterday SO ITS TIME to remedy this. I have to walk before I jog and run so appreciate my journey will be hard and long (insert Mark joke here 😂) but you have demonstrated it can be done and now I wanna piece of that pie (not the one we eat as that's what got me in to this pickle) so THANK YOU MARK AND JEN and I'm happy to have discovered your channel and am now subscribed. I appreciate there are lots of comments that you have to read through so am not expecting a reply or mention etc I just wanted to get this revelation to you so that you can feel good in the knowledge that YOUR knowledge IS HELPING your viewers. love the video, great fun to watch, my record is burning 18.000kcal in one day when i cycled for 24h crossing Portugal North to South (740km with 9000m elevation), not sure how much i actually ate, but i guess around 10-12.000 but mostly liquid energy drinks as nutrition :-)

    One of the best videos you have done Mark - I sent it to my PT! Am currently working to loose 30 kgs and realising it’s so much more about diet than exercising hard. It took a PT/nutritionist to help show me that unfortunately after years of blasting it on ZWIFT then overeating after lol - oh well - it at least gives you big legs and lungs!

    I always wonder how accurate those calorie tracking watches really are. For example on a day i take my adhd medication my heart rate will be higher, so the watches think im burning a lot more calories, which definitely isnt always the case

    • @defeqel6537
      @defeqel6537 Год назад

      I think they are relatively accurate for relatively lean people. At least my old Polar watch overestimates the resting energy consumption of fat, so I just put in my estimated lean weight (lower end of healthy BMI) and that seems relatively accurate.

    Hi Mark! I started running a couple months ago and your channel has been a huge, huge help and motivation in this journey. However, I think I'm developing a nasty case of metatarsalgia, are you perhaps planning to do (or have you already made) a video about foot care or the management of plantar injuries in the future? Thanks for all your work, man

    I really enjoyed this video Mark. You not only put a lot of hard work on your exercise, but also on the making of the video…. If there is one thing in particular that I learned from this is that you (me) 🤦🏻‍♂️ just cannot outrun a bad diet, it is sad but true😢. Thanks for your hard work on this video, we love you man. ❤ 💪.

    Excellent. I found easiest calories during recent med treatment when I was told to put on weight was creamy ice cream (1k for a 480 mil tub). Extra thumbs up for the Daily Mail gag as it’s a filthy rabble rousing paper I wouldn’t wipe my arse on. Bravo.

    The half an egg still left over when you hit 10k kcal burned means you were in extreme deficit. I’d imagine your electrolytes were really low. Also since you’re pretty lean, your body didn’t have reserves to handle the energy deficit.

    Just thought of something. The "rest calories" of the Garmin are based on your typical daily calorie expenditure for your height/weight. But during the challenge you ate a lot more than usual. Your body had to process all this food, it must take quite a lot of energy to move several days worth of food around and digest it. I wonder how many more calories you actually burnt.

    When I saw your stress during sleep chart on your Garmin watch I could see what a bad night you had 😢,I hope you're ok now?as someone who is Autistic with a PHD in anxiety(according to the phycologist at my Autism assessment😂) I regularly suffer high stress levels during the night and wake up with a graph like that on my Garmin app and it sucks(I don't have excruciating cramps though) ,the next day is hard , you're completely drained,I admire what you achieved that day before it went pear shaped but please don't do it again, you're one of my favorite You tubers so I'd rather you didn't die 😢
