I think the problem is that when you have been going to Disney for years you noticed how much the quality of a lot of things has changed. They know the original population who used to go are aging out and the newer generation wont know there was a difference. So many things or quality have gone by the wayside.
This was a one and done for my family. We felt rushed, the room was chaotic, servers carried dirty dishes over our heads throughout out our entire meal and then dropped ketchup all over me and my son. Not only that, but the waiter who did it, did not even apologize. After the incident though he and others did continue to carry dirty/empty plates etc over our heads. The tables are far too close together... leave room for your staff to do their job properly! The fact that we paid over $400 to leave smelling like ketchup, I wouldn't even entertain going back. Of course this was our first time staying at the Poly and was the first night of our trip. Left us feeling anything but magical!
I think the availability of reservations and walk ups has more to do with the economy than the quality of food. Not everyone has that kind of money to drop on a meal, much less to go to WDW at all!
Most restaurants at WDW have little availability. Chef Mickeys is packed for Breakfast and Dinner every day. There may be slower times, but Magic Kindom is always crowded. People save and use CCs to pay. There will always be people going.
The change in cancellation policy. Now you can cancel up to 2 hours before. And then people can grab them. People who have never been love it, and cannot understand why people are complaining.
I agree. Ohana has a family feel with a fancy price tag. It doesnt have the price to appeal to families anymore and doesn't have the environment to appeal to couples and adult travelers. At least, thats how I see it.
Hey there!!!! I agree with you, BRING BACK the skewers!!!! Also, BRING BACK the 3 dipping sauces. PLEASE Disney!!!! I remember the woman that played the ukelele vividly. Do you remember before they started serving the bread pudding, they used to give this fresh pineapple with a delicious caramel sauce?
So many restaurants’ quality and serving sizes have never recovered from the Covid years, all over the country. I rarely go out anymore and that used to be a favorite pastime with friends. 😞
Thanks for another great review. I always wanted to try it but could never get reservations. It looked ok but I have seen the food look better in years past. Thanks again for a great review. - Randy
We felt the same way you did about this dinner in March 2024. We used a dining credit and I did feel it was worth it while going that route. We worried if our younger children would eat this food, and our server was extremely kind and offered from the beginning to bring out chicken nuggets, fries or Mac and cheese. It was wonderful! The appetizer alone is a meal, the salad and bread was a great starter and the dessert is iconic! Overall it was a wonderful experience! Loved your review! 🥳
I agree with you, Kristen. When your food is quality, you do not mind paying the cost. Just think, for a family of 4 with children under 9 years of age, this meal is $200.00+. That is only ONE FREAKING MEAL!! If your vacation at WDW is 3 - 5 days, $200+ for one family meal is a fortune. You will be spending well over $1,000.00+ for food to dine out. The food cost alone is a big bite of your budget. I'm not familiar with the meal plan and its savings, but the sense I get from it is that you need to buy into it to get the discounts. It seems to me that eating outside the parks may be more affordable. From the many Disney vloggers, it seems that creating a WDW family memory is VERY expensive. You may want to create memories differently & in a different location. 😊 ❤
🎯...geez, I couldn't agree more. Overpriced & completely overrated. I lived in Orlando for less than a year back in the 90's. I couldn't wait to get back to New England
My wife and I were there for our 50 th anniversary. First time and loved almost everything! Best of the meal was the noodles, potstickers, bread, shrimp and customer service and satisfaction! Wait staff and helper were fantastic!!!
The look on his face at 13:00 👀, I had to watch again. Cracked me up! You are also making me want to go to Ohana. I haven’t been since my oldest son was 8, he’s now almost 32. It’s been a minute.
I'm with you - I would rather eat that steak at Flying Fish than pretty much any meal at WDW. Thanks for your honest reviews! You're one of my favorite vloggers!
The ending on this one was so peaceful LOL just chillin on the swing at the Poly Beach- you looked super content! 🙂Glad it was a good meal- We haven't been for a few years, and now Im craving it! 😅
😢 miss the old O*Hana and we will.not be returning until it is back to what it was....from the great Meat skewers,to other great appetizers and remember the pineapple with caramel and bananas foster bread pudding😢
I never had a chance to eat there, but did the Luau twice and really enjoyed it. Also miss the big waterfall and foliage that was in the Lobby. Believe Disney has been on a downward spiral since then.
Thanks for the updated review. We’re trying it for the first time for a special birthday so I’ll take it for what it is! Sounds like I won’t be adding it to my regulars though!
I agree it’s a great use of the dining plan credit! My husband and I went there in August on the dining plan and each of our meals with our drink was about $80. The dining plan includes an alcoholic beverage so it’s a great deal on the dining plan! Otherwise it’s quite pricey!
I have never tried the Ohana noodles, but I found a copycat recipe that I'm going to try. Hopefully, it really is similar to the Disney World noods. Sometimes, a girl just needs time with a good nood! And, maybe a couple of potstickers! I always love your videos, Kristen! You've established yourself as an honest food reviewer, and I'm here it. The meat mini skillets look a little sad. Interesting choice on the presentation. Have a great week, and stay safe from the storms! 💜
Thanks for always tuning in Susan! Just went out to the store to get some stuff to prepare this morning. Hoping it's not as bad as Helene was for some people! Let me know how the copycat recipe is.
The only time I've had struggles with getting a reservation has been for breakfast. Ive always been able to snag reservations for dinner, just maybe not for the exact time that we wanted.
When we went in mid-March, our bread was warm, there was way more honey on our butter, and we absolutely weren't rushed, and we got several returns of more food as we asked. Sounds like it's been spotty? Our reservation was at a prime time (in between the main course and the dessert, the whole restaurant paused to watch the fireworks).
The last i went was before pandemic and it was great, food and atmosphere, definitely didn't leave hungry. I havent returned because of lots of reviews like yours. Id rather spend money elsewhere.
I definitely agree! We vacation in Disney every summer and Ohana was something we always looked forward to. Hula dancers, crowd inclusion, leis, it was a great time! However, the last few summers things just weren’t the same. It was really just like any other restaurant experience. Very disappointing. After, 25 years of annual Disney World vacations I think we are finally done. The entire experience has changed. It’s all about money now. You pay all this money to get into the park, pay for fast passes then pay for the bigger rides on top of that. The prices are astronomical and it just doesn’t have the same family feel as it used to. It’s very sad what has happened to Disney.
We were there for dinner yesterday and absolutely loved it can't understand the hype over the noodles though no better than I have at home in UK but the food in general was gorgeous
Wow. You are so right. Those meats arriving as they did - plastic "skillets"??? It's so annoying when Disney cheaps-out on things like this! Bring back the darn skewers! And the sauces too!
just ate at that restaurant at New Orleans/Riverside resort. that AYCE plate was bangin' with brisket, sausage, ribs, etc. for $36! didn't know they even HAD an AYCE offering Anywhere at WDW anymore for under $55.
My grandparents still have their ticket stubs from the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue in 1979. Back then, it cost $15 per adult and $9 per child. For their family of 4, they paid $50 for dinner and a show! Unreal compared to today’s prices 😅
Kristen I haven't eaten at OHana. I probably won't. We just ate on our previous trip at Woody's Roundup Rodeo BBQ. That was a good meal and a fun experience. So based on what you said about having a fun meal at OHana or a special occasion meal, I'll go with Woody's at Hollywood Studios. I don't normally eat at the expensive sit down restaurants. We did eat at Cape may at the Beach Club Resort two years ago and I really loved that meal. I'm so old school that it's hard for me to justify the prices of food at Disney. Even the quick service prices are higher than they should be. But that's just me. LOL. I said at the beginning that I probably won't eat at OHana, but never say never. I might one day.
We used to go to ohana every trip, but did not like the changes to the menu that happened. A year or so ago was last time we ate there because we were so disappointed in the food . We didn’t go this year and won’t on our upcoming trip either. They need to go back to original salad, dipping sauces, skewers…and yes the original bread pudding with banana foster sauce! I don’t like sickly sweet pineapple topping they now have on it.
Had a wonderful experience dinning at Ohana last month. Food was hot, fresh and so delish! Entertainment was enchanting. Will always stop in!!! Thanks for the review.
We ate at Ohana last week for the first time since pandemic and will likely never return. It was just so disappointing. It was an old favorite of ours that we hit on every trip down. I am thinking of trying Sebastian’s Bistro next trip as our Ohana substitute. Have you been there?
We were at Ohanas during Irma hurricane and it went down hill from there. It's good, but not worth the price. I'd rather eat at Bomas for cheaper! Is the restaurant Shutters still around? They had this amazing Bread Pudding with a Fireball sauce and it compared to the Ohana Bread pudding.
I’ve been to WDW many many times and to Ohana specifically over a dozen times, both pre and post Covid… the changes they’ve made there are the most disappointing changes that still persist. 😢
One of the things I've noticed about myself is that, since Covid, my tolerance of ambient noise is not what it used to be. Noisy restaurant! I also don't like that after the salad, the rest of the meal was basically brown. I need color. "We eat with our eyes" is true.
@Tinable you will love it we love Kristen we met her last week her honesty is great but we think this a bit harsh on the food it was very nice and you can order as much as you want yes we were on the dining plan but we would've paid all day long for it
We had the noddles, potstickers and wings at Tambu Lounge in December. They were delicious! I wish I could share the picture here… I do miss Ohana for Dinner but we stopped going to Ohana about 8 years ago because it was too pricey.
Thanks for the tip about the Tambu Lounge Kristen. There's no way my wife, and I could eat $124 worth of food, but we would definitely enjoy a sampling of O'hana's delectables. We will surely visit the Lounge on our upcoming January trip to Disney. BTW, I see that the lounge doesn't have the noodles on their menu now. Maybe if I grovel a little they will feel sorry for me, and bring out a bowl just to stop me from whining. 😀
Hi Kristin, I find myself not agreeing with more and more recently but you nailed this review of Ohana. Apps still good but meats not good since Covid. I’m with you gotta bring back the skewers. Last time we went I felt sorry for waitress who was trying so hard to sell the entrée portion of meal to no avail. Love your videos, appreciate we can rely on new one every couple of days
The quality of O'hana really seems to depend on who is working that day. I also feel like when they have bad management, the quality of the food and service go down. There is truth in the say "you can tell the mood of the cook by how the food comes out". As long as they have a decent manager, that doesn't piss off the employees, O'hana's is fire.
We have reservations for breakfast on Wednesday. . . I'm in Texas now. Monitoring the weather. . . May have to cancel. Does it flood in the Disney bubble????
I’ve always wanted to eat here but never any availability. I see you did a reservation for 4, but you said while eating you were there solo. Can you just make however many people and then tell the host they won’t be attending? Confused
My mom and I stayed 4 nights at the Poly last month and we had to cancel our Ohana reservations due to our flight out being too close. We ate at the Kona Cafe and it was amazing! The Big Kahuna burger was the best burger I have ever had. We also ate at Steak 71 the night before. The only thing that disappointed us was the breakfast burrito at Capt Cooks. Just skip it.
We love ‘Ohana but our server in June was awful. She took forever to come around for refills. The person working with her was so much more helpful. Did appreciate the to go containers.
Ohana has been a go to for us as well for many years. My wife and I were there last week and at at Ohana and we were disappointed. The noodles weren't as good as they used to be, the chicken isn't the chimichurri chicken any more and it's not as good, the steak was just OK and the shrimp were bland. The bread was fantastic as usual and the bread pudding was very good, although not as good as Sebastian's Bistro's bread pudding. Biergarten is my new favorite followed closely by Boma. I hope Ohana returns to its previous glory but I'm not holding my breath.
Yes it’s not as good but it went from a 10 out of 10 to a 9 out of 10. Still worth going too. If you never went during the table to table shish kebab time you won’t notice a difference. BUT the salad dressing changed for the better. I love it so much more now.
Shell on shrimp slows people down from eating a ton of shrimp. If you have to peel it you eat less than if it was already peeled. Unless you from Louisiana, then peeling no problem!
Yes it’s not as good but it went from a 10 out of 10 to a 9 out of 10. Still worth going too. If you never went during the table to table kebab time you won’t notice a difference. BUT the salad dressing changed for the better. I love it so much more now. Honestly, I’ve never had the bad experiences. Other people are complaining about and I’ve been there four or five times since Covid never been rushed, etc..
I do believe Disney World needs a proper authentic Brazilian restaurant gaucho style. Think there’s one or two on international somewhere the local one in my area area is amazing every time back to my age on point Epcot hasn’t had a expansion on the original oral showcase ever there was a rumor Brazilian one for a long time. Maybe that should happen put a Garo restaurant in there. We do gangbusters every day all day.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ya Kw-brianG. 😂😂
The waitress took it upon herself to put the sweet sauce on your dessert? Wow. What if the person did not want all that sweet sauce on it but only just a bit of sauce
I have never been even though I’ve stayed at the Polynesian more than once. I just didn’t think it looked good- the meat. I don’t have family memories to make me want to go. I’m glad to see your video because I will check out the Tambu lounge.
Husband and I went right before Covid and we really enjoyed the food but we could not eat enough to justify the cost (and I can eat A LOT). We've eliminated all the family style and buffets from our must-do lists.
I was supposed to eat at Ohana in less than hour from now but had to cancel trip because of bad weather moving in. I love Ohana. Steak is my least favorite but everything else is really good.
Aww, that makes me sad! I loved them bringing the meats around Brazilian steakhouse style, and the chicken used to be amazing. I did get a copycat recipe so I can make it at home- it is not a teriyaki.
That’s us in the background at 2:45 visiting from 🇦🇺! We were too shy to say hello, and you were busy filming 😊
You should have said Hi. My son works at Disney!
I think the problem is that when you have been going to Disney for years you noticed how much the quality of a lot of things has changed. sounds like you made it up tbh
Yes. That ukulele player has been there for years and years! I love it!!!

Quality over economy. Disney is imploding. It’s becoming Six Flags over Orlando.
Disney is becoming Six Flags over Orlando.
“Eat out of the skillet because I can” LOL
Love your reviews always so honest!!
Thank you
When I'm alone I make the rules haha thanks Donna!
We ate at Ohana for the first time about a week ago. It was divine! Absolutely loved it! We did have yhe dining plan, so the price tag was worth it!
GO DISNEY GO!!! What a feast at Ohana, great food, service and atmosphere!
So many restaurants’ quality and serving sizes have never recovered from the Covid years, all over the country. I rarely go out anymore and that used to be a favorite pastime with friends. 😞
Great job describing everything! Bring back those skewers!! 😀
Msg!
In the noodles lol that was what makes them so addictive. Thanks for the video 😊
My family always loved Ohana too. I definitely would go back again! Thanks, Kristen!
Enjoy your videos! You, your friends & family are such fun, real people. Thanks for the Disney info 👍🏼😊
Thanks for another great review. I always wanted to try it but could never get reservations. It looked ok but I have seen the food look better in years past. Thanks again for a great review. - Randy
I agree those potstickers are the best and I need my own bowl of them at Tambu lounge. 🥟🥟🥟
We felt the same way you did about this dinner in March 2024. We used a dining credit and I did feel it was worth it while going that route. So glad you guys had a great meal! This time around, it was pretty solid for me. But I feel it tends to be inconsistent!
The look on his face at 13:00 👀, I had to watch again. Cracked me up!
You are also making me want to go to Ohana. I haven’t been since my oldest son was 8, he’s now almost 32. It’s been a minute.
“I wouldn’t waste the room in my stomach” 😂😂
I'm with you - I would rather eat that steak at Flying Fish than pretty much any meal at WDW. Thanks for your honest reviews! You're one of my favorite vloggers!
Excellent review and information! Thank you.
11 minutes in and I’m glad to see things looking better again!
It was definitely better than my past few meals there!
Agreed!! And bring back the Banana bread pudding!!!!
I miss the skewers, bananas and pineapple..miss the fun atmosphere with the music and coconut races!!
You still get the same meat. You still get the same appetizes. You still get the same bread pudding, when’s the last time you were there?
I never had a chance to eat there, but did the Luau twice and really enjoyed it. Also miss the big waterfall and foliage that was in the Lobby. Believe Disney has been on a downward spiral since then.
Love your Maui shirt
I was there in 2019 with daughter and grandkids. We loved that Stitch would come around to the tables. Stitch was my daughters favorite.
Awesome! Characters are still there but for breakfast only
Thanks for the updated review. We’re trying it for the first time for a special birthday so I’ll take it for what it is! Sounds like I won’t be adding it to my regulars though!
Never been. I have visited Tambu Lounge many times, and my extensive collection of backscratchers shows it!
I’m so jealous! Sitting here with Covid wishing for a bite of your bread pudding!
$40 for kids 3 and up is outrageous. Would never go there with children. $62 for an adult meal is also pricey but not out of line. Nice review😊
I agree it’s a great use of the dining plan credit! My husband and I went there in August on the dining plan and each of our meals with our drink was about $80. The dining plan includes an alcoholic beverage so it’s a great deal on the dining plan! Otherwise it’s quite pricey!
Great vid. Sorta miss that charm it used to have and those skewers....nonetheless it still looks great.
Be watching the weather, sweetie! Stay safe❤❤❤
'Ohana is still our must visit restaurant for every Disney visit
I went in April for my birthday and I agree with every point you made!

Oh come on the noodles are a staple!
@wrightdownmainstreet we met you in epcot and we love you but the dumplings were better
Wow. You are so right. Those meats arriving as they did - plastic "skillets"??? It's so annoying when Disney cheaps-out on things like this! Bring back the darn skewers! And the sauces too!
Ambiance is important. Ohana is iconic. They can keep the meats if there are no dipping sauces.
The skewers were part of the overall experience. I say bring them back.
It’s literally the same they just put them in a bowl.

To be fair, that’s about 217 dollars in todays money. So prices haven’t changed all that much

I'd rather have my food brought right to my table than watch it be traipsed around the restaurant before it gets to me.
You don’t get it and are boring and part of the reason Disney sucks now
5:28 I felt rushed at Akershus so I am hesitant to book those character meals now
We ate at Ohana last week for the first time since pandemic and will likely never return. It was just so disappointing. It was an old favorite of ours that we hit on every trip down. I am thinking of trying Sebastian’s Bistro next trip as our Ohana substitute. Have you been there?

Agreed. I feel Boma is the best bang for your buck at WDW.
Ate there last week… the bread was very moist and yummy😊
We were there last Saturday.. sorry we missed you😊
the place is a cool vibe and that is part of the price i enjoy it.
We have reservations for breakfast on Wednesday. . . I'm in Texas now. Monitoring the weather. . . May have to cancel. Does it flood in the Disney bubble????
Every storm is different, not sure how this one will be. Hoping it ends up not causing too much damage 🤞🏻
I’ve always wanted to eat here but never any availability. I see you did a reservation for 4, but you said while eating you were there solo. Can you just make however many people and then tell the host they won’t be attending? Confused
I didn’t make a res for 4, I was just showing what was available for a party of 4
Make a reservation ahead of time, not last minute. It’s not that hard.
@@WolfMan439 well just checked through Nov 15 for a party of 2 and found nothing. What is “not last minute”
They changed the chicken? I remember a green sauce last summer? I loved it ☹️
Yeah, they had a roasted bone in chicken with a green sauce a few years ago I believe. It’s now a boneless chicken thigh
Ohana is my favorite! Breakfast and dinner has always been delicious and love the atmosphere! Want to go back already 🥰
Looks like the food came from the Thai station at a mediocre Vegas buffet. Salad looks very fresh, though.
We used add more magic to automatically find and book our reservation. And its free unless they 100% book it for you.
We love ‘Ohana but our server in June was awful. She took forever to come around for refills. The person working with her was so much more helpful. Did appreciate the to go containers.
I was able to get to go containers as well! They tend to be able to give 1 container per person.
@@wrightdownmainstreet We got another order of pot stickers and wings to take back to our room 😂.
Before the noodles, they had the most delcious au gratin potatoes.
Yes it’s not as good but it went from a 10 out of 10 to a 9 out of 10. Still worth going too. If you never went during the table to table shish kebab time you won’t notice a difference. BUT the salad dressing changed for the better. I love it so much more now.
When I go to Ohana I ask for a skillet of only Potstickers those things are so good
Shell on shrimp slows people down from eating a ton of shrimp. If you have to peel it you eat less than if it was already peeled. Unless you from Louisiana, then peeling no problem!

Other people are complaining about and I’ve been there four or five times since Covid never been rushed, etc..

tried Ohana's for the first time this year and was really disappointed. as you said FF is great and ill be going there next trip
When we stay at poly I get it delivered room service noodles pot stickers and wings!
Can you still do that? I’m pretty sure they got rid of room service at the Disney resorts (except Grand Flo)
I leave there in pain from eating too much. It is good and we enjoy relaxing after a long day at the park and just eating.
I have never been even though I’ve stayed at the Polynesian more than once. I just didn’t think it looked good- the meat. I don’t have family memories to make me want to go. I’m glad to see your video because I will check out the Tambu lounge.
For the real "Disney Springs" Experience just go to Winter Park near Rollins College. 10 times better food and atmosphere for about 2/3rds the price.
Husband and I went right before Covid and we really enjoyed the food but we could not eat enough to justify the cost (and I can eat A LOT). We've eliminated all the family style and buffets from our must-do lists.
So hard to get dinner there. :( Scored Boma though
We ate there in 2019 and it was amazing, 2023 we returned and it was poor and freezing!
I tried the France restaurant in Epcot. Worth every 200 $ the food was amazing n it make you full
