To the people mentioning all these QBs that “got paid”, you gotta remember, that a majority of them were 1st rounders. Teams have a smaller window to decide when they will commit and sign a long term contract. Purdy was Mr Irrelevant, which allows the team to see how he plays to his 5th year option. It’s like buying race cars, without looking under the hood. In the first round everyone wants the Ferrari’s and Lamborghini’s but don’t know if they’ll perform like one. So within 3 years you have to decide to keep the car or risk getting a new one. Purdy was like a Hyundai, he has won a substantial amount of races, and won some pretty big races too. But does he have a crazy engine that no one seen or knew of which caused him to fall to the 7th or is he a product of a great mechanic (team) making him look better? As a business major Im very interested in the next CBA if the owners present something like the rookie salary for QBs. A metric based on multiple stats (QBR TD TD:INT ratio completions %) and use that to determine QB worth for their pay day

i think a lot of people are completely blowing the 49ers season as a whole out of the water in terms of panic. The thing they refuse to talk about this year for the 49ers is while they have been dealing with some serious injuries on field, the 9ers have also been dealing with an extremely tragic off field year too. Two of their players had Kids pass away. Ricky Pearsall was shot before the season started. It has been an absolutely tragic season for the team, and you can see the fatigue and hurt they're trying to play through. (Thoughts and prayers for the Williams Family and Ward family, a parent should never have to bury a child). We should also be thanking god the ricky is alive, let alone well enough to be playing football. Things like that affect the entire organization from top to bottom, not just one or two players. This is a 49ers team that is about as low as you could possibly be in life, and i do not believe that the years product is anywhere close to what the 49ers are capable of. Teams have a smaller window to decide when they will commit and sign a long term contract. Purdy was Mr Irrelevant, which allows the team to see how he plays to his 5th year option.

i think a lot of people are completely blowing the 49ers season as a whole out of the water in terms of panic. The thing they refuse to talk about this year for the 49ers is while they have been dealing with some serious injuries on field, the 9ers have also been dealing with an extremely tragic off field year too. Two of their players had Kids pass away. Ricky Pearsall was shot before the season started. It has been an absolutely tragic season for the team, and you can see the fatigue and hurt they're trying to play through. (Thoughts and prayers for the Williams Family and Ward family, a parent should never have to bury a child). We should also be thanking god the ricky is alive, let alone well enough to be playing football. Things like that affect the entire organization from top to bottom, not just one or two players. This is a 49ers team that is about as low as you could possibly be in life, and i do not believe that the years product is anywhere close to what the 49ers are capable of. Even without a few star players.

@ I opened my eyes and what do I see 5-7 when he doesn’t have an mvp candidate running back and 3 other pro bowlers on his offense. Take Jayden Daniels for example. Winning record all with a team with a god awful defense and no pro bowlers on offense. That’s what a great QB looks like.

Purdy is accurate so they absolutely could do that, Kyle wants to run the ball as that’s what he does. They do need to improve that O-Line though
@@marckusduverger9776 if that was true adjustments would have been made to feature his skill set because CMC has been hurt for most of the season. This is Purdy’s 3rd year in the league, the coaching staff has a pretty good assessment of his abilities.

I agree with Canty to an extent - The problem is there are QB's around Purdys level that haven't even been to a SB but are getting paid ridiculous money (Love, T law, Tua)
At this point, 9ers should just get a QB from some community college and pay him 20/hr. This would solidify Mina and Canty's point.
I think Purdy takes a team friendly contract for $25M. Purdy is the type of player that just wants to win. He knows if he takes a smaller contract they can afford to help him win.

The problem is the NFL places so much value on the QB that they honestly became overvalued. And now owner have to play good QBs(DAK) record setting contracts. So by the standards the NFL set Prudy should be the highest paid QB by the time he signs
