    Muting the NPC voices for the purpose of this video would have been preferable. Not only is it hard to focus on your voice, but some people don't want to hear the dialogue unless they are playing the game themselves.

    Someone has probably mentioned this but Gravesinger has been nerfed a bit. Many of CRPGbro's builds focus on Gravesinger.

    Reviewing some of the archetypes, I like the cool factor they have put into the archetypes, but honestly, they don't seem mechanically that good. The bloodseeker, for example, loses 10 slayer talents (which are really good), in exchange for really cool and flavourful abilities, but aside from moderately powerful personal buffs, a bite attack and a capstone largely obsolete due to profane ascension, you are getting abilities that simply are not worth using as standard actions that you have to do in place of your attacks.
    The blood cone and blood jet abilities, for example, seem like signature skills (the capstone specifically interacts with this), but even with the capstone, it maxes out at 135 damage on average, with a failed save. For these to be good, they would need to be swift actions, not standard actions, or at least a spell combat like mechanic. Failing that, the damage would need buffing enormously for it to be reasonable alternative to your full attack action. And its the second DLC in a row to introduce homebrewed archetypes that ignore profane ascension being in the game. This is particularly silly for a level 20 capstone. If you arent a legend, this will feel really bad, though to be fair, legend is a great option for this archetype given the loss of feats and the fact it cannot dual wield without investing in dexterity unlike other slayers (dual wielding is far less effective for legends as with 8 base attacks and the insane scaling with two handed power attack, two handers are a much better option). Maybe a 20 titanfighter/20 bloodseeker is a cool new option.
    A lot of effort has clearly gone into the magic deceiver, but honestly, with the very limited spell selection, a spell level cap of 6, no matter magic and very few spell slots, this is just not very good. Fusing magic is a really interesting mechanic, but you could just take favoured metamagic quickened and use the 9th level spell slots of the normal arcanist this archetype doesnt have to cast 2 6th level spells slots in 1 round. And that is hardly your best option as a standard full arcane caster.
    The uncapped spell damage for the 6th level spell slots does have some interesting potential (and if the single target spells become AOE when combined with AOE spells, this could be interesting with phantasmal killer for example), but its a lot easier to make a weird build or hellfire ray build work, for example, than try and salvage something useful out of this archetype. Virtually all the good utility spells are stripped from the spell selection, as are some of the best offensive and crowd control spells. No grease, sirocco, scorching ray, battering blast, hellfire ray and so on.
    It seems like a real shame to put so much effort into archetypes and not bother to tune them to be attractive options mechanically.
    Some archetypes are decent. The titanfighter is cool and seems like a reasonable option (I still think mutation warrior is better), and inciter is also a decent variant of skald that requires to you take a few extra rage powers and take it hit to lore skills in exchange for mild but useful debuffs and sneak attack. But neither spec is as creative as bloodseeker or magic deceiver.

    Opinion on Archetypes:
    -Sable Company Marine: It's an improvement, you have a full-scaling flying mount while giving up minimal or situational features, like favorite terrain, endurance, and camouflage.
    -Bladebound: Feels like a worse version of Arcane Rider, to be honest (Not a slight against the archetype, Arcane Rider is just very good) - on one hand, you're either locked into using a specific one-handed weapon(potentially replacing other better options) or have a non-mountable companion that you need to summon. All for the price of a bonus feat and Magus Arcana.
    -Mantis Zealot: Very good, all of the features that are given aren't useless, you get free feat progression with their specific weapon, permanent concealment that goes up to 60%, AC, Fast Healing, plus a stacking bleed effect added to your defensive ability. The loss of Medium and Heavy armor proficiency hurts a bit, but losing shield and martial weapons is whatever (If you're not duel-wielding Sawtooth Sabres why are you picking this archetype?)
    -Kinetic Sharpshooter: Seems like a better version of Kinetic Knight, and Kineticist in general. You lose fewer infusions, you gain a powerful ranged infusion and Kinetic Quiver along with the archetype's specific infusion options.
    -Magic Deceiver: The Archetype with the most potential, I think, requires more testing. It gives your Cha stat and skills more uses via helping you bypass resistance, getting additional spells, along with it being your main spell-casting ability. You lose arcane infusions, which don't really have many important features. Being locked down to a specific spellbook without getting additional spell slots, and losing arcane reservoir hurts. This feels like this should have been another class entirely.
    -Inciter: It's an improvement. You get sneak attacks, the entire party gets a sneak attack, AOE debuff, and resistance against mental effects that are the most common in the game, although, it does lose a bit of the skill monkey benefits that skalds have, a few rage powers and DR (Which you don't want to get hit as an Inciter in the first place).
    -Chelaxian Deva - This does seem like an improvement, but bards aren't exactly a good class. You give up your skill benefits, some other minor performances. And get a bonus in bluff checks, additional sonic damage both targetted and AOE, a haste effect that gives short-term fatigue once it is over, and a level drain aura.
    -Titan Fighter: Fun dps archetype, a good dip as well for some builds. You lose armor training, regular weapon training (this one hurts the most), some of your total BAB to gain the ability to wield two-handed weapons with one hand, power attack bonuses for "one-handed" weapons.
    -Bloodseeker: This one is my least favorite mechanically, I don't like the fact that you get a vulnerability to channel energy and give up ALL of your slayer talents, it might be boring but it's a good feature nonetheless. You get a free bite attack that gives temp HP and negative levels to your target, an untyped stacking buff for every enemy slain during a combat encounter, a swarm form (I don't know if you get the benefits of being a swarm type), and a few spell-like abilities.
    Living Grimoire - I like it. Makes your spellcasting int-based, and gives you a scaling one-handed weapon like that of a Warpriest that can be further enhanced either with casting Spells or Sacred Word at the cost of your Judgments and the regular way of applying bane. Both are good features, but their replacements aren't bad either.
    Drunken Master: Very nice. It's a monk that replenishes its Ki which is already good, and, while the Int penalty can get bad I don't remember there being that many or any enemies that drain your int specifically, so you're safe from being insta-killed. You get AC and hit bonuses from having ki points, can change Ki points for additional damage die, there are bonus ki abilities. In turn, there are the aforementioned int penalties, the loss of resistance to enchantment effects, immunity to diseases, and loss of diamond soul and diamond body ki powers.

    100% agree on voice acting, Its nice but waaaay to expensive. Wrath would be a very different game if it was fully voiced, no way the crusade councils would be as verbose.

    I have just seen that the magic deceiver is maxed out at level 6 spells with a significantly altered spell list. I had assumed it was the same spell list and progression as arcanist. Still, a high caster level mythic path combining chain lightening and caustic eruption with both ascendent elements and elemental barrage could be rather devastating.
    Lets say you are demon with ashmaker, robe of seven sins and bound of possiblity and the last azlanti necklace, whilst raging you will have a caster level of 30, and with aspect of the brimorak, +7 damage per dice roll. Your total upfront damage will be 60d6+420 +9d6 from elemental barrage, with another 15d6+105 damage for the next to rounds.
    Azata might be better for the number of times you can reset spell slots and class features, particularly if using spells that benefit from zippy magic, but demon is going to be the highest damage in a single round.
    The subclass features are quite interesting, but overall this seems a lot less powerful than I had originally imagined.

    I have been thinking about magic deceiver and it might have more potential than I initially thought. I think the biggest issues are the lack of buffing spells and the much more limited number of spell slots.
    However, the combination effects are fairly powerful, particularly when using combinations that combine powerful single target effects with AOE spells. You can combine chain lightening with phantasmal killer or greater targeted dispels, for example, which is actually on a par with 9th level spells pretty comfortably. Granted, the spell DC is 3 lower, but evocation spells get +4 from gear, and you will usually be able to convert your spells to this school, whilst still retaining the mind effecting tag to get bonuses to mind effecting spells to further boost your DCs.
    I think combining it with azata for zippy magic, favourable magic and ability resets is a really nice combo. All spell slots for the magic deceiver will be reset by heroes never surrender, and with second wind you can also reset your spell replenishment powers over and over again.
    But chain lightening targeting + favourable magic means the enemy has to save with disadvantage twice against any spells you combine it with, which coupled with extra gear that you can use to buff DCs, will give you a very scary pseudo weird which still does hefty damage on a successful save. It will also mean double targeted greater dispels and hefty damage in an AOE.
    And the chain lightening will not be level capped, so spell specialisation, robe of seven sins, ashmaker and so on, your version of chain lightening will be rather powerful even without metamagic, and you can similar combine it with a second uncapped nuke, which will also be doubled up. If you had say, caster level 25, you could cast a spell which does 100d6 in a party friendly AOE, with either lingering damage or a stun effect. With the last azlanti amulet, that would be increased by 200. You could also take a crossblooded dip for a net gain of around 78 damage after accounting for the reduction in caster level.
    But even pure (which would require multiple ascendant elements but also open up elemental barrage), you level 6 nukes are party friendly AOEs averaging 550 on a failed save, which is certainly not bad.
    The option to go devil lategame will give you decent infinitely spammable spells which is another decent option given your limited spell slots, though will mainly shine at rank 10 in inevitable excess when you can spam overwhelming presence and use hells authority to hugely buff your spell damage and/or DCs. I would still prefer azata prior to then.
    On reflection, I think this archetype might be an extremely powerful offensive caster, albeit with significantly fewer spell slots and virtually no buffing capability (unless its from your mythic spellbook). Its certainly not bad, but I think the ability to combine spells with chain lightening and then double the effects with zippy magic is where its going to shine, so its heavily skewed towards Azata imo.
    I really wish it at least got haste though. Its the one arcane spell that is absolutely not optional, so the class not getting it means you will need another arcane caster.

    Not part of the DLC but the patch 2.3.0 that accompanied the DLC release today fixed the Bane of Spirit ring to correctly use a swift action to activate instead of a free action

    I am continuing my play through near end game in act 5 and everything is dying in 1 hit.
    I got a little suspicious as I didn't realize it at first, but things were just melting instantly.
    Used inspect and found out all enemies are set to 1 Hit Dice...

    Intensified spells seems like a pretty amazing metamagic, for only a single spell slot higher, meaning you can, with a prepared caster and favoured metamagic, get the bonus for free (assuming favoured metamagic can be selected for this). Not sure how this interacts with spells with multiple projectiles, but if treated in the most favourable manner, this will be a huge damage increase for spells like battering blast and scorching ray. It will be very significant for hellfire ray also, but proportionally less dramatic of an effect. It will also somewhat restore azata chain lightening builds to their former glory.
    I am honestly not sure about the feint feats line. It seems like a fairly heft investment to achieve the shattered defences bonus, though you don't first need to land a hit without the bonus. There also seems to be some effort to combine this with a feat line for bards to make them a bit more effective an option, but it looks like 6 extra feats in total, which is a lot.
    I am not sure if its enough to overtake skald, particularly if the constitution bonus of Raging Brutality stacks with your strength bonus. If so, demon and azata skalds (and other rage builds I suppose) in particular are going to see huge buffs to damage and for only a single extra feat.
    Magic Deceiver needs some experimentation, but whilst there are a lot of archetypes that I am interested in, this could potentially be the most interesting by some margin. The tooltip looks pretty promising, but I will need to see the specifics of how it works in practice to be sure.
    Kinetic Sharpshooter looks like it basically gets to use kinetic blade at range with the hit and damage bonuses of its weapon on top of elemental overflow bonuses, with no drawbacks except having to take what appears to be an enhanced version of kinetic blade at first level instead of another infusion. I am confused about the 3rd level ability, Kinetic Quiver. As written, it seems insanely overpowered, saying that for a single burn point you get a number of additional attacks equal to your class level, which if it was 20 extra kinetic blasts at once at level 20, would be utterly insane.
    I suspect this is not how it works, and might instead mean you can get iterative attacks based on your BAB for a number of attacks equal to your class level, per point of burn. Ie. a level 10 kineticist could, when hasted, attack 3 times a round for 3 and a bit rounds per point of burn. The description is very unclear. Its also odd to have the ability at level 3 if this is how it works, as kineticists get an extra attack first at level 8. Maybe its with multiclassing in mind.
    I have a lot more to look over yet :).

      For the Kinetic Quiver, I would assume its the number of attacks appropriate to your BAB. So 2 at +6, 3 at +11, 4 at +16. Kinetisist only get one attack a round, so this would make it so it is like kinetic blade

      For intensified spells. It does seem to offset the bugfix of chain lightning and can help you keep certain blasting spells still relevant.
      Magic Deceiver - Single target spell can be turned into AOE including buffs (You can mix buffs with harmful effects funnily enough), spells don't seem to lose their power when fused. I don't know what spell effect gets applied first but if it isn't random you could theoretically attach debuffs before damage is done.

I wanted to also see if there's any good aeon/devil builds now, maybe a melee one, for another playthrough I am considering. The only thing I dislike about azata->devil is I prefer lawful alignments and sticking to them throughout and azata... well it's pretty much not what it's about, even though I get the logic behind it. However, I can't bring myself to sacrifice that casting power it offers a blaster.

      Even if it can, it caps out at spell level 6 for that.

      It can’t, magic deceiver gives you a set number of spells that can combine unfortunately. I could see it being very good with arcane trickster for a high dmg build but idk it’s a strange subclass

      @@Charles-Jones Try installing Mythic Magic Mayhem mod to let you merge spellbooks with any class. See if you can fuse spells if its part of your spellbook now

    i hope in future owlcat games to have more voice over. i don't mind fully voice main quest and some important sidequests particularly the companions one but NOT ALL. i would rather owlcat spend the money on content, polish, gameplay, QOL (quality of life) improvements features, performance like adding FSR, DLSS. definitely NOT fully voiced. they are going to the wrong direction. fully voice means more content will be cut as voice overs are costly.

      I prefer cut content with full voice acting rather than more filler and useless classes / archetypes that hardly anyone will play.

    Sad that this DLC broke buff bot mod. And without this mod WOTR is unplayable on hard and unfair. DLC for story mode players.

    bg3 is done because larian is done with wotc /hasbro and dnd rules that limited them to much not because they were done with the game they were working on a dlc
