Content: The stereoscopic animated documentary “How I Survived the Pyongyang Film Festival 3D” describes the personal experiences of the documentary filmmaker Martin Hans Schmitt, who took part in the Pyongyang International Film Festival in 2018. It is a travel film, during the course of which it gradually reveals how the dictatorship of Kim Jong-Un shapes the lives and thoughts of North Koreans right down to the smallest private niche, and also gradually influences the filmmaker too, increasingly creating the impression that we are observing a real-life satire.

A very entertaining film. The filmmaker was invited to the Pyongyang Film Festival and describes the big and small absurdities of his journey with subtle humor and observes life in the isolated country. He is very aware that he is part of a propaganda machine and examines its mechanisms with a good dose of self-irony. The documentary is also stylistically interesting: it was made as a 3D animation. An unusual, humorous and intelligent film. I was able to see it at a film festival. It's great that it can now be seen here too.

I totally disagree with your comment. The animated documentary expresses my personal experiences visiting the International Film Festival in Pyongyang. I am an independent filmmaker and financed the film out of my own money. So no influence from any third party. You have to be more specific what in the film is for you "propaganda".

Propaganda can be when you constantly express biased opinions, or when you deploy "trick questions", or when you hide some parts of the information to create a false perspective. For instance, in 4:31 one may ask, Who warned you about being wary of their unconventional recruitment methods?
Then, you say this documentary expresses your personal experiences, like it's the only thing it expresses. If it's that so, then in 4:02, what is your personal experience that made you aware of the abduction and the ideological re-education of those film directors? Another example comes in 10:20 when you affirm the site is derelict. Have you personally confirmed this? Because that's not true, the building is being used for goverment offices.
To end up, you mention there is no thrid party involved here... Then, what in the world is RUclips? Isn't it a third party that can provide earnings? Are you saying you don't expect to gain the recognition needed to monetize your channel and try to pave a way that leads money into your pocket?
At least, you could have tried to understand the corean culture, and why they do the things they do, so your opinion won't be as much westerly biased as it sounds all the time.
