Hey all you cool cats and kittens. You might be wondering - what does the Tiger King have to do with copywriting?! Well, turns out, more than you think. Watch today's video to find out.
This week I'm talking all about the single most important part of copywriting….
The art of crafting the perfect hook.
In copywriting and marketing terms, a hook is exactly what it sounds like - a concept or an idea that gets people interested in what you have to say... and what you have to offer.
Therefore a good hook has the job of reeling in a prospect by getting their attention enough to take the next step.
Because, let’s face it, it doesn't matter if your copy is the most interesting, engaging, well written masterpiece on the planet, if you can’t get your prospect’s attention - does it even matter?
WHY SUBSCRIBE?
Every single week I provide tips and resources from my copywriting vault, so go ahead and browse the tutorials and guides I already have up and, after you subscribe, hit that little bell icon so you don’t miss any future videos from me.

1. Threat , warning and pain
2. Education & FYI ( provide a useful and relevant information that opens loop to make them want to learn more )
3. Confirm beliefs ( start with a powerful statement that confirm existing beliefs , then pivot to give another information , this gives prospect a sense of validation & acknowledgement )
4. FOMO ( Merging social proofs with scarcity to create desire , ex = who else wants to... / millions of people have.... )
5. Relevancy ( use issue , culture or whatever is in a trending topics and connect it with our products )

You are right my darling sis, when my rabbis see a cat, doesn't matter what food i bring for them, they first run away instead of eating their hearts out. I love you, lovely piece of advice from the most charming coach on the planet.
Oh, This was was published on my 🎂. I vividly remember the 29th of 2020, but wouldn't expect myself to be a killer hook writer in 2023 thanks to Alex❤

Copy Posse!! I love it. Brilliant 👏🏽
I'm in the process of re-reading Maria Veloso's great book, 'Web Copy That Sells', to try to add some appeal to my blog posts and call-to-actions. I decided to see if she had anything on RUclips (she doesn't), when I stumbled on some other copywriters videos. I wasn't really impressed with how they present ideas. Then I found one of your videos and am grateful that I did! The way that you explain the ideas of great copywriting makes it very easy to internalize. Your energy and enthusiasm adds to the excitement, too. Also, the tools and processes you use are modern and cutting-edge. I've subscribed and will be viewing many more videos from your channel. Thanks for the great tips! -Mark
Aw thanks so much Mark! Made my day
scarcity, social proof, and fomo never motivate me as a consumer,
which makes it hard for me to take them seriously or employ them.
6:00 Alex's crazy coffee eyes. ahahaha
Look how good your copy is I literally paused the vid and wandered right down your sales funnel - super excited for the Launch Files!

thank you! so happy to hear it was helpful :)
this is good. thanks for sharing.
I picked up some gems
Dear Alex I just watched a couple of your videos and I am HOOKED haha. I'm a non-native English speaker living in an English speaking country.
I have been super interested in marketing lately, and the more I dig into it the more I'm leaning towards copywriting and content marketing (guess I'm an introvert). In your experience have you seen anyone in my situation? How they approached improving their copy (wording) etc. I remember you saying thesaurus is the best friend of a copywriter in another video but I feel more stuck being unable to produce a native-like script. I'm more used to academic writing so I'm not sure how to reach out to an everyday speaker/reader.
I got hook to your smile and lovely energy!! Hook #6 hahaha
Awesome sharing Alex

Really helpful content! 👍🏻 Molto bene! 👏🏼 Thanks for sharing these really practical tips! I will at least implement one of the mentioned ideas for a good hook into the article I am writing right now about "How to become self-employed" (in German).
Good to see also that "sleeplessness" does not only seem to be a tongue twister for people who are not native English speakers! 😅
Hahaha it’s hard right?! Best of luck!
@@AlexCattoni Thank you! I practiced a bit and it works pretty well now! I know some tongue twisters in German which are way more difficult - and even though I am German and I know them since my childhood they still give me some trouble at times. But they are a good practice for people who want to be speakers or who synchronize foreign material or who record potcasts etc...
The simplest and IMO the best definition of clickbait title I've heard is this: The headline has a claim and builds tension which the reader trusts the copy to resolve. When the copy fails to resolve the tension created in the headline, the reader feels cheated and we get clickbait. IIRC Ann Handley wrote this in Everybody Writes.
Nice! Great definition.
Subscribed and officially a student!
Woohoo!! 🎉
Congratulations of 30k !!! You are such an amazing beautiful person
Aw thank you!!

Oh new things learnt. Do you have a listen of good copy I can use as reference. Or a process on how you take on a copy proposal and make a great copy.
@AlexCattoni is Launch Pad for absolute beginners who need to learn the fundamentals of copywriting? Starting with very little to no experience? Or do you have something better for that?
Yes! Launch Pad covers everything a new copywriter needs to know to build their business from scratch.
The funny thing is, your videos hook me in with your killer good looks
Adam Taylor Wow ... just wow
you need a girlfriend.
" ReLeVant Lead to Value"
do you see what she did there? Each word leads right into the next. This is both a powerful memory tool AND good copy. She appears to have internalized rules and grammar of good copy. Now we kNow what isN'T clickbaiT.
"I Said this Several timeS and i will Say it Again ALwayS Lead"
same thing. structured alliteration to compel reading and retain in memory.
"if you want more Tips Techniques and TuTorials"
jesus you're worse than me!
Hey Alex, hope all is well. Can you plz do a vid on constructing a contract with a client. Thanks!
Sure - this might help though: ruclips.net/video/WAf6Jt6P_J8/видео.html
@Alex do you teach product description copywriting
Not specifically, but the all the concepts I teach apply to all aspects of copywriting
Hi Alex, I love your videos. But I want to ask you for opinion on "rubbing salt into the wound". Would you recommend using it if you knew your product could really help them? If you knew the product wasn't a lie? Even though saying it might make the prospect feel uncomfortable?
Thank you in advance for your answer!
Good question. There’s a fine line for sure. I think addressing real pain can be powerful and help your audience understand what you do. So as long as youre staying in integrity and truly helping people, it’s fine to focus on pain. “Rubbing salt on the wound” has a very negative connotation and implies it’s unnecessary. So I don’t love that.
@@AlexCattoni Thank you for the answer! That's really helpful
❤❤❤❤
Hi Alex
You roll on with Bouncer Hooks that Wobbles to Resonate, the space of the prospects to turn them as customers/clients - Big Cheers 😊
Alex, where am I, in your thought , to my offer 😊 - Anywhere Nearer 🤨🙃😊
I didn't realize that the Netflix series summary which you mentioned is a hook.
Is copywriting for movies/TV Series a niche?
definitely!
I want to pull you into my nation.
👍🏼
Why is there an ad for a different copywriter right in the middle of your video!?
Because other copywriters target my videos to promote their own stuff. Nothing I can do about it. 😫
Hi, Alex, I love you and I love your videos. I'm an Hotel designer with the passion for copywriting. I have a blog - hoteldesign.org - and I'm a content creator for hotels and spas. Thank you for your work, you're my inspiration. Ciao from Rome

What about what you called "S-hooks?" How do they work together?
BTW, thanks. I found it helpful, I just got confused between S-hooks and what you just mentioned here.
I call it an S-Hook, because Story, Science or Supposition are all great hooks to use!
@@thecopyposse5375 So what you mentioned here and the S-hooks belong to the same family: HOOKS?
OMG. Why am I overthinking this. Haha.
@@johnmathewrosario4625 Haha! it's easy to do!

Hi, I want to learn copywriting to get myself a job. Please answer my one question and don't get offended by this novice :) do you think that covid19 will have any impact on copyrighting jobs for freshers in the coming months? If yes then what are your advices for the same
To be honest, I've seen an increase in businesses looking for copywriters right now as they hustle to move online. (Why would I be offended? Great question!)
I am caucasian.

what's difficult?
From you personally, I mean.
