    You could call this trio the Egghead Trio...LOL... All of those guys look like Ivy League professors. And all of them are definitely PhD level jazz masters. Love it! Been a Ulysses Owens fan since he was with Christian McBride.

    These guys just destroyed! What a trio. How is it that I'm just now finding Ulysses Owens, and then stumbling into this particular trio. So, 2/27/2022 has been a good day for me in the jazz world. I'll watch for any/all of these guys coming through town.

      If you listen to Ahmad Jamal’s Cherokee from at the Pershing volume 2 you will hear the influence on the bridge.

    I could detect no obvious relationship between what the bass player and the piano player were doing. Or, indeed, the tune. Modern jazz will for ever be beyond me.

      This depends on the listeners knowledge and theory of jazz. Knowledge of chords, scales, lines, form and experience, etc. This is pretty standard stuff really. Well played and executed mind you👍
