The episodes are getting more abstract and developing their own poetic... Rich, I am still cursing the flooded atmos display and would love to see "A Diver's Life" take on the Windjammer, one day.
Thank you. So, we went to film the windjammer. I had asked the divemaster to be careful of the dome port, but when handing me my camera he slammed the dome port into my deco bottle and put a large gash on the glass. So, my camera would not focus. Then one light flooded. At that point I focused on the dive. Unfortunately, now you are not allowed to dive the windjammer due to SCTLD restrictions. My plan is to dive it on a rebreather. I have dove the jammer a number of times and want to do a special on it - in fact I have already talked to a friend about doing it together. It will probably take up to 10 dives to do it justice. I learned that I don’t want to dive it again on doubles as it is just too much gear to deal with with a big camera. Also, if we are going to do it we need to nock it out of the park. It would be a special.
@@ADiversLife I learned about the Windjammer after reading Michael Crichton's "Travels", in which there is a whole chapter dedicated to the wreck. I've been absolutely fascinated ever since... however, I need to get a bit further into the world of technical diving before I dive it myself.
@@kissamoray I have Chrichton’s book and know the chapter. I dove the wreck first in 1998 when she was amazing. I the artist that painted her is a personal friend of ours and a former Cousteau diver.
Is this a site that requires special permission for easy access?ya wife and I will be heading to Bonaire, I’ll be doing underwater photography. This site looks like a dream
Hi Sonjya, Thank you. Yes, this is a private dive site but you can reach it from the surrounding dive sites. In the beginning I put in a map. that showed Small Wall and The WEB pier. You can best get to the site from a dive boat to Small wall. There is a dive site south of the pier called Hamlet but that is quite a swim for most people. We can make it but we dive a lot. This is why this site is so beautiful - less human interaction. In fact, people usually can't get to the pier due to a fuel ship coming there. We hit things at the right time.
@@peterlamshed3688 Hi Peter, I used a Sony FE 28-60 F/4.5.6 lens for the wide angle shots (sunbeams and coral closer ups). For the really tight fish close ups I used a Sony FE 90mm F 2.8 Macro G OSS Lens.
The easiest think to do is walk down the boat ramp at the boat yard and swim to the pier underwater. Again, not if a boat is there much the same as Salt Pier
Loved it!!! My wife loves the frogfish so I cast this up on our TV to watch with her.
Thank you Caleb
Another beautiful video. You spoil us. Thank you.
Thank you!
Beautiful video as usual. Thank you.
Thank you Reza.
Can’t wait to see it live again! Monday we’re back in Bonaire 🎉🎉🎉
Well, welcome home in advance!
Another good video.. Such a beautiful Island I hope will visit in the near future 🏁
Thank you

Hi Doreen and Rich! The Bonaire cleanup day last weekend was fun!
Yes it was!
We uploaded corrected US English subtitles.
Loved it! I see names to some coral that I’ve not annotated in my past dive pictures. Thanks! Is this a private site requiring owner’s permission?

Magic Rich! What lens are you using? It seems to handle wide shots and close-ups really well. Cheers, Pete

Really helpful once again Rich, thanks
@@peterlamshed3688 You are most welcome.
Suggestions on public access to WEB pier?
Swim shallow from Cliff north to is as long as no boat is docked there. You can also swim there from Small Wall but stay shallow
