For those having trouble with cannot find file. Repeat everything from the start but make sure go to configuration > system then go to last tab which shows where the dump address is and make sure you tick the box that says dump exefs. It should have the exefs containing the main.npdm.
did that and now im still having trouble could this version be too old?

When i try to open the folder with PKNX it says tath the folder is invalid, unable to recognize game data. Can someone halp please?
A tip in case the "main" of your save does not work when putting it in the "exefs" folder change the name to "main.ndpm" when doing that, the program detects it in its latest version and I have already been able to randomize: D

Thanks for all the info in this video man! after seeing some images of people randomizing the game soon after its release ive been wanting to do it myself. Took me a minute to find out how to dump exefs files, after looking at the pinned comment i had to search up you need to bring up the game again before being able to dump them properly. After that it took a minute to navigate the website to the most recent build for the randomizer, and now it works! there's even more options to randomize but the issue with randomzing trainers still exists sadly. Hopes this helps anyone else out who was scratching their head even after looking at the pinned comment!

Ive tried this, but when I start Yuzu it does just sit at the "launching" for 30 minuttes, and nothing happens? I cant run my romfs mods

Hey! I got a major issue, different to the ones discussed here. Basically, when I checked the game after randomizing stuff, I found that movesets, abilities, items etc. all randomized perfectly fine. However, the encounters won't get randomized, no matter what I do. I've even tried downgrading my game version from 1.3.2 to 1.3.0, but the encounters stay the usual. When I re-open PKNX, and go to the "Wild" tab, it still shows that everything should be randomized, but no matter how often I click on save and drag the new folder into my mods folder, the encounters won't change ingame. Any ideas?

@@SirGingy6 Yeah, ikr? So basically, we're a group of 2 players trying to start with content. And we both have the exact same issue. Everything, including static encounters, get randomized. But the wild encounters wont work. Might it be because we installed the DLC first, and then randomized? After all, when we dumped the FS, it told us to choose the base game or dlc first instead of only asking for skeleton or full dump.

@@SirGingy6 I'll look forward to that, but as I said, everything else works... I doubt it's an issue which resulted from doing something wrong, it really might come down to the DLC patch and stuff.
Bro a question, when i try to randomize i can see that those pokemons that they add in dlc, not appear , how can i add those pokemon? For example to encounter a galarian slowking in the route 1 🤔🤔🤔
I believe you need the dlcs. Download them. The add them to yuzu
@@SirGingy6 yeah i have dlc installed in the rom, but i still cant add dlc pokemon like ( luxray, fletchling, dragonite, etc)

Also , when I was done with pknx it creteated a new folder with the numbers matching to Pokémon sword , but I’m playing Pokémon shield, the trainer are randomizer , but the encounters are not?
The numbers don’t matter. PKNX is really dumb and always thinks you’re playing sword. Make sure when you did your randomized that you saved after you randomized the wild Pokémon. The trainers will work as long as you have less that’s 250 files in the trainer folder
@@SirGingy6 dude I finally figured it out, I used hactool to extract it , and it finally recognize the game data so now I’m playing with the update and the dlcs. Thanks for helping though!!!

I believe it should work with an updated PKNX file. Let me do some research and I’ll make an updated video

hey, everything worked just fine. But i had no legendarys at all and i activated the legendarys option. Do you know why i have this problem ?
It could just be bad luck?

Trying to do this with Sword v. 1.3.2 and even with the dump exefs button ticked and everything it will not dump the exefs file. I tried making a new folder and copying the main file from save data into it but keep getting the “can’t find file” error mentioned. Is this just not compatible with 1.3.2 or am I missing a step?
So I have messed with PKNX over and over again and I can not get any legendary pokemon to spawn in the wild. I have turned on the legends option on the randomization in the wild area and it wont spawn any. When I manually replace them, they turn into eggs. Any help?

Yes you should be able to randomize them.
@@SirGingy6 Then, I don't know that I am doing wrong, because the tables that contains the item locations don't change when I press the randomize button in pknx
If u use acer aspire 3 and pldt its usually 60 to 70 ms and 17 to 30 fps
ive done everything in the video, even have the right pknx and still says no game loaded

Has anyone been able to get this to work lately. I cannot get Yuzu to open the game at all if there's a randomized file. Even tried not randomizing trainers just to see if there was an issue with that again. Nope. Can't even get it to open with the most basic of changes. Before using an older version of pkNX has worked. Nothing works now. It just makes absolutely no sense. Maybe I should try using Ryujinx? Can you even randomize games with it? I don't know what the issue could be at this point.
Didn't work for me, I followed all the steps, used the PKNX in the description, it showed the mod was loaded, and it didn't work.

Idk if you'llsee this but does anyone know if you can do trades or connect to the online features with this or is it like other roms where it won't let you connect to online features like trading and all that
Yuzu doesn’t have online support and if doing this to a modded switch you risk being banned when connecting to Nintendo online

Can someone plz explain why I only sometimes receive exefs. It’s so random and when I make another folder naming exefs and putting the main save data in it PKNX still isn’t able to read the folder correctly. Can someone please help
Could be using a newer version of pknx. I believe in this video. I was using a super old version.

If your file has been updated then you need a newer version of PKNX.

I don’t have a computer and I can’t find anything else to help me
I've tried for around 4-5 hours now to get a shield randomizer to work, :( tried looking everywhere I can. My result is no Pokémon on route on when I walk past it the first time. Then I get to my starters and when I choose it I just get an egg called 'Egg of the Kalos Champion' or something like that which is un-hatchable and results in every battle in an instant fail. So I can't get through the forest where the wooloo goes. I've likely messed something simple up, as it's my first time using any of these softwares. Any suggestions from anyone, I'm kinda desperate and frustrated lmao cannot find anything updated :(
Update I have it officially working on 1.3.2 without dlc :)

Sadly i couldn't make it, i tried changing wild pokemon and they appeared as pikachu models and an egg in the battle which made me really shocked D: what can i say....

So My Randomizer worked but for some silly reason all my starters turned into eggs no matter what Pokemon I set to be there ???
That’s super weird. Check to see if there is a setting clicked that makes them eggs. I believe it’s an option.

I'm having some trouble testing the super XCI bcuz I can't build the most recent release of PKNX (I have VS but its um not doing) it looks like you had the files for it so if you've already made the EXE can you send it to me or post a link ?? in the meantime ill check to see if I had any egg settings on and turn them off if so

@@SirGingy6 So Im looking on the Gift encounters and I dont see anything egg related very very odd again this is using Old XCI with No updates or DLC
I have made the most recent build of PKNX albeit im not sure if my issue is polluted dumps or the fact that PKNX is having an issue \\ in any case PKNX (last I read worked with update 1.3.0) doesnt seem to work with the super XCI ( update 1.3.2) or the old XCI (no updates/ DLC) AGAIN polluted dumps MAY be the issue not sure how to stop this
So, if your done with the randomized game and want to replay the game with a new mod, how would that work?

hiya. i followed all the steps to the t but after i had put the mod folder in to it. it then wont load past the menu screen when it loads in to the game. i thought it was a setting issue but i had run the game before even trying to randomise. i then took out the mod and still crashes on black screen with poke-ball loading symbol. could have one of the steps done something to the game?

When I go to dump the romfs I get Base, DLC 1, and DLC2. Which would I dump in this case?

I just did my first rando thanks for the vid man big help and easy to undestand but my game always starts from the begining when i put the file never loads in the save one i already had. Is cus i have the 1.0.0? Do i have to get or is there a new version better than the 1.0.0 or something? i test the starters to text the file i did i put goomy as a starter but it shows a egg insted of the sprite
I’m glad it helped and I’m not 100% sure how to fix that issue. I couldn’t never recreate it. I’m going to make an update video soon.

Honestly I’m not sure lol I believe you can change the items in the market to masterballs and make them $0
you can get PKhex and edit the sav file, but you can only get 999 of them

Makes sure you’re putting it in the right location. In the mod folder.
@@SirGingy6 definitely going in the right place, i downloaded a 60fps file off of github and put it in the same folder and it was definitely there

Depending on your sword or shield file you may need a newer version of pknx.
I don't have time for this. I just winded up buying the Nintendo switch.

You have to have a modded switch and dump your game onto your pc.

That’s only the starters. The Pokémon in the routes are all random.
@@SirGingy6 are the sprites still the same until you encounter the pokemon or are the sprites correct for each encounter

When i am changing the wild encounters, save them and open the wild editor again, everything is reset and not randomized. What am i doing wrong?

I don’t think you can change the shiny odds but you can make them shiny if you want too.

Hi, Im running Yuzu EA build 2272 right now and having trouble getting the exefs dump working. I did check dump exefs in the filesystem tab but it still just gives me the romfs folder without the exefs folder. Any solution for this issue?
Create an exerts folder and put a copy of your main.sav file in it
@@SirGingy6 yea that was the issue i was running into but i renamed my main file to main.npdm and pknx picked it up, thanks for the awesome guide had been searching for something like this for a long while
