My 3 adult kids are all baptized, as well as 5 out of 6 grandkids. That said, none of my adult children are practicing anything. I think having a Godly father makes a HUGE difference, but my kids didn't have that. I hope and pray they will return.❤

I prayed this morning for an illumination of conscience and, thanks to your challenge, I was able to see how horrible I was when I was growing up! I had already planned on going to confession this weekend and I am anxious to be forgiven and healed of these sins! Thank you Ken and Jenelle! God bless you and your family!

The wounds we have from childhood sure does shape the way we see God. It's so important to respond to our children the way we want God to respond to us. Forgiveness gentleness love

I had a rough night parenting teens last night. It’s the hardest thing I have ever done!! Thanks for reminding me God knows how it feels and the work is meaningful. My teens can be so disrespectful and it hurts and it’s hard for me to forgive quickly. I offend God and ask daily for forgiveness so I need to try and have the same for my kids.

Your message regarding carrying the cross the Lord permits is timely. Though it is fair to say, some of us are given such heavy, heavy ,crosses in this life. Mine, for 22 years is to have a constant migraine, every single day due to an auto accident. I have made it a habit to give this difficult cross to Jesus from the outset. he has allowed me to see such growth in my family's walk of conversion as well as my own. I will not know until I finally meet him, what good he has accomplished through the offering of this suffering. But, I remind myself often that the Father holds everything in His hands, and He will provide the strength, the remedy, the mercy, to continue on my daily walk to Him.

When my mom died, the hardest memories were the times I didn't honor her with obedience 😢

When I reflect on the times I was disobedient to my parents things did not go well for me. Isn't that the way it goes when we are disobedient to God's commands. If only it didn't take us so long to be truly enlightened to that fact. Having a hard head, and being strong willed can definitely work against us. I'm often reminded of scripture that speaks about the sins of the generations being passed down. Oh my do I see that in my own family and all around. We can't use that for an excuse though. When we come to the knowledge and Truth of God we must repent, and go to confession. Then do as much repairing as possible.
I only wish I'd truly had the undetstanding of this sooner in my life. It would have saved much heartache for myself and others, especially family.
God bless you both for your ministry.
    🙏🤲🙏💕❤️‍🔥

Word. Authority is given by God. Honouring parents is the only commandment with a promise attached.

Interesting video. I indeed was obedient as a child, to parents and teachers (mostly nuns). I realize from your video my obedience was empty. I went thru the motions as if invisible. No praise and no explanations why I was supposed to do what they said. I went to Catholic school in the 60s where we memorized what sacraments, Grace etc was. Never understood what any of it meant. We were told obey the commandments (only understood them in a superficial way). Go to mass on Sunday and confession periodically. I have trouble getting past the rules and guilt. Obedience to a loving Person/God who truly loves and cares about me is foreign. I’m 71 and find myself rebellious still in so many situations. I feel invisible and taken advantage of. I am going to try and meditate on your video and grasp the beautiful loving authority of God. Thank you. ❤️🙏🏼

If a young boy does not have a dad , I tell them they have Father God who loves them and explain -God gives us all Health to work to pay for our needs wants. I explain OBEDIENCE TO THEIR MOTHER IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD & IN DOING THIS ACTION - OBEDIENCE WE ARE BLESSED - DISOBEDIENCE BRINGS SADNESS, ANGER, SASSY . NEGATIVE BACKLASH. WHEN OBEDIENT - PEACE JOY SAFETY ,ENCOURAGING. PLS PRAY FOR MY FAMILY TO RETURN TO THE FAITH. I AM 62 CAN NO LONGER ATTEND BUT STILL READ MY READINGS,ROSARY,CHAPLET, REPENT OFTEN DAILY,SPEAK TO HOLY SPIRIT AND BL. MOTHER. SPIRITUAL COMMUNION. USE THE GIFTS AND WORK ON THE FRUIT. READ SCRIPTURE MEDITATE. STILL LEARNING FALLING - GETTING BACK UP QUICKER AND MY PRAYER LIFE IS CHANGING. PURITY OF HEART. IN PRAYER TIME.

These are good points. I want to bring up something which can also cause rebellion. I experienced sexual, mental and emotional trauma in my childhood which I still haven't healed from. And I have been projecting my experiences onto God. God as punisher. Due to the fact that authority figures incl my parents used to force their will over mine leaving me powerless and helpless, I feel the same towards God. It's a real battle for me every day because of the trigger and the picture I have of God. I learnt to do things out of fear of punishment or find myself rebelling against it internally. There is basically no trust whatsoever. When people talk about the kind and merciful God, I don't know what they mean for my journey back to my Catholic roots and to Jesus have brought so much pain and suffering.

Respectfully suggest that EXPLANATIONS -the answers to "why" - not only ease the immediate situation, but will build a subconscious attitude that there is usually a good reason for the order given. This supports the child's trust in the parent.

Having bad mother makes it difficult to connect to mother Mary and having bad father makes it difficult to wanting God in our lives. But if the child (mostly after becoming mature and after understanding own trauma) ends up only needing more Mary and more God in daily life. Though, unfortunately, not every child recovers from parenting trauma. Let's pray for those who didn't have good parents that they have Mary and the Holy Spirit in their lives soon. Amen

Pray everyday for your healing and of your family, this times families are under attack, don’t fight , just pray, pray, pray,
You can read the Bible Peter 3:1-6
Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives,
