more u take ideas from other discipline more u dilute the autonomy of the core subject...if u make it fully interdisciplinary, whether the thought is sociological or anthropological or economical is difficult to determine...that is the risk in making the approach inter-disciplinary...subjects also need to protect their turf...

I think society and ethics also plays major part in comparative politics(at society/class level if we see), hence i think it's not just statistical data approach. With more emerging society problems(like division) maybe in future Comparative politics will become very wide that it might loose essence ?

critical analysis means explaining from all points of view...don't go by literal meaning of the word ' critical' ...academic analysis are supposed to be critical...means presenting diverse point of views...in common parlance critical analysis is nothing but comprehensive analysis
