A few years ago I found flannel at Walmart for $1.00 a yard and made 3 yards worth of towels. I have not found any flannel for that cheap but I will be buying some next week to make more.
Thank you thats a great idea. I'm gonna make some for my granddaughter she has 2 small babies. That would be great for them. Even for bath time. Love your videos. God bless.
These are exactly what I used to burp cloths. A great size for baby burp cloths are cut at 13" x 19" and sewn down to 12" x 18". They drape well over your shoulder and have a little more room to hold and wipe up baby messes.
Thank you for this tutorial; I'm going to try the sewing machine method because I don't have a Serger or the funds for one. Maybe if they go on a great sale this year. 👍🏼
I notice with the serger you're doing all 4 sides separately. I just picked up a serger and that seems to be the best way to do it for even corners. I tried freehand rounded edges but they come out too uneven. Thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Is it possible to use cotton quilting fabric for one side? The designs I want to use don't come in cotton flannel. I would back it with a cotton flannel or diaper cloth, so would that make the quilting cotton OK to use on the other side?
Did you use cotton flannel on both sides? Is it possible to do regular cotton on one side and flannel on the other or is that not as absorbent/durable?
Yes, I used cotton flannel on both sides. You can use regular cotton on one side if you like. In my experience it is not initially as absorbent, but after 3 to 4 washes it becomes so.
The sewn method has a more finished edge. Yes, they roll onto a paper towel roll just fine. On some of mine I have placed some velcro on the center top and bottom on each unpaper towel and then when you use a roll you can keep them together better. Otherwise I personally use a cute small basket on the counter for a few and keep the others folded under my sink.
@@myeyesarebleeding212 Yes I have and it works great. I do think it tends to wear out a little faster than the standard cotton flannel. That is the only downfall though.
I so agree. Why not just buy some cheap dish cloths or wash cloths. And why do they have to be on a roll? Just stack them in a basket or in a drawer. I don't get it, such a waste of time. It's like they never heard of dishcloths.
When you serger the corners, I noticed you cut the ends off. Don’t the threads from each corner come loose? Or by sewing an X does stop the corners from fraying?
Oh my god, have you ever heard of dish cloths? Just get some and stack them in a basket or drawer. You don't need them on a roll, and don't waste your time with all of this sewing unless you just like to spend time sewing.

Wonderful!
I have tons of fabric leftover from flannel dog beds perfect..

You are so welcome! The day after Thanksgiving is usually a good time.
I just use 1 layer of flannel prewashed for shrinkage and serve it. That all ya really need a a paper towel is thinner than 2 layers
Very useful, thank you for the demonstration.
You are welcome!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Awesome stash buster!
I think so too!

These have been so great to have on hand. I like the square corners.

I think it would work out just fine. The flannel side would just be the more absorbent. It might to a good idea to prewash your material before use.
@@WisdomPreserved Thank you so much!
Great idea mam, from where can we purchase these fabrics and name of these fabrics
These fabrics were flannel pieces that were purchased at Joann's Fabric.
@@WisdomPreserved thank u for u reply

So does the sewn method or served method “look” better? Do they roll onto a regular roll okay?

Me encanto😍....donde compro la tela de vegetales?..Gracias😀por el vídeo...👏
I think she bought that fabric at Joann’s.
Yes, at JoAnn Fabrics. If you can't find it there you can try some of these on Amazon. There are a few that are very similar. amzn.to/33V2DOb
What are you using for the 'fashion fabric' is it quilting cotton or patterned cotton flannel?
It is patterned cotton flannel. It works really well because it is so absorbent.
@@WisdomPreserved thanks ! Follow up question. Alot of the flannel at Joanne's is labeled as super snuggle have you tried any of these in particular?
@@myeyesarebleeding212 Yes I have and it works great. I do think it tends to wear out a little faster than the standard cotton flannel. That is the only downfall though.
What kind of sewing machine do u have?? Thanks
I have a Singer Futura that is about 12 years old but Emmaline bought a new Singer quilting machine. I can't remember the specific name at the moment.
why not buy a towel at Walmart or some here thaats cheap?

Sewing the x protects the corners.
I woou.d use my 12 1/2 in squaew
Good idea.
