also the ß exists, which is pronounced like the s in the word soup, but in german we have two versions of pronouncing s ("soft/voiced" s sounds like the english z, and the "sharp" is just your normal s in english, but we use an extra letter ß for it). Before ß was included for this very specific purpose, we just used a double s (ss), which now is used similar to english: a faster sound to the vocal previous to the double letter. The written language was changed just for the ominous ß in 1996 (we call it the "neue Schreibeweise/new writing style"). And z again is like a sharp hissing almost, basically ts. Man I hate my own language sometimes

I love this video. I wonder if she could do this at the start of every video. She could take our suggestions and tell us what they are in German. Or she could make a series about German. I just think this is a wonderful idea and she is getting me to actually learn a different language. Love you eda and consider my suggestion.

I grew up around people who spoke German. And used to speak it. But I am a bit rusty now. Since I have to focus on Spanish for my university degree. Can you please do more? This is a great reminder for me, as well as a good time to relax.
