We take a day trip to go to the EX (CNE) for the first time in decades!

It's been a pretty tough year for us ... starting with the final stages of recovery from cancer treatment, to the difficult decision to conclude my career, then to the passing of two of our closest relatives. Immediately following the funeral for my brother-in-law we just needed to get away ... and oddly our thoughts took us back to childhood in Southern Ontario and the annual tradition called the EX! The Canadian National Exhibition is one of the largest fairs in the world and is part of the childhood experience for many in our part of the world. We share our thoughts on what's the same and what's different about today's EX.

I remember going with you both to the CNE about 30 years ago. I bought a wooden horse at one of the Curio stands. It is still sitting by the fireplace in my basement rec room.
