Such a nice person... I can't believe that he donated $60,000 prize money to a scholarship at NYU. Such an amazing person and very humble.
The scholarship he funded was actually "The NYU Game Center Evo Scholarship." Daigo put all the money he won back into the very community that he earned it from.

@@sheikhu1039 I believe the scholarship is for anyone who attends the school and plays on the video game teams, similar to a traditional athletic scholarship

When Daigo is "angry" after losing a round, he just scratches his eyebrows. He is the closest incarnation of the buddha bar the dalailama
Most impressive how he holds it to his utmost importance to take his fights in tournaments serious to the bone like a real martial artist without becoming malignant or mischievous or anything as such, but just trying to give his best showing through the character he plays.
Other players bring hype through a more laid-back attitude in their own ways, but without very special people like Daigo, the meaning and sincerity of the whole thing is endangered to get lost in self-display and showmanship.
This is also why he should stick to his Ryu (even if he struggles due to Capcom messing up their game), because as long as there is no other character his heart is more drawn towards, winning/losing only matters in context of his self-expression through Ryu.

the person that I admire so much... and just the kindness out of his own heart it's like how I feel for most people that treats me well. I always give my best no matter what, keep striving for what my goals are to achieve it with the greatest of Honor. and this is the guy who started it all for me. long live Daigo and his legacy will always carry on for many generations to come! and no matter what I will be the best as he is or better to carry on my legacy and to show people what I can prove to the world.

His father liked philosophy and martial arts and Daigo is a philosopher that plays martial arts games.
A true genius, this is what people don't get, he's not there just putting hours and training, he thinks, he looks for purpose, he links life knowledges with the game, this guy is really The Beast.

Im not know more bout Daigo back then. But recently i watch he play using Guile quite vulnerable.. But i think he challenge himself use difficult character, rather than e:g Ryu, Ken, Akuma..

He's kind of like any martial arts to worth his salt- super nice until it is time to go. He knows he is powerful. And from the looks of it, the whole family is like that. I wouldn't be surprised that even if average, that some of his family were yojimbo.

I love how Daigo's image has become human over the years. before now, you couldn't even pull up a crumb of info on him, his life, nor his family let alone a picture of him in his home country. Daigo has finally become human, and less of a robot

I don't know why Daigo donated all that money..Isn't gaming his full-time job?? He deserves the money with the amount of time and work he puts into it. If he's gonna donate to a university ...why not use that money to go back to school himself...further educate and better himself and help more people afterwards that way... NYU scholarship organization is great though..., they just announced that NYU medical students will all attend there tuition free now...
