Jesus (PBUH) did not call his religion "Christianity" and Moses (PBUH) did not call his religion judaism. There has been only one religion that in Arabic is called Islam but it is worship of ONE God taught by many prophets before the Last Prophet. If god can show us his mercy and can do whatever he want. Why the son ( Jesus had to die on the cross to forgive our sins ) . If god is the most powerful, he could forgive us immediately without such a scenario. Yes, God Kingship is not dependent upon our validation, He is self sufficient but this may mean, those who recognised him were granted Jannah and those didn't were thrown to hell. I find this statement "desired to be known" as the statement of love, that His lovers will testify his Kingship, If it was not for this recognition then why would some who doesn't believe in Allah go to hell?

Quran is not other people's scripture. Quran is actually equally for non Muslims to read as it is for Muslims. Quran is a message of God to the humanity. You may conclude after reading it that it is not from God or it is from God but not for me. 3. Prophet Muhammad is sent for entire humanity. He is not Muslim's prophet, alone. Vetting his claim and verifying is everybody's responsibility in the world.

I dont see love in the Quran, and Ive been reading it for 10 years... i just see the claimings like: the Quran is perfect, believe it or die! Islam is politics... with no islamic government, islam doesn’t exists.
You are probably reading a different book. The Quran not only teaches us love and peace but also equality and racial harmony. You just wasted your 10 years when in truth, a simple reading of the Quran in a day, can give you the impression of love, compassion and peace. This is a weak hadith.. This is often quoted in the Sufis' words although it is a Mawdhoo‘ (fabricated) Hadeeth falsely attributed to the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Al-‘Ajlooni stated that Ibn Taymiyyah said, "This neither belongs to the words of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, nor was it reported through an authentic or weak chain of narrators.” Az-Zarkashi, Al-Haafith ibn Hajar, As-Suyooti, and other scholars agreed upon that.

In English, you only use you when talking to a little kid or to the president but in Arabic we usually use the word ENTA "you in singular" when we talk to a friend but we use ANTOM "you in plural" when we speak to the president. The same happens when a king or a president speaks about himself he usually use NAHNOU "we".

Apocalypse Salaam. I know exactly what you mean. I studied Arabic just to be able to understand the Quran. I’m not completely fluent but can understand 95+ percent when reciting and it’s totally different than reading a translation. The general meaning may come across but the rhythm and rhyme get lost. Surah Taha and Surah Maryam are just 2 examples of chapters that have a sublime rhythm and sound and rhyme that is totally lost in translation.

@@imanafdar You should be careful with this : Hadith is only what prophet himself said on his own mouth and nothing else not what he did or stories about him , His life story is called Syrah, and what he does is called Sunnah . Hadith does not include sunnah or Syrah , it is kept separate because his sayings were very important almost like Quran , while the Sunnah is not , you can do it or decide not to do it it's your choice , you can believe it or deny it. but Hadith is authentic with real authentic Sources and Whatever hadith that does not have authentic source we don't believe in it.
I honestly doubt the authenticity of this one. Especially the "I longed to be known." part. Astagfirullah. The creator needs no validation or recognition from his creation. Keep in mind that the prayers we offer are a mercy to us from him. It is for our own salvation. We are given a chance to prove ourselves worthy of mercy and a great reward. It matters not if not one person prayed, or the entire humanity prays. The power of the Almighty will not diminish by any means. Again the point is, The Almighty is in need of nothing from us. He is the one that provides everything, and is free from all necessities.
Yes, God's Kingship is not dependent upon our validation but this may mean, those who recognised him were granted Jannah and those didn't were thrown to hell. I find this statement "desired to be known" as the statement of love, that His lovers will testify his Kingship, If it was not for this recognition then why would some who doesn't believe in Allah go to hell?

Did you know that Jesus peace be upon him spoke aramaic. In aramaic they call god Al laa haa. The first Christians were unitarians that means that they believed in Jesus as a prophet only. The Romans turned Jesus into a man god because they used to believe in man gods like hercules and what not. Look it up. Read the Gospel of barnabus. Read the chapter called Mary in the Qu'ran and see what it says.

Ponder this beautiful verse from the quran chapter 2 verse 62:- "Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." @Noah Wells it doesn't say it confirms all of the scripture, but the essence of oneness of God and his words has been preserved through time through various revelations, even before the Torah, the message was there. Also Jesus brought a revelation, but do u see Jesus or God speaking in the new testament at all or claiming to be the author of it? If not then new testament can't be the Injil, meaning it's not there or hasn't been found, or is being kept hidden possibly. So the Quran confirms the authorship of the Torah and other revelations, but states that they are either not preserved or their words were only directed to specific people (ex. lost sheep of Israel).

The title of this is READING the Quran as a Quaker. He obviously either hasn't read the Quran, or is glossing over half the book. He said that Quakers like to find the truth, well he didn't find it. Asking Muslims about their favourite verse is fine, but ignores the other parts. In fact half the Quran does NOT show compassion for non Muslims, and even encourages violence. He talked to someone who said you should repel evil with good - that is not in the Qruan when dealing with non believers - they are attacked and forced to convert or possibly get killed. Another person said 'our task is not to divide the world into two teams - the good guys and the bad guys' - that is EXACTLY what the Quran says and does. The world according to Islam is divided into two. The house of Islam, and the house of war - Dar al-Islam and the Dar al-harb, which is explained as there will only be peace when Islam controls the world, until then there will be war. Of course Muslims, and most people will try to find the good in their religion and in humanity, but this is not the religion and ideology of the real Islam. If he is in search of truth, he should also speak the truth.

Not a saying of the prophet Muhammad, scholars of hadith have classified this hadith as fabricated. The complete narration is as follows: (Allah Ta’ala said) “I was an unknown treasure and I wished to be recognised. So I created the creation and introduced them to me, they recognised me”. This narration is a fabrication. Hafiz Ibn Taymiyyah, ‘Allamah Zarkashi, ‘Allamah Sakhawi and Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahumullah) are unanimous that this narration has no basis. One should therefore abstain from quoting it. (See Al Maqasidul Hasanah, Hadith: 838, Dhaylul La-alil Masnu’ah, hadith: 1028 and Al Masnu’, hadith: 232)

You will not get what the qu'ran really says by asking your muslim friends or Imam friends or reading the earlier mecca parts of it. You will only get the true essence of the qu'ran by reading the medina part of it.
Christianity....came what...600 years before Muhammad's time? I'm not a scholar..but, it seems to me,...that Abraham foretold everything that would happen on this earth....thousands of years before it all did happen...and is happening....the Birth of Jesus,...the dying of Jesus,...our one and true savior (not a prophet), and the coming back to life of Jesus. If any of this....did not happen...the Bible would have NO value...but, it all happened...and the Book of Revelations is NOW passing before our eyes. Therefore...repent and "even ask Jesus,... 'if you're real....please show me somehow'". In some way Jesus will manifest his reality to those who seek him. Will the "Cow God?" NO,....will Allah...NO.

Very much impressive your desire to know the truth, let me add that there is no similarity between between creator and creation, no chemical, electrical, mechanical, physical, biological or even emotional, except for the fact that Allah has complete knowledge and His creation has limited knowledge or what He desires to give to his creation. also Allah has no requirement to eat yet he feeds his creation, He cloths his creations he gives shelter to His creation, Yet He is totally independent of any requirements, Allah does not fall into the domain of time and space, hence his range is infinite( Alfa & Omega) his knowledge is every where yet his creation has no knowledge or what ever he desires to give. what ever Allah talks about the Holy Ghost or Trusted Ghost in the Qur'an is in terms of the very first creation by his order ( be and so be it) ( Kun fa ya koon) to the trusted ghost. ( Rooh al Ameen), basically there is not a single or any of His example. His curtains are perfect. pls understand order is for the very first creation, & creation is for the created in general. Allah's order come to Holy Ghost along with complete knowledge to proceed. therefore holy ghost proceeds from an acquired knowledge from Allah with complete knowledge.

And "everyone through history spoke about him in one way or another" because God manifested himself in one way or the other, he "showed" himself, otherwise we, today would not be talking about God, if he never wanted or desired to be known. He has the utmost desire to be known, that is why all throughout the Quran he keeps mentioning "signs", signs that he has scattered all over the earth, so that we may recognize Him. What's the entire point of being alive if we dont't strive to recognize God, to reach HIm, to seek Him, to know Him?

I tried Islam for various reasons. I too have family and friends who are Muslims and I lived in a Muslim country for a few years. Please take heed as this is a serious matter. Continue your journey. I returned to faith and a relationship with our God the Christ for several reasons. Scientifically, Relationally, and most of all Ethically-Islam is flawed...Flawed tremendously. Please understand I know what you're going through. If you still have an open Mind I will add a few queries for you to ponder-Does this sound like God? 1. Scientifically- The Quran states "Literally" not as a metaphor (study the wording)-that the sun sets on the earth Surah 18:86 (it is clarified in the Hadith.) 1a. Scientifically- Hadith Sahi Bukhari States that Drinking Camel Urine is healthy ( In Bukhari but Hadith's are numbered differently-Do the research) 2. Relationally- The Quran states that Mohammed, through "God" ordered men to have sex with married women Surah 4:24 ...because according to this god, sex with a slave is ok. There's so much wrong with this I don't know where to begin. Jesus (PBUH) did not call his religion "Christianity" and Moses (PBUH) did not call his religion judaism. There has been only one religion that in Arabic is called Islam but it is worship of ONE God taught by many prophets before the Last Prophet.

Disciples did not believe Jesus was God
The Acts of the Apostles in the Bible details the activity of the disciples over a period of thirty years after Jesus was raised to heaven. Throughout this period, they never referred to Jesus as God. For instance Peter stood up with the eleven disciples and addressed a crowd saying:

Jesus’ claim about Himself
John 8:58-59: "‘I tell you the truth,’ Jesus answered, ‘before Abraham was born, I am!’ At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.”
This is a powerful double claim from Jesus: first, that He pre-existed His human birth and was actually alive and present (as God) before Abraham; second, that His title was “I am” -- which was the same title used for Jehovah God in Exodus 3:14. His listeners again got the point, and picked up stones to execute Him!
Another of Jesus’ claims of deity
John 10:30-33: “‘I and the Father are one.’ Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, ‘I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?’ ‘We are not stoning you for any of these,’ replied the Jews, ‘but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.’”
It couldn’t be clearer than it is here: Jesus’ highly educated listeners understood His claim of deity. They only had two possible responses: to humble themselves and bow before Him as the Magi and the disciples had done earlier, or reject His claim and judge Him as a blasphemer. Unfortunately they chose the latter option. But notice that Jesus doesn’t argue with their accusation, because it was accurate. He really was claiming to be God!
Thomas’ response to the resurrected Jesus
John 20:27-29: “Then He said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.’ Thomas said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’"
This disciple realized, because of Jesus’ resurrection, who Jesus really was -- and humbly worshiped Him and declared His true identity: “My Lord and my God!” Jesus not only accepts this declaration, but blesses all of the disciples -- and all of us today -- who come to the same realization and place of humble worship.

Yes, God Kingship is not dependent upon our validation, He is self sufficient but this may mean, those who recognised him were granted Jannah and those didn't were thrown to hell. I find this statement "desired to be known" as the statement of love, that His lovers will testify his Kingship, If it was not for this recognition then why would some who doesn't believe in Allah go to hell?

1. The first hadith you mentioned is a fabricated one. Scholars of hadith do not rate it as reliable hadith which goes back to prophet Muhammad.
2. Quran is not other people's scripture. Quran is actually equally for non Muslims to read as it is for Muslims. Quran is a message of God to the humanity. You may conclude after reading it that it is not from God or it is from God but not for me.
3. Prophet Muhammad is sent for entire humanity. He is not Muslim's prophet, alone. Vetting his claim and verifying is everybody's responsibility in the world.

In English, you only use you when talking to a little kid or to the president but in Arabic we usually use the word ENTA "you in singular" when we talk to a friend but we use ANTOM "you in plural" when we speak to the president. The same happens when a king or a president speaks about himself he usually use NAHNOU "we".

The english language is so so limited that its hard to express the Quran to its fullest without understanding it in Arabic. 60% of its contexts get lost in translation because Arabic is on an entirely different realm of word usage, complexity and expansive understanding within grammar. Truly, only the ones who want the nectar will climb the tree to get to the hive. As salaamu Alaikum (greetings of peace) and thank you to this God fearing man for his wonderful words. Life is for the living and this man is crossing uncomfortable boundaries and being rewarded for his efforts. I too shall speak with someone of a different faith and get to know what they believe. Our prophet(saw) told us to seek knowledge no matter where you are. This is all useful knowledge.

I’m not completely fluent but can understand 95+ percent when reciting and it’s totally different than reading a translation. The general meaning may come across but the rhythm and rhyme get lost. Surah Taha and Surah Maryam are just 2 examples of chapters that have a sublime rhythm and sound and rhyme that is totally lost in translation.

I honestly doubt the authenticity of this one. Especially the "I longed to be known." part. Astagfirullah. The creator needs no validation or recognition from his creation. Keep in mind that the prayers we offer are a mercy to us from him. It is for our own salvation. We are given a chance to prove ourselves worthy of mercy and a great reward. It matters not if not one person prayed, or the entire humanity prays. The power of the Almighty will not diminish by any means. Again the point is, The Almighty is in need of nothing from us. Yes, God's Kingship is not dependent upon our validation but this may mean, those who recognised him were granted Jannah and those didn't were thrown to hell. I find this statement "desired to be known" as the statement of love, that His lovers will testify his Kingship, If it was not for this recognition then why would some who doesn't believe in Allah go to hell?

I am with him when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assemble better than it. And if he draws near to Me an arm's length, I draw near to him a fathom's length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed.
Most Arab scholars don't even know what the Qur'an is saying because it's ultimately a very convoluted book with many errors, that native and non-native speakers will never understand unless they cease to see it as the immutable word of god and more of a piece of history. If you have read the Qur'an yourself you will also know it is very repetitive.

@Noah Wells it doesn't say it confirms all of the scripture, but the essence of oneness of God and his words has been preserved through time through various revelations, even before the Torah, the message was there. Also Jesus brought a revelation, but do u see Jesus or God speaking in the new testament at all or claiming to be the author of it? If not then new testament can't be the Injil, meaning it's not there or hasn't been found, or is being kept hidden possibly. So the Quran confirms the authorship of the Torah and other revelations, but states that they are either not preserved or their words were only directed to specific people (ex. lost sheep of Israel).

The title of this is READING the Quran as a Quaker. He obviously either hasn't read the Quran, or is glossing over half the book. He said that Quakers like to find the truth, well he didn't find it. Asking Muslims about their favourite verse is fine, but ignores the other parts. In fact half the Quran does NOT show compassion for non Muslims, and even encourages violence.
He talked to someone who said you should repel evil with good - that is not in the Qruan when dealing with non believers - they are attacked and forced to convert or possibly get killed.
Another person said 'our task is not to divide the world into two teams - the good guys and the bad guys' - that is EXACTLY what the Quran says and does. The world according to Islam is divided into two. The house of Islam, and the house of war - Dar al-Islam and the Dar al-harb, which is explained as there will only be peace when Islam controls the world, until then there will be war.
Of course Muslims, and most people will try to find the good in their religion and in humanity, but this is not the religion and ideology of the real Islam. If he is in search of truth, he should also speak the truth.
Spreading message of God does not mean controlling the world and forcing people to convert to Islam.
The holy Quran very clearly mentioned that:
There is no compulsion in Deen( religion).
Islam is a peaceful religion and the word Islam means Peace.
Unfortunately, the teachings of Islam are these days hijacked by the extremists.
I would suggest that you read the holy Quran with word by word translation instead of reading some biased translation or misinterpretation of verses or out of context meaning.

Not a saying of the prophet Muhammad, scholars of hadith have classified this hadith as fabricated.
The complete narration is as follows: (Allah Ta’ala said)
“I was an unknown treasure and I wished to be recognised. So I created the creation and introduced them to me, they recognised me”.
This narration is a fabrication. Hafiz Ibn Taymiyyah, ‘Allamah Zarkashi, ‘Allamah Sakhawi and Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahumullah) are unanimous that this narration has no basis.
One should therefore abstain from quoting it.
(See Al Maqasidul Hasanah, Hadith: 838, Dhaylul La-alil Masnu’ah, hadith: 1028 and Al Masnu’, hadith: 232)

There is no such hadith as "I was a hidden treasure and I had a desire to be known" it is a fabricated narration and there is no reference for this hadith.
You will not get what the qu'ran really says by asking your muslim friends or Imam friends or reading the earlier mecca parts of it.
You will only get the true essence of the qu'ran by reading the medina part of it.
Christianity....came what...600 years before Muhammad's time? I'm not a scholar..but, it seems to me,...that Abraham foretold everything that would happen on this earth....thousands of years before it all did happen...and is happening....the Birth of Jesus,...the dying of Jesus,...our one and true savior (not a prophet), and the coming back to life of Jesus.

Very much impressive your desire to know the truth, let me add that there is no similarity between between creator and creation, no chemical, electrical, mechanical, physical, biological or even emotional, except for the fact that Allah has complete knowledge and His creation has limited knowledge or what He desires to give to his creation. also Allah has no requirement to eat yet he feeds his creation, He cloths his creations he gives shelter to His creation, Yet He is totally independent of any requirements, Allah does not fall into the domain of time and space, hence his range is infinite( Alfa & Omega) his knowledge is every where yet his creation has no knowledge or what ever he desires to give. what ever Allah talks about the Holy Ghost or Trusted Ghost in the Qur'an is in terms of the very first creation by his order ( be and so be it) ( Kun fa ya koon) to the trusted ghost. ( Rooh al Ameen), basically there is not a single or any of His example. His curtains are perfect. pls understand order is for the very first creation, & creation is for the created in general. Allah's order come to Holy Ghost along with complete knowledge to proceed. therefore holy ghost proceeds from an acquired knowledge from Allah with complete knowledge.
Haw can God desire , when he created every thing ? That can't be said by God , and when was God ever been hidden when everyone through history spoke about him in one way or another .

And "everyone through history spoke about him in one way or another" because God manifested himself in one way or the other, he "showed" himself, otherwise we, today would not be talking about God, if he never wanted or desired to be known. He has the utmost desire to be known, that is why all throughout the Quran he keeps mentioning "signs", signs that he has scattered all over the earth, so that we may recognize Him. What's the entire point of being alive if we dont't strive to recognize God, to reach HIm, to seek Him, to know Him?

It is good to have open communications based on truth and honesty of existing differences and boundary of premises. I called this as “boundary condition algorithms of open communication”.
An example of boundary condition is that Aulloh and YHWH, are not the same thing and are deeply different in substance and essence, therefore are different in being and attributes. YHWH has nothing to do with Aulloh in history (space, time, and events) and theology. Another is that Yeshua Christ is not Isa. If Islam were genuinely the advice of god to mohamad, then mohamad would never have 'married' a 6yr child (Aisha) or consumated that marriage age 9yr. I tried Islam for various reasons. I too have family and friends who are Muslims and I lived in a Muslim country for a few years. Please take heed as this is a serious matter. Continue your journey. I returned to faith and a relationship with our God the Christ for several reasons. Scientifically, Relationally, and most of all Ethically-Islam is flawed...Flawed tremendously. Please understand I know what you're going through. If you still have an open Mind I will add a few queries for you to ponder-Does this sound like God?
1. Scientifically- The Quran states "Literally" not as a metaphor (study the wording)-that the sun sets on the earth Surah 18:86 (it is clarified in the Hadith.)
1a. Scientifically- Hadith Sahi Bukhari States that Drinking Camel Urine is healthy ( In Bukhari but Hadith's are numbered differently-Do the research)
2. Relationally- The Quran states that Mohammed, through "God" ordered men to have sex with married women Surah 4:24 ...because according to this god, sex with a slave is ok. There's so much wrong with this I don't know where to begin. Sex with another woman who is not your wife is wrong, sex with a woman whose husband is alive, having a slave, forcing a slave to have sex with you-All so wrong....Oh my Brother...Does this sound like god?
2a. Relationally-If you fear arrogance from your wife Surah 4:34 says you can strike her.
3. Ethically- One of the 99 names of Allah is the greatest Deceiver-Some Qurans and muslims will say 'No! this means planner or schemer', but the word for "planner or schemer' as they say, is "Makara" in Arabic which means Deceit. -If "God" is great at being disingenuous or guileful, How can I possibly trust him and love him and entrust him with my soul?
3a. Ethically- Is it good to Hate Jews (racism?)Surah 98:6, or 5:51.

As far as I know God doesn't speak in the Koran or the Hadith, it is either the words of the angel as repeated to people by Mohammed or the words of Mohammed as related by his friends. after his death.
There is within Islam a sacred saying called a “hadith,” in which God is speaking and God says, “I was a hidden treasure and I desired to be known.” You have been fooled in your desire to be nice.
