Just got this board (haven't installed it yet waiting on custom cables), I got it mainly for the 2 19-pin USB headers so I can eliminate an expansion card for the FP USB connectors (Corsair 7000D has 4 USB 3.x ports). I like the look of this board as well, it's sleek and not too flashy. Good quick review of the board and it's features.
I got a custom build pc with this motherboard gotta say it was a massive upgrade from my last one and this motherboard was great for future proofing with the pcie 5 slots and am5 socket
I can't wait to get this board. I'm going to build an apu build with the next gen strix halo since amd confirmed ryzen 8000 support.
Is there any kind of active fan on the mainboard?
dream mobo
I have to put Palit RTX 4080 and below that one pci-e 4K capture card... is there ENOUGH SPACE to fit both gpu and capture card in first and second pci-e on that mb?
This might be a dumb question but does the Dark Rock Pro 4 fit on this motherboard? The MSI website says this motherboard is optimized for water-cooling, the dragon IO looks pretty big.
I was wondering the same regarding a Noctua D15 lol
Consumer Master on youtube stole your video titled "Best Motherboards 2024" and timestamp 3:34
AM4 coolers will only work on this if they use the standard black plate.
Regarding USB4 and USB3.2 Gen2x2, the first is supposed to be 40Gbps and the second is 20Gbps. And where I live (Japan), the majority of X670E don't have USB4 (7/21 to be precise) and pretty much every single one (16/21) has at least one USB3.2 gen2x2 port (those who have USB4 ALL have one USB3.2gen2x2 as well) so I don't understand what you say regarding USB3.2 gen2x2 being rare compared to USB4...
yeah it was just bs, he has no idea what he s talking about
If I want max storage without decreasing bandwidth to PCIe 1, which slots would I install my M.2 SSDs? Also would any SATA ports be disabled if using any M.2 slots? I want to maintain x16 in PCIe 1.
It shouldn't matter where you put the M.2 drive, but you would be better placing it in one of the 2 Gen4 slots at the bottom of the motherboard, and leave the Gen5 slots available for future expansion of Gen5 M.2 drives..
Although the M.2 Gen 4 slots and SATA ports connect to the chipset, you will not lose any SATA ports if the M.2 Gen 4 ports are populated.
The M.2 Gen5 slots connect directly to the CPU.
Is this mobo overkill for a ryzen 5 7600x
Hello.... asus rog strix x670e-e gaming or msı mpg x670e carbon... Which one best? Please...
Based on the information provided in the search results, the ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-E Gaming WiFi motherboard appears to have a slight edge over the MSI MAG X670E Carbon WiFi for an AMD Ryzen 7000 series build.
GIGABYTE x670e aorus master vs MSI mpg x670e carbon wifi which one can you recommend?
I use m.2 *3, sata *6.
The MSI is better
How do you remove the top nvme plate? I have the one below removed but cannot figure out the top one for the life of me.
Slide it over to the left
Doing my first ever PC build and chose this motherboard.
Two questions:
1. Where and how do I access the CMOS battery if i ever want to relace it?
2. I'm starting off with only one Gen3. M.2 drive, which I'll use for the OS only and install a sata SSD later once up and running. Does it matter which M.2 slot i put the single m.2 drive in? Might add more later....
1. According to the manual, the CMOS battery is situated underneath the large VRM heatsink, just behind the rear audio ports. As CMOS batteries normally last about 10 years, probably nothing to worry about for now.
2. It shouldn't matter where you put the M.2 drive, but you would be better placing it in one of the 2 Gen4 slots at the bottom of the motherboard, and leave the Gen5 slots available for future expansion of Gen5 M.2 drives.
Hi i wantt to take this board with mp700= 5.0 nvm ssd in the first slot (5.0)
And i will take second nvm 4.0: can i put this one in the first chipset slot?
Another question:
Can i use 4.0 nvm in the 5.0 slot?
You are saying:
If you take 4.0 nvm put it in the chipset slots: will that differ in performence?
I am wondering every configuration of thw board.
Thnkyou
I just bought this board along with a Ryzen 9 7900X. Do I need to flash the bios for this CPU??? If yes, do you have a video showing how to do it on this board??
Always flash latest bios update before installing the system.
Can I change the rgb logo on this motherboard to a static colour of my choice?
Yes
@@thinkcomputers1thank you I appreciate it, going to buy this board on Boxing Day
@@spectre9466 Nice!
Is it possible to bios flash this motherboard without the CPU?
Yes , yes it is
@@sebastianlipkowski412 do you mean yes it can?
I have an ASUS X670E Crosshair Hero. I'm debating selling it and getting this. Would it be a downgrade? I'm very unimpressed with ASUS BIOS for the x370 and x670 boards I've owned
I actually prefer the ASUS BIOS over MSI's
You can pretty much get the msi x670e carbon wifi ek x for only a bit more than the hero
@@thinkcomputers1 So what ASUS do you recommend for an AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3d?
@@jm7720 Depends on what you are looking for or how much you want to spend tbh...X670E Strix series is good, if you want to spend the money Crosshair series
if i use 2 nvme m.2 ssds in the top slot to the cpu will it make my gpu run in x8 or still in x16?
None of the M.2 slots share lanes with PCIe_1/2 slots (the best feature of this board). PCIe_1 runs at x8, if you use something in PCIe_2.
@@Vannellus thats the reason i bought this board yesterday because i drives me crazy having to deal with all that lanesharing on most other boards
@@CodeineCrazy999 Funny. I bought this board last week and use 2 M.2s. and I'm super satisfied. It runs smooth and stable. Nice sound adjustments with Realtek App. Boots in 8 seconds to Win11 even with activated EXPO profile.
Probably a good board. But how are the boot times? Some users report that the Windows boot time is very long. Furthermore, the position of the battery is very badly chosen. You have to remove the whole cooler to get to the battery and it is not a standard battery. I would be happy about an answer. Thanks for the video and the test.
Didn't experience any long boot times, if anyone is having that issue be sure to update to the latest bios
8 Seconds from switching on to login W11 screen. 64GB-Expo-6000 RAM.
U have to activate "Memory Context Restore" and something like "Power down..."
I have this board whith 7800x3d and the expo dont work 😢
I find this board incredibly boring. Gigabyte Aorus seems to the have the best designs this generation
The screless locking is already a seeling pint xD i hate this tiny ass M.2 screws x'D
Haha I know right!
@@thinkcomputers1 That realy make life easier xD with screws you need 3 hands to just put in the m.2 x'D
