I just “upgraded” to this exact one from the tiny white Walmart special. I will be trying it plugged in direct because the cordless option was a total letdown for me.
I was soo tempted to buy this while I was at hobby lobby but then I read further that it only lasts for 2 minutes off the base before you have to reheat it, I figured theirs better options out there and the same hot glue guns they sell at hobby lobby the have the same model at Walmart for way less
Oh yes! Walmart for the win! So while it only stays heated at the same temp for two min you can continue to use it longer as it’s still hot enough to keep going! I’d say about 5 min before it cools down too much to use. And hears back up quickly. That being said I still prefer my corded glue gun!
@@TheHardwoodForest yes, I agree I think for quik nifty projects that you won’t be using it too long this would be perfect, but im still on the hunt for the perfect cordless glue gun 😄
@@sonyakor6593 yes! They do have a cordless that uses drill batteries so I imagine that last awhile. But I only use the fine tip on the glue gun and I bet it’s heavy!
It is also a corded gun. Check the directions. You missed the entire idea that this gun works both ways. You plug the cord into the handle and it becomes a corded gun.
While yes it can be, I don’t believe that feature works well. I have tried it a few times and the the flap that catches the glue in the front gets in the way (even when folded up) and the gun falls out of the base to easily and is clunky. I have used it on the table without removing the base as well for certain applications but doesn’t work for everything. And to be honest I am having issues with it not seating properly in the base and not heating which causes me to slow down to get it to sit properly and then wait to heat again. With the amount of use I put it through I will be going back to the basic corded glue gun!
@@TheHardwoodForest I think you're still unaware that you plug the cord into the gun's handle and it then becomes a simple corded glue gun without the drip plate or anything to get in the way. I used it all over a room to tack down fabric covers for electrical plates. Imagine needing to plug a cord into an outlet every time you moved to a different location. For that kind of usage it's a game changer.
@@cliffeinstein7816 oh my goodness cliff my mind is blown…. 😂😂😂 I even read through all the instructions and clearly missed that! Welp I’ll have to give it another shot.
Oh no!! I’m awful and leave mine on 24/7 🤫. And maybe have had only 1 or 2 break on me. But I usually replace them every 2 months as the tips get icky and gummed up.

It has a hole to mount it to the table which makes it way easier to pick up and put down from the station
That’s a great idea. I do have a granite top though so no where for me to mount too but perhaps I can create something!

Well it’s still better then the Walmart special!
Thank you, so helpful!
So happy to help!
If I plug it into the button of the gun and take it off the stand how long will it stay heated when plunged in directedly to the glue gun
It actually stays heated. It functions like a corded glue gun at that point.

my glue guns break twice a month but it's the best

Maybe worth another review just to be fair to these folks. Your opinions carry a lot of weight. ❤️
Totally fair! It’s going on the list! Thanks for pointing it out!
