@@meg8358 yeah lol, what gets me is so many of my friends are scared to quit their jobs and really give a lot of consideration, worrying about letting their boss down etc. I’m like damn, bless your heart, but no.. They will spend years in this state, being miserable, especially my Japanese friends💀
Yes! That is sad. I have been there and done that. I had to watch a coworker literally work themselves to death (stroke/aneurism) in education. It was so sad 😞 but business went on. I left education last year and went into cyber, working on building my skills to get over 6 figures, get into real estate and eventually get out of the grind.
I am not sure if this has been highlighted in the videos that talked about working outside of the USA remotely but the cost savings is REAL. I lived in Egypt for some time and was able to save half of my income. If I lived in my small hometown in the USA I would have needed a second job to provide for my very small family. Long time viewer, thank you Josh for telling me about WGU. Currently in the Bachelors of cyber security program plan on eventually going after the masters.
@JoshMadakor I have watched almost every single video on your channel and have to say THANK YOU! Every video has information that has benefited me in terms of education and career choice. Please don’t stop doing what you’re doing for this industry.
Caution.... be sure its okay with your company due to labor laws and states business laws. One person cost their company 200k for working remotely in the state of California when they originally started the job in another state. The employer didnt know that they moved. Also WFH is not the same as remote. ❤ There maybe exceptions if you are a military spouse. But know the laws of the country you will be working in. Some do not legally allow remote work on your VISA❤
Appreciate you telling it like it is about how "most" companies truly relate to individual employees - you are absolutely expendable to them. Anyone who believes in "Company Loyalty" is in a cult and doesn't even realize it.
I finished your IT Support Professional course and is currently in your Cybersecurity course (Leveld) Like your content and insight. Thank you for everything.
I 100% agree with this ESPECIALLY the part about making yourself irreplaceable! Often times I have to continue studying for certifications, working extra hours, taking on projects. I'm not as qualified as you, but still distinguish myself from my peers. My new job allows me to work from anywhere, I was upfront and requested this before onboarding. I dont have the courage to do what you did.
Hello Josh, I truly appreciate everything you do. My fiancé and I have been discussing our interest in starting your IT course. Following your advice, we’ve begun the Google IT Support course to build some foundational knowledge before diving into your course next month. We’re both eager to learn and excited about the prospect of taking your courses together. However, purchasing both courses simultaneously is financially challenging for us. If possible, we were wondering if it would be possible to acquire some sort of discount for purchasing two of the same courses, so that we can each enroll in your valuable course. Thank you for your dedication, and we look forward to embarking on this learning journey with your guidance!
Hello Josh, Can you please mention that people should consult a tax accountant? The company could be liable for taxes as well as the person getting fired or having a tax liability. During Covid, many people did this and were fired. Supervisors don't know about tax implications. Human resources and legal would need to be advised.
I’m in Hawaii and finishing up my BS degree by May 2025. My goal is to land a job remotely in Japan or Hawaii, I’ll definitely reach out for some mentorship.
I am looking to do exactly this. I am a US/Japanese citizen and I also want to go back and forth between thailand and Japan. It's extremely tough to find a job though, I'm limited to remote and night hours, pretty much only a overnight SOC position works out. Have certs and nice experience, but cant get anything but ghosting and rejection. Pretty discouraged. I feel like I'm "really really good" as you say, but nobody gives me a chance. I have the projects, experience, a nice resume. But I get nothing! I hate that I'm looking to do this post-AI boom as well, as I have always prided myself on my writing and used that to stand out but now anyone can show up with a well written resume and cover letter.
This is interesting and I would love to try it. I would love to know your thoughts on "overemployment" where people get 2-3 full time remote jobs, there is a whole sub reddit on it.
Good vid. Employers shouldn't care as long as you're doing your job well. But many places end up having lazy ambitious people who solely care about office politics
Hey Josh, Another great vid, thank you for the content!! One thing that I noticed that you didn't mention was the tax implications of working from abroad. When you spend months working from Thailand and Japan does it affect how you will be taxed in any way?
Howdy Josh, followed you for awhile now and see you go to Japan often. I know I can get a job there and have them sponsor me but I feel like this would set me back in my career and $$$ (¥ is weak) How do you manage your visa status there ( startup visa? )
Where do you look for Security or Network jobs in Japan? I browse every now and then just to look around but all of the jobs are pretty much English teacher or something similar.
If you spend a few months working in the US using a VPN under a certain city and then you just use the same VPN and same city and fly overseas, would they know any difference? Wouldn't they just think you're still in the US ?
Hi Josh. Good video, though is it possible you could avoid burned-in subtitles? I'm not trying to criticize, I just find them extremely distracting, and I think you could get away with just using the CC features.
WOW! this is a new low. This remote but just from "x" country is complete BS... People should be able to work from any country. What is the point of remote work then... This is why people just don't want to study or work anymore.

How was this comment 1 month ago when the video was uploaded 4 hours ago? 😮
@joshmadakor what type of internet provider would you recommend for traveling in Thailand since starlink is not available there yet?
I love how he acknowledged that the companies don't really care about their employees.

To people who wants to proceed with this, definitely consult with your employer and your tax accountant about foreign tax implications as well.

What’s the difference between wfh and remote?
Kudos sir for telling it like it is, about companies especially lol

Yup. I've never been loyal to any company I've worked for. I just care about myself and that's it.

I love your honesty and transparency. You're one of the few in this space that I feel I can completely trust and respect.

Great Stuff Josh.
When you gonna be in Tokyo? 👀
unETHNICALLY ?
😂

I no longer identify as Latino if it means I get to work remotely

one of ur better videos wow thanks 👍🏻
Should have mentioned the tax reasons why all companies will care even if your bosses don't.
Awesome! I have friends in the Philippines.

He works for a US company that's remote
Could I get remote job in US with the same amount of salary while I am living in Yemen
Hi! How much of a pain is it to do your banking and tax related stuff and transfer USD to Thai currency? Great vid btw!

what if you move to another country and connect the vpn back to the original job place country?
Well...😮
Did he wear a grey hat on purpose?

They want taxes.
I'm assuming your company doesn't send you a company laptop?
👍🏾
Any recommended and legitimate websites for remote companies that hire globally?
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
