4 years ago I was welding. I found your videos, and your AD lab. Wound up getting my Net+, Sec+, and landing an IT job. Worked hard, got my PenTest+, and got into a security role. I don't think I'd be where I am without you. Glad to see you're doing well.
@juggusa4581 I cannot stress how nice a job where you don't go outdoors, or lift something heavy is. IT uses a lot of brainpower, but your body will thank you.

Entry level I.T. is far too heavily saturated right now unfortunately, being an employers market plagued with ghost jobs, unrealistic "entry level" qualifications/requirements, low pay and horrible hiring practices make breaking in seemingly impossible. The gatekeeping continues where everyone who started is an expert and giving someone a chance is asking for too much apparently.
I am transitioning out of the IT field. Laid off and I been searching for over year for a spot. Did all trainings, certs, labs, networking, resume edits etc nothing.
Mechanic/AAA Roadside to IT Got my AS in math and science and 10 years of customer service to. I hope to be a cloud security analyst in 5 years with a BS In cybersecurity from wgu and certs
Keep in mind that certificate is not the same as certification, a certificate of completion doesn't provide confidence to the person reading your resume because it's mostly unchecked versus a certification at least would require an actual exam to pass. I would not put any certificate on my resume if I am looking for a role.
He has trained several people who have broken into tech by earning certificates and completing his course. I’d much rather follow his advice. Respectfully

You really need to have all 5 things at the bottom there to be a perfect well rounded candidate. I’m missing the education piece so I’m back at school at WGU.
Community college was useful for me for saving money and getting my general credits out of the way. I didn't really meet anyone and just played video games when I wasn't in class because it was so easy. Once I was in university I met a ton of people and went to a lot more parties... Didn't do anything with my history degree but it was still a good time and helped me build the social skills I use in the office 🤷
I want to get a job working in GRC as a compliance analyst or something similar, would you recommend your cyber course to help someone who wants to work in GRC or is your course more targeted for those that want to work in defense/blue teaming? If not your course can you make a video on what path someone can take to work in GRC with no experience.

By CS do you mean Cybersecurity or Computer Science? Either way, a lot of classes with transfer, but more CompSci classes will transfer than Cyber. And yes, you can finish extremely quickly. WGU usually allows you to transfer up to 75% of your degree. I did this with my CompSci degree and pre-gamed it and was able to graduate CompSci in 2 months.

Most notably, placing Security Plus in progress after getting a Google Cybersecurity certificate might be considered lying on resume in some places. Not to mention illegal in some places like California (look it up). Plus, there s some flaws with the Google Cyber. Jon Good pointed it out, but you chose to ignore it instead of being blunt about it might seem like you pushing for it rather than something recruiters might know well. Also, you seem to have some moments that you tend to be hypocritical about. You keep on saying get Google rather than Security Plus but tend to say Security Plus could be helpful. Like I said, with all due respect.
I heard cybersecurity isn’t entry level you will need to switch later the line … so I’m saying which is best way to enter IT help desk or other technical role like back end or so .. is it easier to get IT help desk if you have some other technical experience?? ( I really didn’t enjoy my backend role )

I'm studying for myself using youtube professor messors content to get the A+ cert and network+ and securtity+ certs. Also just finished google IT support program and going to do the cybersecurity program also on coursera. Once I'm done doing all this I feel I'll have a solid foundation. At that point I plan on enrolling in your course. My question is once enrolled and after doing all the labs and stuff do you get involved and help us with our resumes and portfolios? I'm really good with theory and taking tests but I absolutely suck at being creative and my resume is dogshit lol.. I was just wondering does your course get hands on with the students and help with resumes??
Hey! to answer your question, I don't actually sit down with people and do this, but there is a portfolio and resume section that teaches you how to do everything. I am starting a community where I will spend more time with the audience in a group setting, so you can look into that when it release if you want ^^
