- Lucian Freud was regarded by many as one of the most important painters of modern times. Matthew Cain managed to get an exclusive tour of the studio, which the public will now not get to see.
Beautiful glimpse into such a private world.....
Thank you for this private peek into his studio! a studio tells a lot about the mindset of the artist
The Red Pilgrim It says mess.
Love his work. They are masterpieces!
Amazing artist. An inspiration for me as a painter
thatnks for this. Surely you cannot know how inspiring this is to other devoted artists
His work stands alone.
thanks for lettinng us know more about lucians life
Reminds me of Francis Bacon's studio.
I hope they do the same thing with Freud's studio as they did with Bacon's.
Just what I thought.
What happend to Francis Bacon's studio?
+Lextor Ben "what happened to Francis Bacon's studio" it was surveyed, photographed, drawn and measured piece by piece and removed then recreated exactly as Bacon had left it in Dublin's Hugh lane gallery due to Bacon being Anglo-Irish by birth, although most think it should have remained in London where he spent most of his working life after all..but the Tate did not acquire it,a major loss.
@@Myfactory62 John Edwards, Bacon's heir and Co-executor of his estate did offer first choice of the studio and its contents to the Tate but the Tate did not pursue the donation.
How sweet, …cute little bunnies!
Very interesting.⭐️👍👍⭐️
I would have so loved to have seen a painting of her majesty sprawled nude on a filthy sofa wearing the crown jewels.
Pity!
Es un gran pintor, su estudio uf! Desorden y suciedad.
Still a neater studio than Francis Bacons
Lmfao the dog
Cool
that dog is just soaking it all up
The lead paint rags are piled up next to the radiator.
And have been for decades
The remnants of paints a studio to keep it
A tremendous painter reminds of Pearlstein
its pretty fascinating though.
what a painter. he is missed
ugh i would go nuts if my studio was like that.
zebredpooding He was nuts.
i would think oil stained rags, piled together are a fire hazard? well not now, the oil is dry, but while he was alive and painting.
tubeberk08
myth
lunne1112 oil rags a fire hazard is a myth? what about spontaneous combust?
tubeberk08 its bullshit
lunne1112 i dont think you are correct, of course oily rags in a pile will start a fire, very quick too.
+tubeberk08 Can you elaborate? I have rags of oil (with no drying agents in them) all over the place!
This is the last time we will get to see his studio?
YEAH!!!
Whoohoo!
Thank you, God!
in 2:13 is't it david hockney's portrait by himself? i think it's not freud's painting
It is a portrait of David Hockney done by Freud.
I don't think he's going to get his security deposit back. : ) He left his house and studio to David his assistant? That was nice of him. I'm sure his kids weren't happy about that.
Are there no straight are experts for the channel 4
Never should u touch an artist tools or organize them with out them knowing. It’s disrespectful
Not open for public unlike Pollock and Lee
Bashir bribed him
AHHHHH MY LITTLE CHRISTIAN VIRGIN EYES !!!!!😭😭😭
what a thrash
How Brilliant this man was....Disgusting ..hahaha so what the man was a Genius not a housekeeper.
mmmm looks like a hoarder. I wouldn't want 2 sit on that bed-sorry.
+Darlene Feree as if you would have ever had the chance.
what a mess
I hypothesize that a foreign ear could pick out a homosexual voice compared to a heterosexual voice the majority of the time.
Every Englishman sounds gay.
that studio is disgusting.
This isn't about you.
Studio of painter does not need to be glamour is adequate to who he was and his purpose was his work ,this is what he left behind him, this is what he was focusing on .
Its a mess, like his paintings.
+zebredpooding that's right, focus on the superficial as that interests you the most.
"chaos breeds images"... Francis Bacon.
