Hi Matt, I also have been saddle hunting since 2020. Taken a number of animals from a RCH and DIY sitdrag setup. Finding the right tree without too much lean is imperative for success. Height is only anout 3.5 meters but cover from the ever present grey loeries prying eyes is key. Best of luck!
I tend to hunt game trails and dry rivers. Not water as our african animals are super nervous around water. I also do compromise on height but if wind is good it still works. Sometimes you just have to use a thorn tree. I am not concerned about predators when hanging - its the mambas that scare the sh.. out of me.

I have been saddle hunting here in Africa for 4 yrs. Taken numerous animals over the years. The only way to hunt with a bow!
