GBO2 Gouf: This is no Zaku boy, no Zaku!

- This video contains two recent rated matches I had with the LV4 Gouf on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 250-400 cost raid with high mobility for 250-300 cost, great damage on heat sword and insane downswing power on the heat rod at 350-400 cost. Its weaknesses would be a near complete lack of stun power, very long end lag on heat rod swings and it basically being unsuitable for consistently hunting down supports. I see Gouf as basically a meme or trolling suit like the Gyan is, definitely not a strong choice but it has very ridiculous melee damage output in return for 0 stun output. It basically ignores the normal raid role of hunting supports in return for assisting generals and waiting for them to set it up for it's insane melee output. Both matches here had a high amount of damage but the second one was definitely rough in some areas, so the second one should show just how risky taking the Gouf actually is. The primary ranged weapon of the LV4 Gouf is a finger vulcan with 155 power, 38 ammo, 510 RPM, 4 seconds reload, 0.5 seconds swap time, 200m range, 1318 DPS and 5% stagger value. This can theoretically stagger the enemy in just over two seconds, but the large amount of bullet spreads makes this quite impractical to use. It can mostly hit within 100m range or so, but at this point it is better to just go for melee anyway.
Its primary melee weapon is a heat sword with 2415 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time and 80/64% combo modifier. This has both high base power, great combo modifier and fast swap time. The melee damage is so high that even generals are not safe, but it is hard to exhibit this ginormous power considering the poor stun output.
Its first sub weapon is a heat rod with 1750 power, 6 seconds cooldown, 0.77 seconds swap time, 100% side swing modifier and 300% downswing modifier. This doesn't heavy stagger like other wire type weapons do, but can swing in multiple directions as compensation. The base power seems low but the insane downswing modifier means that a heat rod downswing at 400 cost will do 5250 base damage before melee modifiers, armor or advantage/disadvantage. This is less potent at lower costs due to the 250 cost version starting at 1000 power and increasing at 250 for each level. The downswing has an odd sweet spot where it can only do damage just past the middle part of the rod, but not at the very tip of it. This downswing is both hard to master and has a large amount of end lag, but it can do ridiculous damage even to generals and other raids. After a successful rod downswing you can follow up with a heat sword downswing. It has a wide reaching side swing with the same sweet spot mechanics, but this is best avoided since the end lag makes it next to impossible to close the distance for more melee afterwards.
The LV4 Gouf has 16000 HP, 12 ballistic resist, 8 beam resist and 22 melee resist. It has a solid amount of HP along with high melee resist; but both ranged defences are lacking, especially beam defence. Suits like WD Sniper II can break your legs in an instant, so you will have to be cautious while positioning. LV1-3 Gouf has LV1 Maneuver Armor, but at LV4 it gets LV2 Maneuver Armor. It has no Emergency Evasion.
It also has 138 walking speed, 190 boost speed, 65 thrust and 63 turning speed. This is great mobility for 250-300 cost while still being solid enough for 350-400 cost. You don't have any Forced Injector skill though, so be aware.
Overall I think that Gouf isn't really good at all. If the enemy team is paying attention and playing strong suits, you will basically be unable to do anything for the entire match. It lacks the ability to really go out there and chase the enemy support since it lacks stuns to deal with generals or to confirm its melee against supports, which makes it unable to do the actual job of a raid. It is viable as a meme pick at 400 cost due to the insane damage scaling and granting of LV2 Maneuver Armor; but below this cost you will be constantly hounded by generals like Zaku Marine Type, Aqua GM, Marine Gundam, Zaku II Type FS and Efreet among others. I think it probably deserves a buff. Removing the awful spread from the finger vulcans, reducing end lag on heat rod side swings and granting heavy stagger to heat rod neutral swings could make it more viable while still keeping it from becoming overwhelming with it's melee ability. As a general I have always adored the gouf so when I found out that the gouf VD was a general I was more than ready to go charging in with a bazooka in hand, heat sword on stand by to be followed up with the good old taser whip

Why is every Gouf in this game bad. Its probably the coolest Zeon Suit. Give them a dodge roll the gouf custom dose a dodge roll in the fucking anime.
That rod is deadly, yet so hard to use. x)
Ah the true test if you're a real man like our boy Ramba is to actually land that heatrod downswing for the sweet damage lol. I agree with your recommendations on buffs, since it has insane damage potential they have to be careful balancing it.
