@zakubara4618 Long Before we came to egghead, she predicted that the thing the world government will replace the warlords with was obedient pacifista clones of each of the warlords, using Kuma as the basis. She also predicted that Vegapunk will give them extra abilities.
She pretty much predicted the Seraphims before they were introduced in the story

Worse yet, the only cases of inanimate objects eating fruits is Zoan ones to become animate. Oda could expand the rules but even Punk Hazard stuck to the established Alabasta rules.
@@thelastgogeta Yeah I get the feeling that to circumvent the fact that objects doesn't have a consciousness nor a soul the fruit needs to be of a kind that has a spirit of its own (a fact the Gorosei confirmed during the Nika reveal), thus an animal/zoan 🤷♂️
@@tobiaswedin Ships do canonically have souls though, for instance, the Going Merry had a Klabautermann (basically a ships soul) because it was so loved by the Straw Hats. The Sunny is also just as loved, so in theory it could form a Klabautermann and eat a non-zoan devil fruit.
@@privateportal6969 Correction; we've seen ONE ship that has what Franky described as a fairy on it, that could be interpreted as the soul of the ship. That doesn't make it universal. On the contrary, the worlds best shipwrights on a shipwright island had never seen one before and only thought Klabautermann's were mythological before encountering Merry. That just goes to show how rare they are, maybe one every few generations at best.
Why would it sink? Floating isn't swimming. Some people are just naturally too buoyant to sink. When I was a kid it was physically impossible for me to swim to the bottom of the pool because I was too buoyant.

I actually LOVE the Marineford 2.0 idea, where Elbaf becomes about preparing for Luffy's rescue, and we get to see the Grand Fleet and all the other allies who can make it there, and maybe it even parallels the real Joyboy's story, which we hear about through the giants, and the Straw Hats succeed where Joyboy's crew failed...
It'll never happen, but I can dream.
Regarding the "Luffy getting captured" theory, I can see how it could happen AND we also get Elbaf next, with Elbaf being a parallel to Amazon Lily, where the rest of the crew (in particular Usopp) has to talk-no-jutsu the rest of the Elbaf giants into joining their raid to free Luffy.
Convince the giants to save the sun god?

If there is one thing I’m sure of, it’s that you understand story very well. You understand Oda’s humor, you understand the characters, and you understand the themes very well. Yeah, people do a lot of deep diving into material, but at the end of the day this is a story with story beats. You’ve had great theories and you can give yourself more credit Merphy. I didn’t really watch reviews before I found you reviewing East Blue and the reason I stayed is because of how much you just get it. Your experiences give you a unique understanding of the story and you see a lot of angles a lot of us don’t see.
Having said that, Oda told us in his 2023/2024 message that it would be hard to stop Luffy from getting to “that” island. Everyone assumed that meant Elbaf. I don’t see how it could be anywhere else considering Elbaf is the island fans have been clamoring on about forever. It might also be a red herring. BUT the thing that gets me is that Oda says that it’ll be hard to stop Luffy from getting there. That indicates Luffy will somehow overcome Egghead and look like a force to be reckoned with or it means there could be some unavoidable circumstances that can make that happen - like Kuma or someone/something Paw-pawing the crew to the next island. And no one is dumb for not remembering this quote, I’m just bringing it up because no one ever talks about it and I think it should be something to consider.
luffy getting caught is actually a good one, then there would be an elbaf arc but no luffy, it would be strawhats getting help from shanks and elbaf, usop would be the "captain" and he will prove elbaf king/ prince how worthy they are and make them mobilize the giants army for them
15:55 Ive been saying this theory FOREVER too and I don't think they skip Elbaf, I think Elbaf becomes a sort of training arc for the rest of the strawhats because they KNOW they're not powerful enough to defeat the elders. Im thinking the Vegapunk broadcast reveals Luffy as Nika to the world and so since they werent able to stop that info from getting out the elders restrategize and instead capture Luffy and set an execution date for him as a last ditch effort to squash any hope the people have in resisting and so with a set time of execution the straw hats take it as an opportunity to get stronger in that time so they can go save Luffy
I LOVE the idea of Luffy being the only one who doesn't make it out as some sort of parallel to Sabaody and eventually the whole Marineford Saga. But Elbaf is still my biggest issue with it, cause I hear what you say but I feel like Luffy missing out the whole Elbaf arc is just a no no, like 100% shouldn't and probably wouldn't happen cause it's too hyped of an arc for that, it's like if Luffy would've skipped Enies Lobby, Wano or Fishmen Island, it just doesn't feel right to me.
I do think that there are alternatives to make it work, like the idea that Luffy only skips a let's say "half" of the Elbaf arc, maybe the one fully centered around giants (with the Loki subplot as that would leave lots of room for Ussop to play a main role there) and once the crew rescues him they all go back to Elbaf "to rest" and *then* the 2nd half of Elbaf starts with a another conflict: Shanks.
If this whole thing were to happen, I definitely think Shanks would make a move to help Luffy (regardless if they compete against each other afterwards), in fact, maybe his crew would be the perfect characters to train the strawhats in the 1st half of Elbaf in order to rescue Luffy, plus the escape could easily be written in a way that shows Luffy and Shanks as equals, thus, becoming the last straw (yohoho) needed to finally get their reunion, but then everything would be placed for something like the heavily theorized Davy Back Fight between the two crews, but will all of them having a "Master vs Pupil" dynamic.
My theory has always been that elbaf is like zou or jaya and serves as a transition arc

I've been watching your content for months now, and I always watch your manga reviews after finishing an anime (Vinland saga, one piece arcs, hunter x hunter) it's like talking to a friend, thank you for posting your thoughts in this form, I love listening to them, I was hesitating to start frieren but then your RUclips short came to my fyp and now I'm gonna start watching it❤❤
I doubt the motherflame would get called at this point. From chapter 1111 we can already see that the Gorosei are insurmountable at this point with even Luffy (the guy who said he would never run away again) telling Dorry and Broggy verbatim "screw it we need to go we can't win this". I think the Gorosei are probably the peak threat we're getting, they just have yet to fully show what they can do.

I don't think Kuma will end up sacrificing himself for the crew to escape. Not only does it seem too obvious, it just feels like it's repeating the same story beats from his flashback. It'll be incredibly difficult for Oda to write it such that his sacrifice hits as hard as his flashback, and reduce his character to merely a martyr when I feel like it's got so much more potential. Instead, I think Kuma will TRY to be a martyr, but will be stopped by Bonney and the straw hats(who are responding to Bonney's plea). I think the message of "You have suffered and sacrificed enough, let us protect you this one time instead" is way more powerful than "Kuma sacrifices himself for like the fifth time"
But choosing to save Kuma will come at a cost. It'll be the crew rejecting the easy way out of the island, and they will have to make other sacrifices in order to save Kuma. Perhaps they use the broadcast as a decoy, keeping it unprotected while they escape leading to the broadcast being intercepted before it can finish. Maybe Franky DOES press the self destruct button to destroy the island to cover their escape. Perhaps the straw hats will have to split up again in order to make their escape in smaller groups. Or maybe the giants stay behind instead to stall the elders and die in battle that way. There's lots of possibilities, but I do believe the arc will end in the crew paying a price to choose to protect Kuma.
My gut tells me that Lucci will powerup after Egghead by being forcefed by imu/gorosei in some form. I dont recall someone getting jobbed that bad in the series. Like I understand that it shows how powerful the crew now are. Its just that Lucci's desire for revenge against Strawhats feels so incredibly strong. As to how, they can do it by using Lucci as the prototype to do what Blackbeard did which is having two devil fruits.
I don't know specifically know how it'll end, but I bet I'll be in tears of either joy or sadness
I know this is a long shot but I'm seriously thinking Sentomaru gets the paw-paw fruit by the end of the arc and maybe even becomes a straw hat.
1) sentomaru was introduced with _bears_ there's no one else besides minks and kuma who have any relation to bears.
2) sentomaru was self-sacrificial for VP, Luffy won't ignore that, he's got that SH vibe in that regard
3) if kuma does end up dying on Egghead, I believe all the flora on egghead is fake so Nami's tangerines may be the most likely place for the fruit to respawn and no other straw hat really wants a devil fruit
4) sentomaru has a lot of shoving attacks, which reminds me of the paw-paw cannon
5) sentomaru likes luffy, remember in return to sabaody that he referred to demaro black as a waste of space and according to sentomaru luffy isn't a bad person
6) sentomaru cannot return to the navy as he is a traitor so he has nowhere to go
7) he gives me SH vibes and with the paw-paw fruit he would be absolutely helpful for our weak trio.

Luffys final power up will be him literally becoming the nika shadow in turn truly becoming the most free being, and allowing him to attack the elders, imu and Blackbeard. With their abilities being shadow ones.

Not going to lie Thousand Sunny eating the Paw Paw Fruit messed me up because I like it 😂 they have Vegapunk, the man with the tech and brains to make objects eat Devil Fruits.
I don’t want Kuma to die, but if he does I’m still predicting that the fruit will end up with Vivi somehow. I’m hoping she goes to Elbaf since she was there in Little Garden when the crew was adamant about making it there someday, so it seems like the ideal place for a reunion
I love the implication that Mars having mr.1’s sword power and Saturn having Magellan’s venom mixed with mr 5’s explosion give me so much ideas about devil fruits, mostly about how devil fruits are made or sourced directly from the Elders or Imu’s DNA or Bloodline.
People don't pay attention to details
It was shown in episode 514 I believe that Franky got the blueprints to feed zoan devil fruits to objects so Sunny were to EVER eat one it would be a Zoan because that's the only type of fruit objects CAN eat
And sure that scene was "filler" but the studio is constantly consulting with Oda and that scene is way too specific for the studio to just think about it themselves
The sunny eating the paw paw fruit comment made me think that maybe Vegapunk was able to do something with spirits similar to the one merry had to give objects their own fruits.
My dumb theory is 5 elders are actually satellites for Imu like Vegapunk has his satellites

The splitting of the straw hat crew members is actually a very much needed thing again. The more the things going on with other members is going to allow them to be able to make their own crew overall much more useful as things progress.
The higher bounties an one of the ladies(Robin mainly for Saul) go an the others could go with bonney til they meet the others later.

Something everyone seems to assume is that crew is actively trying to get Vegapunk's message out. That isnt a goal for them. They just wanna get him and themselves off the island
I like this Luffy gets captured theory he gets captured like every arc.
It would explain why he's gotten so much screen time on egghead, and it would make usopp play the role of leader/captain on elbaf to recruit the giants for breaking Luffy out.
This would also mean gear 5 can't just mollywop any problems they run into, and the government might not want Luffy dead to avoid letting the nika fruit reappear in the wild.
The mirror to sabody is a great point because in that arc we watched from luffy's perspective as he fought without his crew this would be the inverse of the crew without their captain

Bonny is joining the crew. Since we first met the supernovas I’ve always wondered about her the most, the first time we see her is in luffy style eating a crap tone. Figured that was a clue she would be important.

Sunny eating the paw paw broke my head, but every non living thing we've seen "eat" a devil fruit had a Zoan type. What if a Klabautermann can eat it though? I mean they seem to have some control over the ship as it's spiritual manifestation. But they are listed on the wiki as "water spirit" (or fairy) can a water being survive a devil fruit? Fishman can, but spirits? If a boat eats a zoan type devil fruit, does the boat sink, float or swim in water?
A way for Franky to push the self destruct button and the Straw Hats + the legacy of Vegapunk still come out on top would be if he accidentally destroyed the lab that contains the mother flame. The sole thing on Egghead that the Gorosei wants to keep. As long as any one of the satellites survives it can be rebuilt when the Gorosei no longer pose a threat.
I really like the Mr. Morj Theory, I Mu will try to use the mother flame on Egg head, but kisaru sacrifaces himself using his awakening to stop the complete destruction of the insland revealling how the hole in Enies Lobby was made in the first place (A previous user of the Light fruit, did the same thing there and that is why Its always day in Ennies Lobby)
I could see for the theory of Luffy getting captured, the rest of the crew going to Elbaf briefly beforehand as a means to plan and gather allies and for necessary character moments for Ussop and Robin. Then with all allies and new powers in tow, they head off to save Luffy as the theory states. I agree that i would rather Elbaf be first, but with that theory it doesn’t necessarily take that option away.

My theory is that the goat that is always next to senGoku is actually a printer who ate the goat goat fruit, and everytime there is a new bounty we see senGoku feeding that goat the picture of the bounty so that it shits out a wanted poster
What if Franky sacrifices his body to blow up the lab, but his head (plus the few other things he needs to be alive) is still intact, and that is how he fuses with the sunny? And he can most likely hop into another body he has made or will make, down the line.

Bonnie will be the strawhat's cabin girl. The blackbeard pirates are there to plunder the hoard of devil fruits on the island, and the data on devil fruit. Kuma merges with the sunny becoming the spirit of the Go, after he sacrifices himself to save everyone.

If you were a weekly reader during enies lobby and thriller bark, you wouldn't think there would be sabaody, amazon lily, impeld down and Marineford before we got to fishman island. Elbaf could be in 200 chapters.

I think the gorosei will succeed in stopping HALF of the broadcast, or in other words we'll only get to see the first half of Vegapunk's message.
My reasoning is that this is the five elders' debut on the battlefield, and as the endgame antagonists they NEED to establish themselves as massively dangerous threats, which their introduction in this arc needs to reinforce as much as possible. Currently, they are the most dangerous they ever will be; they have the elements of both the initiative AND a lack of understanding on their side. In future arcs we can expect to learn more about how to damage/defeat them, as we make plans to bring the fight back to the elders on our terms, which will lead to them feeling more manageable. And that's why this first outing of theirs cannot end in a complete failure. If the straw hats manage to protect the broadcast all the way till it finishes, that represents such a complete and utter defeat of the elders that I just cannot see happening.
At the same time though, completely stopping the broadcast is such a spit in the face at Vegapunk's sacrifice. In some other stories I could see that happening as a way to really double down on the tragedy, but I just don't think One Piece is that kind of story. Vegapunk's broadcast needs to have SOME kind of effect, even if it's not entirely what he hoped for.
That's why I think stopping the broadcast halfway makes the most sense. Vegapunk could reveal enough to spark further flames of rebellion around the world, and yet have the broadcast end early to preserve the darkest secrets of the Void Century from getting through. This last secret will be lost when the elders finally cut off the broadcast, and it will be up to Robin to rediscover the secrets of the Void Century through other means.
I haven't finished the video yet, but my theory is that the egghead incident is revealing the Gorosei in their demon forms on the broadcast to the entire world. I know grandlinereview said this as well, but that is a reveal that could shake up the world.
The tinfoil hat theory at 15:41 is one that I had long before Wano ended (even pre Gear 5). In my theory we wouldn't have skipped Elbaf because all straw hats would have raced to gather support for the rescue of Luffy - and Usopp would have been chosen to go to Elbaf to do this. It's a little more unlikely now because I don't think that the Gorosei will only want to capture Luffy. But maybe there is a reason why they can't kill him yet.
It would be cool if the elders are like the dreadgods from Cradle, in that if one dies his power is divided between the others and makes them more powerful, then even when they find out how to kill them they are not sure if they should do it because the remaining ones might become unbeatable
There was a serious lack of Seraphim mention. I still think they will play a major role at the end of the arc. Especially since s shark can use paw paw fruit.
I think one of the elders to the mother flame would be a good way to show how expendable everyone, even the elders, are to emu
we know that the Mink Tribe live on the travelling elephant backside on the Island of Zou but I believe that we might see a larger tribe of Minks on Elbaf where the Minks used to live before embarking on Zunisha in reference to the Rainbow Bridge a heaven where dead pets live in popular culture & a reference to the Rainbow Bridge of Norse myth.
A bit late to the party but my theory that hasn't come up yet is that the Gorosei do manage to stop the broadcast at the last moment before Vegapunk starts the real message. There will be reactions shown from all around the world wondering what happened. The Gorosei will act triumphant and gloat about their victory.
But then, the broadcast starts back up again with Vegapunk speaking something like, "If you're seeing this, that means the World Government has succeeded in stopping my announcement. Therefore, what I have to say next can be construed to be the undeniable truth." And then proceeds to say what he intended to say, much to the chagrin of the Gorosei.
We for sure aren’t getting the lore. Wouldn’t be surprised if the reveal starts and we get paw paw’d at the same time.

That would be interesting to see, although the sunny hasnt show us a klabauterman yet. They also left the ship 2 years at a port, while it was regularly attacked, and drove it off off a waterfall so it might not really dig the strawhats right now.
The broadcast is coming from Vegapunk he said his head is an antenna
kuma paw paws strawhats away , fights the gorosei while the broadcast is revealed and kizaru helps kuma , dragon and revolutionaries show up , imu calls gorosei back to marijoa and blowup egghead and kizaru dies along with it , while kuma escapes along with revs , dies on the way and is buried in the sorbet church next to ginny while the revs pay respect...Coincidentally vegapunk is buried on elbaph with robin and saul along with SH paying their respect
Running with the theory at 15:30 Kuma could send the rest of the crew to Elbaph after Luffy is captured, further mirroring Sabaody

Please read chainsaw man or any of tatsuki fujimotos work his art style and storytelling are drastically different from any other mangaka that I’ve seen and his work is really a breath of fresh air
I really can't imagine the gorosei capturing Luffy with any way to free him.. the only reason not to kill Luffy if they'd be able to capture him would be if they have a tested way to extract the devil fruit.
If they are able to do that within Mary geoise he could be captured but the crew would maybe have a day or two at most to save him before he dies
