It’s been a long road, but we’ve finally reached the grand finale of our 1971 Ford Econoline revival! After rescuing this van alongside Derek from Vice Grip Garage, we quickly discovered it had more problems than we could have ever expected. The original engine was toast, leading to a budget build Ford 300 straight-six, with the goal of keeping costs under $300. Now, it all comes down to this-will it finally run and drive well enough to find a new home, or was this entire project a terrible mistake?
But of course, nothing goes smoothly in The Questionable Garage. A crucial discontinued gasket threatens to shut everything down. With no replacement available, Jared takes a high-tech gamble, using the Creality Falcon A1 10W Laser to cut a brand-new gasket from scratch. This might be a game-changer or a complete waste of time and effort-either way, it’s our best shot.
Will this Econoline finally behave and prove that determination can bring anything back to life, or will it be dragged right back into the hole where it was found? Can we drive it more than the original 5 miles, or is this van simply cursed?
Find out in the epic conclusion of the Econoline saga, and let us know in the comments-was this project worth saving, or should we have walked away?
