Some say that OHC 2-valve system made it so smooth. Others complain that 4-valve DOHC is exactly what is missing to make it comparable with Mercedes of that time. This engine could make 550 bhp with supercharger and upgraded cooling. I think for cruising in regular traffic and higway flight it's more than enough... Mechanics say that the next gen V12 DOHC used for BMW 760i was a disaster after higher mileage....or was it only matter of keeping right maintenance? So was the original simplier motor the right one in the end if still runs today and has no problem burning high octane propane fuel?
