My Dad has had pairs of these shoes since I was a kid. I am now 26. Went home for Easter and saw a pair next to the treadmill. You ask all these dad’s and they don’t have much to say about them. I think the monarch IV’s represent Dad’s and their lack of interest in modern style and more so towards comfort and simplicity. At the same time you have to be a really good Dad to buy this shoe because part of the departure from being “cool and stylish” due to putting more attention into your children and family. My Dad probably bought monarch iv’s over whatever because style became such a low priority compared to providing for me and my mom. Perhaps he thought “If I buy these shoes that are cheaper I can use the money I saved on (insert good Dad selflessness.)”

I am a teacher, and on Fridays, we are allowed to dress more casual. I like to rock different sneaks every week. It is great to see the students walk by and their eyes drop to see what I'm wearing. I've even had students I don't even know talk about how many shoes I have or how much they like the kicks I'm rockin. That said, the rest of the week, I usually wear dress shoes or some cheap hiking shoes. I feel like to truly live up to my sneakerhead persona, I should get some Air Monarchs for my everyday shoes.

PuertoBlack nothing but af1 white lows for that guy. He has so many pairs of that one shoe. He wears them with stone washed jeans, true story. I shake my head at old people with monarchs.
Frank Fernandez can’t go wrong with a low top white AF1. I’m a Nurse and all I see is Monarchs, New Balance, a couple of ASICS and “other” on older people.

I'm 42 and I love these shoes. I got them a few years ago, I wear them everyday and they're still in great condition...... I wasn't sure about them at first but they are comphy and I'm gonna buy another pair, the ones with the red colouring
Here in Spain, dad shoes are mainly from a brand called J´Hayber, also Nike budget models like Tanjun or Revolution. Dad of the year!
I bought this exact pair and swapped out the white with blue laces that match the shoe colors; its a decent 90's retro-mid. At 55, sure I'd agree its the 'safe-bet' dad or grand-dad shoe. But its also a later 80's to 90's look retro shoe. They are very comfortable as well as well built and are one of my every day work/office shoes. I also have a pair of stadium 90's that are very comfortable for a mid.
Foamie and Buckets have evolved their content. It is dynamic, engaging, and filled with emotion.

I've tried the regular size of this shoe and it was super tight so I opted for the extra wide it fits well but it makes my feet look big, not sure if anyone had the same issue
