I see you are one of the good guys who actually remove all the snow from your roof. Great job. Great video.

AWD + good tires, you’re golden.
FWD/RWD then you’ll need to swap tires twice a year (snow & all season).

Been driving for fifty five years and I just don't know how we managed with those rear wheel drive vehicles for all of those years. Todays drivers would be so screwed.

Tires tires tires… I recommend the michelin crossclimates for basically a snow tire that you can leave on all year round. Best tires Ive ever owned, worked great on my awd Santa Fe. OEM tires especially on 21” wheels are going to be horrible in the snow.

You just cannot convince young drivers as to the drastic difference winter tires make. There was a time when people just bought winter tires. No more, shame so many will never experience the drastic difference winter tires make. They need to go to a tire store and look at the difference in tread between all season and winter tires. Yes, you need to see them in person. Not a picture on a damn phone.

@@scrambler69-xk3kv i agree. Im only 28 but even on my first car which was a fwd jetta gli, I had a set of blizzaks for winter. Luckily this next gen of “all weather” tires (CC2, quatrac-pro, etc) are basically like all seasons on steroids. Good enough in the winter to not need designated snow tires, but can use them all year round.

I agree to disagree front wheel drive isn’t going to out perform a all wheel drive vehicle I’m 44 I live in Wisconsin I have had a lot of vehicles and no is all I’m saying

You are correct and I hope it didn't come across that I thought FWD would match or best AWD. What I was trying to communicate is that with good tires, FWD is fine for the majority of conditions. Wisconsin may be different but there is an obsession with AWD in the northeast and people assume you absolutely need it.

I would put a front wheel drive with four winter tires against a four -wheel drive with all seasons any day of the week. Been driving in snow for fifty-five years now. A hell of a lot of years with rear wheel drive and winter tires. Plowed snow working for a school district for thirty -five years, many nights of getting to the schools, we had six schools by the way at midnight to one am on unplowed roads. Lot of experience and winter tires make a drastic difference. You not only have to go but stop and go around turns as well. If you slide and wipe out a young family because you are too damn cheap to buy winter tires, I have no use for you.

@@scrambler69-xk3kv now we are talking about different types of tires well I didn’t know we had options hell I’m going with a set of 4 snow tires on my all wheel drive and who said we are going out getting crazy in the snow putting people life in danger that’s just nonsense. But you can’t say tire for tire vehicles same except front vs all that the all would not out perform the other
