Raul Espinoza Exactly, I feel like Apple can do no wrong. The Desire EYE may not be a superior offering, but at least they trying. The iPhone 6 is officially a year behind spec wise to some mid-tier phones but it's the superior phone with 1 GB of RAM, which they'll say is awesome. It still has an 8MP rear camera that can't shoot 4K video, yet they'll say it's still the best camera in the business. The new iPhone is not that great. If it were a truly top tier phone I would eat my words but this time around all they have going for them is Android screen sizes from 2012 and hype.
***** In theory..yes. However there is nothing special about the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus' display except it is very close to the glass. It is an LED backlit IPS display higher than 720p for the iPhone 6, and 1080p for the iPhone 6 Plus. it is not a "retina" display. That in itself is a marketing term to describe what else...pixel density. When the iPhone 4 came out, it had a density of 330ppi within a 3.5" display and had the highest resolution for any phone at the time at 640 x 960. Apple was boasting on the same IPS technology that its pixel density would be the highest of any smartphone. Apple would be able to tote this fact for almost 2 years until 2012 when HTC made the Butterfly/Droid DNA with a 5" Super LCD3 display at 1080p...a whopping 441ppi. Of course Verizon did not advertise this as the iPhone 5 was out, and Apple pays the carriers well to keep other phones at bay. However, the same year LG had the Nexus 4/Optimus G which has a resolution of 1280 x 768 in a 4.7" display with 318ppi. Now the iPhone 5 has a 4" display @ 640 x 1136 with 326ppi. You still think Apple had the better screen? Nope the coin tern of "retina" quietly went away because @ 4.7 inches the LG phone still had as many pixels with in a bigger display. Also who is a big manufacturer of IPS displays of any kind, LG. So it's the same display commonly found in a lot of smartphones. When you make statements like that, back them up.
How does it keep the water resistance rating if the charging port is not covered?? No review seems to address how this is done!? I want to buy this when it's out so just curious. Can anyone answer this?
Grate phone I just got one from eBay for 300£. Battery life is excellent and extremely fast , lo lags or over hitting. Highly recommended to all . HTC is a very good choice .
HTC are going crazy with some of their marketing techniques, some will fail. Especially RE. This seems good, but i get a feel the price will be high. ofcourse, it's HTC
Is it just me or it does beat the M8 ? aside of it being plastic I don't see any major reason to go for the M8 instead of this one . the camera is ought to be better than the m8's and yeah in terms of CPU the m8 is better but until now I am rocking my old s2 and there's nothing that Tue old dual core I have didn't manage to run so the CPU difference between the eye and the m8 isn't a huge deal... This thing is a beast !
Same hardware except for the cameras. So yeah, in some way it's better. If you care about the design and the hands-on feeling then the M8 is better. If cameras are your thing, than the Eye is the king
How can you make 7 videos about phone and didn't even turn it on? WTF PhoneArena?
he is not allowed to turn the phone on
So a 1080p 5.2" display is pretty good...yet the iPhone 6 is not 1080p and they'll say that screen is awesome.
Right! Complaining that its not quad HD but praise the iPhone 6 display which is 750p

bvzxa3 Yeaaahhh.. IDK why they praise the iPhones so much. *shrugs*
There is more to a screen than the amount of pixels.

HTC. Put this camera on the back of the One M8! China is getting a version like that, but I want one in NA!
HTC desire eye, Sony xperia z3 , or iPhone 6?
Do you know it's price? I need to know, so I can order for Christmas

They probably put nano tech or waterproof technology inside the port
Dude did a hands on and not once did he turn on the damn screen to show us the interface... Did he even mention the interface!
Expected price range ???

Um, you didnt bother to turn on the phone.
Didn't mention anything about boomsound.... how does it compare to the M8's?
For all I know Boomsound speakers are still there, audio quality is still unkown. We'll have to wait for a full review to find out
I know they're still there but i fear they're going to be on the mute side compared to my m7 and more so the m8 due to their rather narrow openings.
shoots some photos at dark places and complains that the photos are full of noise. John V., that's the purpose of a front flash. Just my two cents.
The screen is 5.2 inch, not 5 inch.
Yeah 5.2
Aperture has nothing to do with the wideness of the lens...Maybe try mm's and i don't mean m&m's..

Butterfly 2 for me.

Exactly . For a " mid range " phone this thing is just awesome .
Does it have every feature that are in one M8? The USB OTG feature?
mahendar hariharan I think so, yeah. I think the only feature that's missing from the M8 is the IR blaster
متى بينزل فالشرق الأوسط !!؟
OIS...
Too big :( Would buy if it were at most 4.8"
Illuminati
5:29 what the fck is that?
"Yeah, it's a phone and all that, whatever. Let's talk about it's mediocre cameras with average features for half the video."

Really, poor performance in low light. Use the flash come on. I'm sorry but this guy was not prepared at all for this hands-on.
