    Dude, I love this channel. As an audio nerd, you make some awesome content.
    As a video creator myself, I figured I may share an idea: perhaps include some extra visuals on top of your commentary. Maybe a frequency visualizer? I do a ton of visual and animation work, always feel free to reach out!

      Dude that’d be awesome! Anyway you could get ahold of me on my IG or through email? I’d love to see what you could possibly do or suggest. I’m always looking to improve on my videos and you’re right, that’s one thing I’ve been lacking on. I don’t want my videos to be one long boring sit down kind of video. I wanna add cool stuff in them to keep you guys interested but I’m so bad when it comes to that stuff. I’ve been saying this for awhile, I need an editor lol. If you could get ahold of me that’d be cool man I’d love to see what we can do! 🙌

    I have this preamp and was experiencing a hum and buzz in my home vocal recordings about 6 or 7 years ago. I reached out to all the guitar forums and everyone said it wasn't a good preamp and shouldn't be in my chain. I moved houses and found that while it is a noisy preamp it was not responsible for my problems. It's a great preamp for the price! And I use it for my 18i8's rear input that don't have a dedicated preamp. I did upgrade it to tongsol gold tubes!

    You're right that preamp rocks after testing it I went and got the A.R.T 2 tps on the A.R.T. 2 tps I did change the tube to a 12XA7A tung sol gold pins from Russia and have been happy ever since, I also have the warm audio tb12 tonebeast and didn't do as well I expected.

      That’s awesome man these preamps from art are really slept on in my opinion. I still can’t believe it was only $50. My big thing is, if I know it works with the sm7b, chances are it’ll work with 99% of other microphones I may wanna use it with making it such a great value. I’m interested in changing the tube out on this unit too though what would you suggest? Appreciate you stopping by though! 🙌

    • @kaisersoze9488
      @kaisersoze9488 3 года назад +1

      Don't change that particular tube in your art preamp that tube is awesome when I changed the tube on mines I had to switch back to the original that it comes with. If you do get the A.R.T. 2 tps I would consider changing it because that tube is not a good tube, but for that particular preamp don't change it is good enough trust me I've done it....good video by the way.

      Really warm and open up top, but honestly you can use any 12ax7 or 12at7 tubes. I think the preamp takes 2 tubes? If so make sure you get 2 of the same. It’s not hard to replace them at all just be careful taking it out you don’t want to break anything. It’s usually a plastic housing and the tube is stuck in there pretty good so kind of wiggle it out slowly in a rocking back n forth rotating way and it should come out smooth.

      @UndergroundSoundProductions  3 года назад +3

      Yeah but those are crazy expensive pieces bro. The video is more geared to people looking to buy a cloudlifter because you could end up buying two pieces of gear which will make a way bigger impact on your overall quality than just 1 inline preamp that’s only sole purpose is to just add gain. Finding cheap yet amazing quality analog gear is difficult and if that’s what you’re after I recommend the two mentioned in video

    It still get's treated like the forgotten red-headed step kid.
    I've changed out the tube in this thing with 5 or 6 tubes to get a slightly different sound with each one.
    You can still find them cheap online, hell you can get one for each tube.....I might just do that actually
    They're not 50 dollars anymore though. More like 85-140
    For that gain, you still won't get anything at that price point

    Well the thing is though,,, the art tube mp has a hum in most of them, if you get one without great! But also the pres are actually pretty decent but nothing to amazing, changing the tubes work amazing on it even though it doesn’t get much of the tube it still works a bit, the cloudlifter gives the sm7b more impedance, which does infact made the sm7b sound better, but if I was on a budget going for a good pre would be the ART trans x ,,,, it has an impedance knob plus a low cut and you can drive the pre high and then turn the trim down to get that nice lush sound with the sm7b , it is about $500 Canadian , but you get 2 pres that are reviewed to be pretty much up there with the top pres out there. Should check it out for a review on you’re channel, would be awesome
