GTN 650/750 - for VOR identification:
If it shows the station identifier "in text", (right below the frequency) when you are on the NAV frequency, that confirms the system has "heard" the Morse Code and no need to reconfirm that the station is usable (per Garmin course I just took). This saves steps having to go to the audio panel and listen and then go back. As such, you don't need to go to the audible Morse Code to identify the station is active and usable. IF YOU DO NOT see the "text", then the Morse Code has NOT been identified and as such, the station is currently unusable. You can then listen to confirm if necessary, but it likely then means the station is out of service if the text is not displayed when tuned to the VOR. This is a major convenience feature of the
    GTN 650/650 series of navigators.

Could have mentioned the cone of silence above the VOR when the to/from flips and why the needle indicator is unreliable during that period.
But a very good explanation on tracking and intercepting VORs.

Yeah they didn't talk about how VORs work in this video. Very interesting tech

Could you do the same intercepting a VOR Course with the GFC500 autopilot ?

Yes, you can select NAV on the GFC500 and it will navigate to the active CDI, which you can set to the VOR. You still need to have VOR receivers and the GTN650 to read the data, but yes you can autopilot on these courses.

How stupid to wear masks. It’s just to aggravating to watch.
