    Issues that should be monitored;
    Parasite resistance to chemical wormers. Over time, genetic resistance can be lost.

      That would be a BIG mistake. You're talking about 63yrs span, from 1960- 2023. Look at China one child policy. Their population is shrinking big time, The Chinese govt has been begging the people to have more kids in the last 4yrs. That needle hasn't moved.

    I am going to get downvoted by some well-intentioned do-gooders, but really, we should all be highly suspicious of any effort to move a population to a "more western diet." All the fat people in the world are westerners or people who've been introduced to a western diet (see the middle class Chinese). In America in particular, people have terribly cramped mouths and impacted wisdom teeth from years of eating soft baby foods, eventually forcing them to have their wisdom teeth surgically removed. Go and walk around Vientiane and see how many people are overweight -- there are virtually none and even less so in the countryside. Then go and ask those same people how many of them have their wisdom teeth removed, also none. To say nothing of hypertension and cholesterol and other diet related problems.

    • @mohdnasimhamayon5721
      @mohdnasimhamayon5721 Год назад +2

      The intention here is to provide protein to the children of Laos , especially in the rural areas where malnutrition is rampant. No one is trying to westernize their diet. People in the Indian subcontinent also consume milk , does that categorize them as having a western diet ? Please do not bring up these conspiracy theories into such issues. If anything the efforts of these Australians should be commended and appreciated.

My first reaction to this story was to laugh and say well that is at least 1 good use for carbon credits. The hypocrisy is deep when some forests get planted for carbon credits and are not looked after = dead saplings that find it hard to grow into a tree = how on earth is that helping carbon sequestration.
