That fourth one looks like a Spyderco "R" (Just called the R) with Black Nishijin scales. That was a sprint run in 2012, only 1000 were made. The 8th one is the Spyderco Caly3 (or the 3.5 hard to tell the size in the picture) in Black Carbon Fiber and Damascus steel. Another sprint run of 1000 made in 2012.
Thank you so much! We'll pin this comment so everyone can see it. You, sir, have an encyclopedic knowledge of Spyderco. The knife community is lucky to have you! -George
It is actually a C67GF, often called "R2" (because the original R was from 1999) with Black Nishijin Glass Fiber handle. The 8th one is a C113CFPD "Caly 3". The automatic one is a C117P "Citadel", ca. 2008-2011.
@@Murdoc370 I tend to group them together because of the shape but you are correct, it is technically the R2. Its actually still listed (though discontinued) on the Official Spyderco page if you search for 'R Nishijin Glass Fiber Sprint Run'. The page actually gives a good description of the carbon fiber material used in the handle: "The handle is Japanese Nishijin glass fiber. The name Nishijin references a specific weave pattern, used in the production of silk Kimono cloth. It is manufactured by weaving glass fibers (thinner than a human hair), together in a geometric pattern and then impregnating the fibers into polymer base. The outcome is a lightweight, ultra-strong handle material that has an attractive three dimension appearance."
@@doejon9424 You're right, I remember now that the one I recall being referred to as "R2" was actually the 2005 sprint run version (#C67GY) of the skeletonized aluminium-handle Original "R" (C67) which came out in 1999. I own one of the 2005 R2 models. The glass fiber version C67GF came another 7 years later :), some even nickname it the R3.
I find the model number not that irrelevant though, because it identifies the model, and the letters let you know something about the "subtype", in this case "GF", most likely for "Glass Fiber", and, if applicable, the edge configuration (e.g. P for "plain", S for "serrated").
@@doejon9424 So do I 🙂, I've been in the Spyderco collecting game for decades and was active in the forums. I did not invent the R2 nickname, it is just what everybody was calling it when it was released in 2005. I was there 🧓
You can find the same designation e.g. in the spydiewiki, together with the model numbers, or in all the posts in the Spyderco Forum mentioning this knife, even by key Spyderco employee Kristi (TazKristi) when announcing the model in the Spyderco Forum posting from 07 Jun 2005 17;45, for example.
But of course, you are right and we are in agreement that the C67GY R was not routinely designated "R2" by Spyderco, hence you can't find it under this name in the print catalogs, but if you check the official Spyderco Online catalog, you will see they do in fact call it R 2 themselves.
However, regarding the knife shown in the video, the C67GF, the nickname "R3" never really caught on, so you're right it is best to just call it an "R" 😌
More collection videos like these! Many watch channels do these, and they're exactly the kind of brainless "purdy knafs" content that most of us like :D
Will do! We have several more Mr. H collection videos coming soon! -George
You speak the truth. I really enjoyed this video.
Thanks for sharing, Mr. H… always fun to see a knife collection. Can’t wait to see more
This was great! Loved the connection George had with Mr. H. as well. Good job!
What a cool choir teacher. 👍👍 My choir teacher in middle school taught fly tying to kids after school. He started a lot of kids on a good path much like your teacher did.
Why are choir teachers randomly the coolest people? I'd love to study this scientifically. -George
@@BladeHQ shoot, just happens to be that lots of teachers are cool influential people. I had another teacher, a math teacher that ran the fly fishing club in highschool. What a fun club that was. Too bad there were no knife clubs. LoL
Mr. H is a beauty. A true role model. Seeing someone's passion for something at an early age is all the spark you need. I got mine from my cousins and watches.
By the way, Do Not Get Into Watches. -Shabazz
He is definitely one of my heroes. His passion for knives is palpable, but you should see his trombone collection.... Don't get into trombones either! -George
That’s so awesome, he’s my hero! 55 years of collecting knives!! So wicked!
The knife after the Bob Lum Chinese is a C67GF "R" with Black Nishijin Glass Fiber handle.
The original R came with skeletonized Aluminium handles in 1999, and as a Sprint Run again in 2005 (nicknamed "R2").
The model shown here was the last R, a Sprint Run with 1000 pieces from 2012.
You're the man! I had the name Ninja in my head but I knew it was wrong.
Wow I really enjoyed getting to know Mr H on here. He seems like a super great guy. I look forward to much much more content with him in it. Thanks everyone at BHQ!!!
Great video! Can't wait to see more of his collection!
The automatic one is a C117P "Citadel", ca. 2008-2011. There was another one (shorter, as mentioned) C119P (83mm).
My first Spyderco was the Worker, bought in 1981'ish ... serrated blade, squared edged stainless scales and the first knife that l ever saw with a "hole in the blade". It was love at first sight and while l was flicking it open, while driving in the car ride home from the Sportman's show, l gave myself a nice cut. Beautiful !
That was a great video , so awesome to see someone who’s been collecting for a long time. Plus m a spyderco fan as well
I still have a vintage endura with plastic clip and combo edge, use it all the time. I also have that spydercard with plain edge and the byrd versions as well, one plain edge and the other combo edge. They are awesome.
Love this style of content, and the host (sorry I forget his name) just gets better and better. To nitpick though, I really think some full side on profiles in addition to, or instead of, the close up pics would be much better. Or at least to my preference. Just didn't feel like I got a decent look at those rare classics.
Thanks for the feedback! We'll apply it! -George
It’s great to see such a nice collection of vintage Spydies! I still have my Clipit Delica, and Rescue, from the mid 90’s.
The Manix in the video is also a Manix 2 it just the earlier version that was in hollowground. The Original Manix is the bigger C95 or the smaller Mini Manix the last one is where the Manix 2 is based on. These originals are lockbacks and they were so good so strong they even brake locktesting machines. People talk about demko locks these days but those original lockback Manixes are just as tough as any demko lock out there.
The auto is called the Citadel and I have the same one but mine is all black. The action is impressive, although a bit less today.
Spyderco made some fantastic autos.
For real! I wish they'd bring that last one back, it's incredible. -George
My only automatic is a benchmade 9400 & holy crap that knife is worth every penny! So many interesting makes & models
Any Benchmade Osborne design tickles my fancy, and you're right. They are worth every penny. -George
The one with bolsters, carbon fiber handles and laminated blade is a C113CFPD "Caly 3" from 2012 (Sprint Run).
I thought that’s what that was!
Great video! Always love the chance to see some older Spyderco knives, would have been nice to get a little better look at them though. Just saying, thanks fellas.
This is a great video. I think spyderco is one of the better looking knives ever. His collection is so great. Please show more.
Beautiful Collection.
When Mr. H came to the office, he brought two suitcases and a backpack full of knives! We have a couple more Mr. H videos coming out, but his collection is so deep, we could make a year's worth of content on just that! -George
Fun video! Keep these coming!
Yes sir! -George
Nice! I'm only up to about 12 Spyderco knives. Still waiting for the Autonomy 2 that I pre-purchased from BHQ over a year ago.
Keep at it! Spyderco is a world of fun. I'm still waiting on that Autonomy 2 as well. Y'all have kept Spyderco BUSY! -George
This is a great BHQ video. Nice work George!
Got my first Spyderco in the early nineties after seeing it in the movie Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone and a article in Tactical knife magazine. Not sure what came first, the article or the movie. I retired that knife, it’s a Endura , and got a newer version. I would love to have that automatic.
That's a cool story of how you got your Endura. I'd carry any knife Sylvester Stallone carried. I want that auto, too. Thanks for watching! -George
I still have an original SpyderCard somewhere! With the plain edge. None of that half-serrated crap! Also have a Spyderco ByrdRench.
Now I'm gonna have to go digging for them! :)
Dang. I used to have that cc knife. Loved that thing. Haven’t seen one for over a decade.
Enjoyed! Bring Mr H back!
One of my first knives was a serrated Delica with a molded in plastic pocket clip. Little brother to that Endura. I also had one of those square Spyderco SpyderCard knives. Weird little knife but it cut like crazy! Wish I still had both of them.
A few of these are sprint runs from over a decade ago. Incredible.
The CF and Damascus is a Cally II I believe. Have one and it’s so smooth and locks up with authority. Great dress knife.
The first knife I bought myself was a Spyderco Dragonfly 2, from y’all. It’s been in my pocket damn near every day since then, three years straight.
The only one shown here missing in my collection is that sprint run of the Caly 3, and it's definitely up there on my wishlist! Gorgeous knife; especially that variant!
Idk why I find this dude showing off his collection so relaxing lol
I feel like there is a market out there for Spyderco to cater towards. Only if they were to step outside their current lineup a bit and bring back some different type of handle materials and styles….just take my money 💰✊
Mr H is amazing. Please show more !
Stay tuned! We've got three more videos of his collection coming out soon! -George
Just received my first Spyderco a smallfly 2! Definitely happy with it
An excellent choice! Here's to many more! -George
@@BladeHQ thanks for the reply! I really enjoy y'all's content! 🤙🏼
And we enjoy you watching it! -George
The spyderco spydercard. I was able to find the plain edge and the flatbyrd version but not the rare half serrated. Big difference between the plain edge and the flatbyrd. Like the one in the video well built and feels good in hand
This was dope as hell, thank you Mr. H
Mr. H, nice collection, can we see more.
Always wanted a Persian, but was to expensive for me at the time. That is a beautiful work of knife art to me saw one on ebay but way over priced. Wish they would bring that model back.
I know it's off topic but please tell me you guys are planning to restock the SOG Terminus XR damascus?
Awesome 👏
I'll be happy with the Lil'native slipit, which is the one Spyderco I like that we are allowed to carry
EXCELLENT collection Mr H, very cool blade banter ‼️ 👍👍🔪
I'm glad you like it, because we have more of Mr. H's collection coming soon! Stay tuned! -George
Great collection
Yeah, I have seen the Auto because I carried one in Iraq and ended up selling it to a buddy of mine in my unit. He loved it so much I could not pass up what he offered for it! But, now I wish I kept it! LOL.
Thanks Mr . H VERY COOL
I still have a Spydercard from way back when. 😁
Cool video! The carbon like handle is called Nisijin.
I was given 3 strange knives and cant find anything any where like them how should I go about looking them up?
This was the best.
Colorado reppin!!! One day maybe someone somewhere will have an Autonomy 2 in stock... blade HQ seems to be out of stock on most everything I want pretty much constantly.
Man that chaparral is gorgeous.. I have the lw and cf that would look so good as the premium big brother
That auto is the Citadel. I don't think it was named in the video.
Y’all need to bring back the BHQ exclusive Manix 2 with M4 steel! What an amazing knife
Perfect for lefties!
The Bob Lum Chinese Folder is actually a C65CFP model, with "Black Nishijin Glass(!) Fiber" handles... I own one of these, too :) It was introduced in 2010/11 and discontinued in 2013/14.
That material is HOT. You're lucky to have one! Thanks for watching! -George
What a nice gentleman, and he has some great knifes 🔪 😀
Great video!
The Caly 3 is one of my all time favorite knives, it’s a shame they don’t make it anymore.
I have the card knife and its 20 plus years old. I also remember the show Mannix.
That sage 🔥
For real! I wish ironwood would find its way onto more knives, it's positively gorgeous. -George
Always liked the bob lum , i have it in s90v. my most prized is the atr titanium s30v plain edge.
It's been a hot second since I've seen an ATR, but that was a sweet knife! -George
Love seen classic pro knives such as spyderco and other's still getting love and shown love ! I still have the original delica and dragon fly with plastic clip the dragon fly ID got scratch off do to my dad stealing it for a few years after I've ask about it ? I do have the manix 2 yes it was a beef knife with a thin blade in tip ? Reason why I only carried it for a few months ? Don't trust beef knives with paper thin blades ? That's not a work knife ? Buff man with tooth pick legs ? Something isn't wright ?
Nice collection
Hey! I want to give spyderco knifes a try. Seems like it's easy to spend money on their stuff, so what knife would you guys suggest as a fairly budget friendly choice?
It's a edc I'm looking for, not to big but not bumblebee small either, 3,5 finger grip and upwards.
I'm not that in to stainless, but I can live with it.
Appreciate all opinions and experiences:)
The Spyderco Tenacious Lightweight is a solid option and a perennial best-seller. It's everything you love about Spyderco, just in a budget-friendly package. If you want to step up the material quality a bit, check out the Delica or the Endela. They're made in Japan, giving you great build quality too. All of these are under $100, and I'd trust my life to any of them! -George
@@BladeHQ thank you! I'll check those out:)♡
Cool😀😀😀😀
Sweet spyderco collection
It really is. Spyderco has made some great stuff over the years, I'm excited to see what comes in the future! -George
spyderco needs to remake the wallet knife😊 put it back on the market with med to highend steel
Spyderco myrcat is high on my list of wants
That pattern on the scales might be a form of Nishiki Japanese fabric... used only by the emperors due to its complexity.
I have a Spyderco with blue fabric under clear epoxy.
Edit :- Nishijin?
I own a a spidycard bought it back in 01.
Why do all spider co blades look pretty much the same?
that's sweet 👍🏻✌🏻
Patch I think the table is cool not my style but it's definitely still cool
Nice collection. I could do without the awkward commercial break with Dallas.
9:01 it's not a backlock sir! Nice knives
First Spydercard I bought had a $20 price tag.
Your first? How many have you had? -George
@@BladeHQ Sold the first one with the box and picked up two more used Spydercards (also a Flat Byrd)
I have that original Endura. Full serrated with the original plastic integral pocket clip. Any idea how much that knife is worth now a day? I can tell y'all what I paid for it if you want to get mad. Lol 😈
I have two of the Spider Cards, one plain edge and the other half serrated. Funny thing before 9/11 I did get one on a plane. Not much of a big deal then.
I don’t have a knife collection. Collections are toys you can’t play with and I don’t buy toys I can’t play with!
About 30 years ago I got a spidercard and eventually the lock bar broke off. Not abused or excessively played with. I'm in UK so it's not worth sending back.
What’s it called - idk
When did you get it - idk
What’s it made of - I can’t remember
sweet
Bruuhh…the way you said come to my office and see my knives was sus
Niiice
Can we please discuss how horrible the new wishlist system is on the Blade HQ website??? Please someone reply I feel like I’m taking crazy pills….
How does Mr.H store is collection?
From what I understand, he has several large safes. -George
For his EDC rotation he has something similar to a machinist chest, with multiple felt lined drawers. Other pieces in his collection are usually kept in the original boxes, stacked like Olivander's wand shop, and locked up.
🤙🏼
incorrect, i have
