  • Will HIP-107 actually prevent gaming within the MOBILE Network? I have no idea, but maybe it's worth giving services providers the right to shut off devices.
And for those interesting in support my film career!

Im a mechanical engineer, and I deal with this kind of stuff often. You made a good point with the simulations. They are very flawed. They are clearly 2D. I can place an omni antenna 300ft off the ground in a level grounded suburban area. The simulation will show the signal being strongest around the antenna, and then being blocked by the 2 story homes in it's immediate vicinity. In reality, the signal would not be strong directly under it, and the homes would not block the signal at all. They may cast "shadows" but the signal would span dozens of blocks. I understand the compute power and storage required to generate something accurate would be unreasonable. And any other approach of measuring signal strength would be easily gamed. It is also in their interest to pay less.
IMO they could somewhat easily add a linear function to whatever they use now to account for the height of these obstructions and shape of the signal.

HIP 107 will just encourage SP’s to game the network. It will create a scenario where you are guilty until proven innocent when they ban you. And in order to punish them whatsoever it would require an additional HIP to pass with a super majority. We are all for discouraging gaming, but this one is bad news.

@@bluenetmarketing gaming means gaming the system by either spoofing your location (pretending your hotspot is in a boosted hex to get more rewards), setting up service on devices, getting the hotspot rewards, then cancelling service before your billed, etc. This HIP has absolutely nothing to do with playing mobile games that use the internet on the network. Didn’t mean to come off insulting though. Sorry if I did.

Hi Justin. Have you heard about future HIP 113 Yet? I don't think you will be very happy if it passes. It intends to Cut Experimental CBRS Mobile Earnings up to 75% until they can properly figure out how to make CBRS beneficial to the network. May explain why the 430H's are currently on Sale. Nova gets what Nova Wants. Warning to ALL considering purchasing CBRS right now. If it passes you will only have 30 additional days to ROI at current estimates will still earn but earnings will be much lower than stated in the modeled coverage explorer.

I was looking into purchasing 2 430hs but with HIP 113 in the works, I'm extremely hesitant. I read the HIP113 GitHub notes and it looks like Helium is going in the direction of Wifi due to the limited utility they provide to the network compared to Wifi. Ugh....IDK what to do anymore 🫠
