I just got the glaive prime without even knowing how good it is ! had some old Relics laying around and opened them for the parts. My teammates were super happy about the Glaive Prime parts, now I know why haha
As a person who uses Mark of the Beast, I absolutely recommend it with any secondary Crit build if you want to add a little extra oomph. I use it with the Incarnon Lex Prime and hit juicy red crits all the time with it
Glaive prime is what I take as a utility when I think I might need isolated room clearing, for shits and giggles. I do like the way SP eximus units go “hey, I guess I survived that - oh wait - shit!" But it is a lot of low mobility and high attention for long runs - for me at least. I guess depending on your personality you can get into the groove with it just as well as any weapon. For endless SP missions I would still go with something like a Nikanas Sepfahn zaw that clears everything in the same radius with forced slash and non-stop red crits, but with about 6 times more “swings” per second, megahealing if you want it, and incredible mobility. I guess the mobility is my top fetish at this point - after 6 years and an embarrassing amount of hours I have discovered that is the main thing I still get a lot of pleasure in now. Glaive prime certainly requires almost the least forma of top tier weapons to max out its potential, once you get one that is.
I just played the Steelpath Duviri Circuit as Kullervo with the Glaive Prime with a sligthly different build (Primed Pressure Point instead of Sacrificial Pressure and the new Galvanized Steel instead of Sacrifical Steel and no fraction mod). It started with ~3mil per target. After a few lucky decrees I was at ~80mil per target. I have never seen a Mesa before with only 2% damage dealt in a 40 minute run.

Glaive facts for those who are tempted to get the most 'fun weapon in the game'™: You can insta-detonate the glaive and recast very quickly, which may be useful in some situations, the timing is tricky tho. The explosion applies life strike, which is great if you don't need more damage, and 1-shot anyway -additionally with lifestrike, garuda can throw the glaive, trade health for energy, and detonate the glaive, and instantly heal back to full before the healthbar can even change. The explosion also applies dispatch overdrive, which can be nice for capture/saborage/rescue etc. Against bosses or demolysts, it is often useful to hit the enemy with the glaive just before detonating, since the glaive can still be detonated when returning. The explosion radius is also big enough for killing enemies around corners.

@@yaboitriplex241 Yes. Get Terrify on the Helminth, and then you can kill virtually anything aside from the occasion infested that resists toxin. But this applies to other weapons as well. Mod for toxin and faction damage, use armor strip, and then you will have a worry free run pretty much. For infested, you can use grouping + Syam modded for heavy attacks. You can mod for gas, but it's not mandatory to kill them as they are weak to the innate heat damage the Syam has as well. Not to mention that you can get the Syam as soon as you start the game. Pretty op weeb stick for a starter weapon. But if you wanna use a glaive for the infested, get the Halikar Wraith. It has blast damage, it's the best option out of the glaives for infested. Or you can just burn them with the Ignis Wraith lol
@@WarframeFloand to think I sold a riven I had for cerata, I needed plat at the time and it was a fast sell. I realised my mistake when 3 more people messaged me AFTER I took down the trade.
If you had a gun to your head to make a build with no bane mods, what would you change? I know I know, double dipping the slash damage. Still. I don't wanna swap mods every time I do a mission. It's the one thing in warframe I absolutely REFUSE to do.
But the strong thing about glaive prime is that it has forced bleeds. Those bleed scales with damage, including elemental one. So you getting viral, increases the bleeds, and you also get a small chance of getting a viral proc, that doubles the slash. So why not use it?
Because the status chance to proc that viral is too low which makes it an inefficient use of mod space for an inconsistent damage boost. A bane + power throw is significantly better.
I main wolf sledge like i one punch literally everything and ive had glaive prime for like 6 months and it just feels butt... like im throwing blanks every once in a while... when im looking directly at an enemy
hi im relatively new so i just wanted to ask as i have this mod called volatile rebound can i swap it for volatile quick return? or is the extra blast radius given by quick return better? as rebound seems to be better as it does'nt negate the glaive bounce by -1. Other than that thanks for the great and informative video it helped me understand very well :)
You don't actually care about the automatic bounces and explosions on glaives because they do abyssmal damage, volatile quick return is really just for the blast radius like how you would put primed reach on regular melee weapons. To detonate your glaive manually press your heavy attack/alt fire button as it flies out so right trigger on controller or I think middle mouse button on your mouse. The difference is crazy, maybe like 10x more damage than an automatic explosion
Cerata, by a long shot. Get Terrify for the Helminth. Then armor strip and then they have no way to resist toxin damage. This works very well against the corrupted as your normal viral HM primaries would struggle against shields. The Cerata has no such weakness. Cerata all the way if you have Terrify. Otherwise you can use a secondary Sporelacer-Haymaker-Splat kitgun for AoE trash clear. You can mod it easily for corrosive if you don't have Terrify. Works just as good.
how do you not get knocked down from your throwing the glaive rly near you? when i throw my serata with the same modded build i always get knocked down when i heavy attack or throw it too close to me
i think there might be something i'm missing, I modded my glaive the exact same but I'm hitting consistent orange crits with the occasional red crit. any advice?
Never understood why people go for dumb +30 initial combo builds when you can EASILY build up to 12x with high efficiency build and do tons more damage... And for Glaives like the Pathocyst, Cerata, etc that have good disposition, you can easily slot 80+% efficiency on the heavy attack, making 12x combo maintenance easy af. Slot in the mod on the companion where their attacks grant you combo, slot in a few dexterity arcanes and/or swift momentum and you have a boomerang dealing millions of raw damage. All glaives will melt armor shredded enemies but on 12x that's not even necessary. It's like all the bigger content creaters use one shared braincell in making the most basic of builds FOR 2X combo. With high efficiency, even if you spam it, getting under 2X is borderline impossible, usually hovering around 3-5x unless you actually pay attention to combo in which case usuall u don't fall bellow 8x. Grab a good riven, stack heavy att efficiency with melee dmg or crit stat and watch stuff die unless you're playing against pisslow levels where everything will kill them. EDIT: power throw is a skill issue thing, stacking it is easy and throwing it far for movement is also easy. the damage bump is humongous and veery good for endgame.
The original Glaive does have forced proc too. It's jsut Impact, not Slash. All glaives have a different forced proc. Some are good, some not so much. Glaive Prime is not the only good glaive, though it is in a league of its own.

@@AtoFuskich Yeah, I bought the set. I’m still happy with my purchase and I can recover what I lost. Time to grind enough play for Ember Prime
Man it would've been nice to have a Glaive Prime if it didnt cost an arm, leg, and one (1) kidney. I'm just hoping Varzia brings it out soon
Honestly bro the Cerata is imo the best glaive in the game :) trust me the cerata is good enough and its MR7 + free
@@WarframeFlowould you say the cerata is better than the xoris
I got glaive prime from relics somehow and traded for the riven with a friend. Got super lucky.
hello flo, what melee arcane goes well with glaive prime?
If you had a gun to your head to make a build with no bane mods, what would you change?
I know I know, double dipping the slash damage. Still. I don't wanna swap mods every time I do a mission. It's the one thing in warframe I absolutely REFUSE to do.
It’s back
7:10 Hey i know this soundtrack it is "Blood on the Dancefloor"
I actually unveiled a glaive riven today and after 7 rerolls I got + CC CD And Damage so I got super lucky and can't wait to make my glaive op
Sell that shit for like 2k plat
@@MagikarpManNot before using it
But the strong thing about glaive prime is that it has forced bleeds.
@@youraveragechroma2139 makes sense, I'll test the bleed procs. Thanks!
The bleed procs will still scale significantly with viral procs from an alternate source IE your primer
@KingofGoblins1
Element Damage Mods have No Effect on the Bleed Damage.... 👀
I main wolf sledge like i one punch literally everything and ive had glaive prime for like 6 months and it just feels butt... like im throwing blanks every once in a while... when im looking directly at an enemy
I already have a pretty stacked Xoris, should I invest in glaive prime?
hi im relatively new so i just wanted to ask as i have this mod called volatile rebound can i swap it for volatile quick return? or is the extra blast radius given by quick return better? as rebound seems to be better as it does'nt negate the glaive bounce by -1.
Wouldn't initial combo be good on a riven? Since it increases crit chance with killing blow
What would be good to run with new Tennokai and arcades
what's your thought on Orvius or Cerata is the 2nd best choice?
Cerata, by a long shot. Get Terrify for the Helminth. Then armor strip and then they have no way to resist toxin damage. This works very well against the corrupted as your normal viral HM primaries would struggle against shields. The Cerata has no such weakness.
Cerata all the way if you have Terrify. Otherwise you can use a secondary Sporelacer-Haymaker-Splat kitgun for AoE trash clear. You can mod it easily for corrosive if you don't have Terrify. Works just as good.
I have the plat for glaive now but do i buy or wait for it to potentially return to prime resurgance
Question, why use the sacrificial mod for base damage when primed pressure point gives a higher amount of base damage?
I didn’t know it could explode >_> i’ve been using glaive prime the wrong way….
Bro I had this thing for years and didn't know there was an alt fire 😅
2:05 We hoped and we saw. Literally its a saw blade.
Ty
wow, a 2x heavy build. who would have thought
this one is without power throw🌚
What arcane do you use??
Only question I have is what to swap the faction mods out for when running a mission where no faction mod exists.
Which faction doesn't have a bane mod?
@@mohammadiaa I thought the new one didnt have one but they do
Also some unique enemies but yea 99% of the time you can use a faction mod
how do you not get knocked down from your throwing the glaive rly near you? when i throw my serata with the same modded build i always get knocked down when i heavy attack or throw it too close to me
Prime surefooted
wich arcane to use on this nowadays ? if we dont go for status , then crusendo or duplicate?
kullervo will have fun with this weapon...😏
what about primed pressure point. i get why you dont use it but what if you have it. its still 165% damage
i think there might be something i'm missing, I modded my glaive the exact same but I'm hitting consistent orange crits with the occasional red crit. any advice?
maybe cuz of the riven or try to use arcane avenger if u have it. itll buff ur crit after mods if i can recall it correctly
How do glaives work with Kullervo?
maybe you can try to make video for that
Gonna give this a try.
Why would I need to do All that if I already 1 tick them with a slash proc ?
Initial combo is only for heavy attack builds, so your initial premise is off.
Lucky I bought it ages ago in the pack
The original Glaive does have forced proc too. It's jsut Impact, not Slash. All glaives have a different forced proc. Some are good, some not so much. Glaive Prime is not the only good glaive, though it is in a league of its own.
I just got the glaive prime for 200 plt cause I told the guy it’s coming back next month and everyone will get it and the price will drop
Nice vid, why doesnt condition overload work with it though? Strange... Good thing I learned it doesn't from you
what arcane do you use on your glaive prime?
0.12 What's warframe and skin? Is that it looks awesome.
Ash with tsukuyomi skin
am i missing something? how does this do so much dmg? have exactly the same mods
What about using Primed Pressure Point in place of Sacrificial Pressure?
That works but only if it's around rank 9 or maxed cus the extra crit chance from sac pressure is still a bit better
