Not at all....you always backbutter porcelain tiles....it gives the best results and for tiles over 600× 600 this system is perfect for level finishing.
@@billwellington4339 It doesn't help if you backbutter them, if you lift them up, they will still lose their adhesive and tolerate a lot less strain. That's why you see broken tiles in shopping malls and such.
@@123TauruZ321 Then there must be a Sub-floor issue....I.e. Excessive Movement Screed not cured and tiled on too soon. If you spread the adhesive on your ,solid and sound, Sub-floor and then Back Butter your tile..... You should have no issues and can be assured that the job is done correctly......using the correct materials for the job also helps!!
I have used this system before and it is not worth the hassle. The clips do not break off properly. Sometimes they break off too high and you are left with a tiny piece of plastic between the tiles. Getting the plastic out is a huge pain in the ass.
That depends on what direction you kick the wedges lose. If you kick in the same direction as the wedges it goes wrong ! Always kick (with your foot or hammer) at 90 degree angle at the wedges.

Wenn schon so gemacht, dann doch den Ausgleich vor dem Festklopfen machen.Danach gibt es doch hochwahrscheinlich einen Hohlraum. Auch die Höhe dieser weißen Plastikstücke ist undefiniert geblieben: Werden sie bis auf den Untergrund runtergedrückt? Mal sieht es so aus, dass sie nur oben auf dem Flexkleber stehen. Völlig unklar im Video.

At 2:40 is the biggest problem with these so called leveling clips, it lifted the tile away from the mortar that was not a full bonded tile as industry standards calls for
@@piranhaful Ok i did my floor at home aswell with leveling system and you might level the one tile the other pops up again and so on. Maybe the old way is still better after all that way you stay away from tiles that were good so they stay in good position...
Basically 100% leveling is not necessary in most cases as long as it looks level and no leapage. All From experience, such leveling system is only helpful and saves time if the floor has 12 to 20 mm ups and downs. But i have done it with normal spaces even.
I don't disagree, but take in mind that Knauf was one of (if not) the first company to make this, the marketing video is made in 2011 and this might have been the very first floor placed with a tile levelling system so the guy who placed them must have had no experience either :D

Takes up the double amount of glue and the tile seams do not line up properly, cause the wedges slide the tiles unvisibly out of place. The floor is a chaos filled with wedges and clips and work quality is lost. I did several jobs with this KLS and was totally not satisfied. A real pro can do without!
@PopeQ Many. I have seen it in different jobs of my colleague. Used the KLS twice, it might be something you know, but my results are way better without the system.
Can you tell me size of the tile you use to work? I agree that it take alot of glue, the second hand is not necessary at all but it's important and a Must to do a back battering behind the tile, a thin film so the glue to stuck.

Wat een waardeloos systeem! De witte dingen die tussen de tegels zitten breken niet allemaal af onder tegel niveau. Er is op de goede manier tegenaan geschopt. Wij zitten nu met een vloer die niet te voegen is, want het plastic is keihard en er niet uit te trekken. Geprobeerd met zachtjes tikken met priem en hamer in de 2mm smalle voegen, daardoor nu stukjes af van de keramische tegels. Wellicht met een goed stanleymes weg te snijden? HELP, GRAAG SNEL ADVIES!

Ich bin kein Fliesenleger. Ich bin Heimwerker Aber ich habe doch so viel Verständnis, dass wenn ich fließen anhebe das dort ein von Raum entsteht und dieser zum platzen der fließen hervorgehen Kann. Zudem braucht man Unmengen an Kleber auf einen m2 und ich denke nicht das es so gut ist. Ich sag Müll Lieber in ausgleichmasse Geld investieren hat man mehr von
so sehe ich das auch, die Fliese die du hochziehst hat unter umständen keinen Kontakt mehr zum Kleber, und kann irgendwann brechen, was heutzutage alles verkauft wird, unglaublich
This is a common reaction but if you glue both sides (floor and tile) startled, you will never create a void. + the system is especially made for do-it-yourself people, although many professionals use this when placing bigger tiles. But, you are right, it is not obligated as 5 years ago this didn't exist (but big tiles were also not common then)
I've been tiling for 20 years I always swore I'd never use The clips i started using them on jobs around 6 months ago. They really aren't bad on some types of tiles. And if you apply the right amount of adhesive there is no voids

Nothing. I'm a professional tile setter and these systems scare me. I always pop up each tile and add mud to my voids

There are no gaps under the tiles if you submit glue on the floor AND tile, which is always advised to do double bonding.
