I have to agree on Heartless, I'm currently reading it and the moment Cade finally gave in to Wila I almost lost it ! That front porch scene left me speechless ! Also the right move is my fav of the windy city series ! such great chemistry between Indy and Ryan !
I’m behind on your videos but when I saw this title I had to add my newest favorite, Sugar and Gold by Emma Scott. The heroine fled an abusive husband and lives under an assumed name so she can’t let people get close. She’s so lonely she goes to a club where she can be around people without any questions. The heavily tattooed hero sees a young woman dancing by herself and is intrigued. When another man bothers her, Nikolai rescues her. She offers him a one night stand, no questions, he has to be gone by morning. That is fine with him because he can see auras and feel other people’s emotions which is painful and oppressive so he keeps his distance from everyone. He sees that she’s kind but sad and her presence is oddly calming to him so he goes with her. This is the best romance I’ve read in a long time, full of emotion. It’s a roller coaster ride in the best sense. Thanks for sharing. I loved Lord Ian, too. The audio is outstanding! I always get a good recommendation from reading the comments, too, so I thought I would share in case someone hasn’t read Emma Scott. Happy reading. 😊
Forever Your Rogue is a literal masterpiece! I also really wish Jennifer Ashley would write more historicals, her Makenzies series is one of the GOATs. 👌
I just read "The Right Move" and holy moly! This is definitely one of my top reads of the year. Way more emotional than I thought it would be, and such a satisfying ending.
I have to agree - to me there's a huge difference between romance and erotica and sometimes they overlap but it just feels - I don't know -unsatisfying, sometimes confusing if it "doesn't fit" the story or the characters. So, I would love to have a part II of this. I loved this video and thank you. Definitely added some of these to my Amazon wishlist. :)
I thought I was going vanilla! I love good smut, but I could not figure out why it annoyed me in books now. There was no connection! Thank you for the recommendations. I am a new patron, btw :)
Thanks for this! I struggle reading spicier novels because it always feels like what little plot there usually tends to be is designed to set up each moment of spiciness and I don't get to see on the page the emotional connection that should develop to make the spiciness matter. Spice for spice's sake tends to make me cringe. It's like some authors think "oh look my characters have gotten all smexy 5 times now in extreme detail so of course the audience knows they care about each other" Yeah, maybe they do but it would be nice to see evidence of it outside of the bedroom . Show me the relationship building. I would rather have a whole book of relationship building with a big spicy crescendo than 200+ .pages of meaningless (and often repetitive) spice. Give me plot with my smut damnit!....Sorry for the diatribe...Thank you for the recs
I just finished reading Resting Witch Face by Juliette Cross, which was AMAZING! I would also say that it is steamy & emotional...but in my opinion I think all the books in this series are. 💗
Skin of a Sinner by Avina St. Graves did that for me! It made my heart burst before it made my lady parts burst😭🥵😂 it filled my heart up and then blessed me with some of the best masked stalker smut I’ve ever read. Btw, if you decide to read this book CHECK THE TRIGGERS PLEASE! It’s the sweetest childhood friends to lovers (he falls first).
I can’t wait for you to read the rest of our story by Tal Bauer. The book had me ugly crying. gratify katelyn taylor is one of the more emotional ex-boyfriend’s dad romance. I read because I cried in the end of that book the ending scene had me bawling my eyes out, and I usually don’t cry and an ex-boyfriend‘s dad romance. It’s very spicy, but you can still feel their emotional connection.
I appreciate your channel so much but girl sometimes you give too much of the plot away. There was no need to ruin the plot of out on a limb and say that he could have children. That would have been a nice thing to have read myself.
🤷♀️🤷♀️ Sorry, many many more of my viewers enjoy that I share more of the plot and feel of the story. And that detail is shared within the beginning of the story... it's not this bug spoiler that ruins anything. Most reviews will just say the tropes, but I like to give more of the flavor and why people should read it. Because that's what I'M looking for in reviews. I have for 5 years and I will continue to. I know you meant this with respect and I appreciate your thoughts, but this is how I do it here and will continue to. When you click on one of my videos, you're gonna get more than just the blurb.
“spice without heart behind it” THIS👏🏻 i love the heart behind it. getting the spice is just the cherry on top for me. thank you for these recs❤️
Thanks for the recs - I can't read spice for spice's sake without getting bored - lol - I definitely need some heart and a story behind it❤

I love this idea. We need emotional and meaningful spice. Adding some of these to books I want to read in 2024.
I read That Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie because it was on one of your rec videos and it is in my top 5 favorites now.
🥰🥰🥰 So glad to hear! It's a fantastic story!
Love the emotional smut! So excited to try some of these. Soft Flannel Hank sounds really good.
It really is so sweet!
I just finished Soft Flannel Hank on YOUR recommendation. I loved it! I need more like this!

no one (booktubers, booktoks) has give such great explanation/blurb of a book.. now i'm gonna get 'out on a limb' you've convinced me 👏😅
Forever Your Rogue is a literal masterpiece! I also really wish Jennifer Ashley would write more historicals, her Makenzies series is one of the GOATs. 👌
Yaaaassss!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Loved this topic!! Ya killed it with the recommendations.....gonna pick up forever your rogue❤❤❤

Hello Amelia!!! So happy to have your support. ❤️❤️ thank you so much.
Yes, sometimes we just need a good reset.
Brilliant video .. thanks Jen

I liked Heartless so much but my favorites from that series are Flawless and Reckless ❤
Hello Jen thanks for sharing 😊
I love books with this combination!
🥰🥰🥰
I'm the same way honestly. I need equal parts smut/spice, plot and emotions in my romances. I can't do just smut anymore.
I am intrigued by Soft Flannel Hank! But i just bought Hoarded by the Dragon so I can’t read it yet. Also, the paranormal aspects sold it for me.
I just finished reading Resting Witch Face by Juliette Cross, which was AMAZING! I would also say that it is steamy & emotional...but in my opinion I think all the books in this series are. 💗
