I got it for 85$ with a 50% discount. For that price this hoodie is a real bargain. I think it's ideal as a casual wear on those days when you ride for short distances and you don't feel like getting fully equipped from top to bottom especially when you are on a scooter.
I’m interested in this concept but my major concern is that it will bunch up when you slide off. I don’t think there’s enough rigidity in the hoodie to keep its shape when rolling or sliding.
I’m guessing the kind of person who rides with an unpadded hoodie is not the kind of person who is going to drop almost $200 for a hoodie that does have some armor.
There is an access zipper on the inside of the bottom of the hoodie at the back. You will be able to reach the armor through this point to remove it an wash the hoodie. - Van
I bought this jacket a week ago and I’m happy with it, it fits my riding style. “Dress for the slide, not the ride” type of thing but nobody plans on sliding right ;). I’ve read the manuals it’s come with and this is my first jacket so I’m not too advanced with my motorcycle and gear knowledge quite yet but it didn’t specify whether or not I can throw it in the washer…? I saw it’s okay to submerge it under water as long as the protectors are out but I just wanted to double check with someone who knows more of what they are doing. So is this product able to be put into the washer?
I dunno bro - I feel like at that price, I might as well but a mesh Jacket. I also feel like that should have some chest armor. And also, it a little bulky.
@@sportbiketrackgear Thanks for replying :) Would you say it's worth it/necessary if your textile jacket is only rated to an CE A level, and your doing high speed street riding? Or is the bulk and/or uncomfort to much IYO. It's much more cheaper than buying a new leather jacket.
Nice hoodie and I love AStars brand and quality but this should be $50 less at a minimum IMO. I get that its got armor but I upgrade mine to level 2 anyway so I'd be replacing it (which will cost you around another $120-$150). Don't really see this being worth the $$, but maybe that's just me.
IMO any of the Nucleon inserts will be a great addition to this hoodie. Here is a link to them on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/alpinestars-body-armor-protection/?_bc_fsnf=1&Product=Back+Protector+Insert - Van
Anyone has used this hookie on hot summer days? Does it get really hot with this? Im looking for an alternative to my riding jacket for hot summer days. This could be it for casual driving around, found it for 144€.
I got that hoodie in a XXL size - I was wondering what's the perfect size for the back padding for my hoodie ? I don't want to order the bad size and then get stuck with it
LOL while I hear what you are saying there is a lot going on here. More than just a hoodie. Myself I would go with a jacket before ever considering riding in a hoodie. - Van

Quality review as always Van! Thank you for your passion to the riding community.
You are welcome and thank you for watching! - Van
Love that it supports a spine protector!
One of the things I like the most about this as well. - Van
Thanks for the review. I just bought one. I used to only wear a regular hoodie, but I'm sick of breaking bones every time I go down... 😂

This is for sure a more casual form of protection as compared to a proper riding jacket. - Van
I’m guessing the kind of person who rides with an unpadded hoodie is not the kind of person who is going to drop almost $200 for a hoodie that does have some armor.
To be fair I am not sure how successful this will be. IMO it is a cool idea but I would just wear a jacket. - Van
Short rides

I love my Chrome Sport hoodie. Might add this one to my collection as well.
Similar product with a different look. Cool concept IMO. - Van
Looks roughly the same (except colors). What’s the major difference?
@@torquedawg81 the Chrome Sport has a front zipper.
This hoodie with techair 5 vest would be a great combo.
Yeah that would work. For my personal taste I’d rock this with the helite turtle 2.
You would be well protected that is for sure. - Van
I wonder if a Dianese G2 back protector would fit in place of the nucleon. I have a Dianese Air Crono 2 mesh jacket that works with either
Sorry I do not have the answer to that one. - Van
How do I remove the armor in the hoodie to wash it etc
There is an access zipper on the inside of the bottom of the hoodie at the back. You will be able to reach the armor through this point to remove it an wash the hoodie. - Van
This Alpinestars Ageless hoodie VS the Alpinestars Chrome sport hoodie - which would you say is better?
They are super similar, the Chrome has a zipper and the Ageless does not. - Van

Remove the armor before throwing it in the washer and line dry it. - Van
Hi Brian! For hot days, do you think it has more ventilation than the T-GP-plus air v3 jacket?
Thanks
I would think the air jacket would be better. This is pretty thick and will insulate a bit. - Van
Thanks for the reply and for the great quality videos.
Is there any type of chest protection?
No there is no chest protection included with this. It is a little less technical and meant for causal rides. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear thanks dude! Do you recommend getting something protective to wear under for extra safety?
I dunno bro - I feel like at that price, I might as well but a mesh Jacket.

I would wear a jacket first. - Van
Do you have any thoughts about wearing a kelvar lined hoodie under a regular riding jacket (any type of kevlar hoodie, with the armor removed)?
It would add a layer of protection but they are pretty thick so it may not be very comfortable. - Van

They're gear is premium priced so they can pay so many riders to wear their products, it's a vicious circle.
