number 1 is cause the show runners are CONSTANTLY geting themselves "cornered" and have to "blow up" a wall to get out and its my biggest cpomplaint with the show
My two Nr 1 decisions are making an embarrising & crappy english dub & trick the world into dubbing after it. And redesigning the characters & having a crappy drawing style on the characters, ESPECIALLY the human characters.
@@kish45 i think Ash was the one that forgot, ya know since he kept telling it to harden instead of attacking. Also, it’s gameplay and story segregation. In the anime, only well trained Metapod can actually take the offensive (Bugsy’s). A recently evolved Metapod wouldn’t be able to do anything but Harden
Never thought I'd be defending Ash's intelligence, but I gotta disagree on #8. Ash insulting a perfume shop and challenging the gym had nothing to do with each other, and it wasn't even the leader in question who was keeping him out--it was her attendants who refused to let him in, against Pokémon League regulations, as it turns out. Erika even says later on that she isn't allowed to outright refuse a challenge from a trainer. Ash never had the option of just "apologizing" and getting to challenge Erika properly, and he shouldn't have had to, because his disruptive behavior in the perfume shop wasn't grounds for him to be barred from the gym in the first place.
Ash did not have the best start as a trainer in the very first Pokemon season and it's a mystery of how he graduates trainers school despite him being clueless about how to deal with some Pokémon but we slowly see him mature when he is challenging Pokemon Leagues in other regions. At least we got to see Ash having a proper Pokemon battle with Erica in the 20th movie as a consolation
AHEM1313. THAT is a very good observation. When I first saw that Celadon Gym Battle episode, I always thought of Erika's attendants being unfair to Ash for petty reasons. They outright booted him out without them hearing directly from their leader Erika herself.
For those complaining that Ash never found Pigeot again, need i remind you that that was a dub only line? Yeah in the original Japanese, he just says goodbye to it. He never says that he’ll meet with it again.
I believe the showrunners in Japan know about the mistake. The whole world except Japan believes that Ash dumbed Pidgeot. They could have fixed this problem with at least 1 episode
Okay, as much as I agree releasing his Pokemon is a bit ridiculous in some cases, I honestly can't be mad at him releasing Greninja. Yes, it was incredibly strong, but it was needed by Zygarde to find and destroy those vines that have scattered throughout Kalos because it was the only one besides Ash who could see them underground. You may not agree, but imo this was actually a valid reason for Greninja to leave
As much as it pains me, I have to agree. Granted Ash wasn’t gonna bring Greninja to Alola anyway. And while I find it baffling that legendary Dragon Pokémon required the use of a WATER type to stop a vine outbreak, the fact they need Greninja at all proves Ash raised him excellently, as did Greninja help raise Ash in some capacity (and yes, I know Greninja beat Sawyer’s Sceptile several times, so it dealing with evil plants doesn’t sound to scary for it, but I was making a joke). Although, if they really wanted to release Greninja, they could’ve done it in an episode separate from Ash returning Goodra back. The dude’s Kalos team is pretty much all Flying Type with Hawlucha being the MVP.
When it comes to the anime, one has to remember that Pokemon are still living creatures with their own wants, needs and desires. And several of Ash's Pokemon would be happier leaving him, even if it pains both them and Ash.
Maybe he could've stayed with Greninja instead? Idk if that was an option but it could've been interesting. I wish they would shift protagonists already, and thay could've been a good chance to do it perhaps
Ash not forgetting poison doesn't affect steel makes sense since he almost never uses either of those types. A stupid decision was Ash forgetting ghost types are immune to to normal types in his battle against Agatha at the beginning of Battle Frontier and then making the same mistake against Brandon at the end.
See the reason for making ash forget such things is to show he is still evolving.. as stupid it sounds.. it kinda makes sense.. if Ash knew all things then makes no sense for him to lose..
@@abishikthebenezer5458 maybe, BUT, you can still know things and still do stupid things, I mean, the anime’s writers proved that when they wrote what happens when Ash battled Tate and Liza in Hoenn
Well, to be fair, all those actors were contracted to voicing characters in 4 Kids shows, so they couldn't exactly use them when pokemon wasn't under 4 Kids anymore. If I'm being honest as well, Sarah Notochenny for Ash has honestly done a great job for I would say around 10 years (her voice for Ash in the Battle Frontier season and DP series wasn't great).
I often forgot that poison had no effect against steel types back when I used to be into the pokémon franchise, so Ash is not the only one who forgot that
@@maadtee6281 But I will tell you one thing, when I was a beginner way back years ago it took me forever trying to defeat Misty when I chose my starter Charmander, I didn't know anything about strategy and whatnot I was a real fool But I've long since learn how to strategize and use tactics and I'm a planner now so trust me I'm not making that same mistake I made when I was still a kid
the art style was such a jarring change, i literally wasnt sure i was watching the right anime at first also tobias is the definition of plot armor (literally has a full team of legendaries and cant be beaten)
What happened with Celadon Gym felt frustrating on all fronts. Ash only behaved the way he did all because he was pressured by supposedly lacking progress at that point, since even Professor Oak hardly showed much support to Ash then. If not for that, he could’ve enjoyed everything about the city in addition to challenging the gym. That said, he should’ve talked to either Nurse Joy or Officer Jenny, since Erica is supposed to accept all challenges as per the rules of the league. And even though Ash does care for his Pokémon, treating them all like his best friends, she had the gaul to taunt his lack of friendship. Was he not going to bring up how much Gary made him feel insignificant to forget what’s really important?
I agree Ash was only speaking his mind about the perfume, it was his opinion, was him saying that going to stop him from making more perfume? What's it going to stop them from selling perfume? No it wouldn't, that episode in the entire season made Ash look more mature than the gym leader and her followers.
@@AnonymousEnigma19 True. It took the writers until Journeys to make Erika likeable as an apology for her debut episode (I know she was in I Choose You movie but that was in an alternate timeline). I think it's safe to say that fans have finally forgave the writers for this serious offence they made back in the first season.
You wanna know the dumbest choices? Ash not getting a clue that a girl has a crush on him & Ash continuing his Pokémon journey after the League Champion. Team Rocket continuing to stalk Ash for an electric rat. And the change of the art style after the Kalos Region.
THANK YOU ON THAT LAST POINT. The Alola region animation was such a jolting downgrade from Kalos. It actually made Ash look younger. I wouldn't even call that a style, it looks terrible.
And looking how in the anime there are even starter pokemon found in the wild and they won't even bother to catch their own. Team rocket made Goku look like albert einstein.
Yeah medapod vs medapod was stupid, learn my lesson the hard way when I was a beginner when I used to be into the pokémon franchise, I felt like an idiot for not realizing that the two against each other are basically useless Especially when neither know how to use a physical attack-based move so I had to switch to another Mon in my party just to get the battle over with, I was not the sharpest crane in the box and it took me forever to trying to get through particular parts of fire Red because again I was a beginner
#2 I'll admit this was one of Ash's biggest blunders, but in the episode before that Ash was challenging Bianca's father in order for Bianca to stay on her journey but in exchange if he lost he was to return to Pallet Town, Ash may have lost but luckily Bianca's father changed his mind, the fear of being sent back home made Ash rethink his way of battling, because of that Ash used his head instead of his heart or guts whatever you prefer to try and win against Elisa, and that caused him to overthink things.
Pokemon provides a stimulus for learning and practicing life skills and other learning skills that will be useful later.🥰 Children are drawn to this challenge because of their very nature, needing to deal with their fears and vulnerabilities. 🥰🥰🥰
I agree with first two points. Ash vs elesa is probably his most embarrassing battle. The writers tried to make it funny but it was pain to see the character completely lost his development. And why the hell he did not use rogenrolla. Even he won it was one of his worst battles. For the first point. It is indeed sad to release good pokemon. Most stupid was dawn releasing her ambipom. She was just released to make room for togekiss. Leave aside her ambition, how the hell writers came with this idea of ping pong. Because they could not have more than 6 pokemon. While only in the next series ash has more than 6 pokemon.
I think the reason the anime uses this type of sendoff of good characters is because in actuality the “got to catch them all” mentality results in numerous creatures stored in their little containers left in a form of solitary confinement.
@@davidwilliams2135 Still, the anime shows the Pokemon who are not in Ash's team to be in Professor Oak's lab. Couldn't there be something similar for Dawn? I mean, they have Professor Rowan right there.
@@Shadoboy to raise a counter perspective, in the games is there any mention of a professor watching over your Pokémon not in use? Also, if you yourself play the games do you use all of your Pokémon?

@@davidwesley2525 for sure. When it comes to Ash expressing any lack of intelligence I’m pretty sure they only do so when it’s convenient to the plot. Otherwise they wouldn’t have him come up with some inventive strategies, like forcing Blastoise to use Hydro Pump on the battlefield and lose all sight of Charizard. Or having Turtwig use Razor Leaf even when Rampardos burned them with Flamethrower for the same goal. And there are others I didn’t mention but I’m pretty sure there’s a character limit here.
A handful of these are big stretches or just flat out misleading. "He forgets Poison attacks are ineffective against Steel types." The last real Poison type he used before sun/moon was Muk, and that was for 2 battles, neither being against Steel types. "Metapod Vs Metapod" This was straight up out of Ash's hands. Pidgeotto was knocked out, Pikachu refused, leaving Metapod as his literal only option. And he chosen him against a Pinsir, not being aware of Samurai having a Metapod. So this wasn't even a decision of Ash's, but Samurai's. "Using Charizard against Ritchie" Another case of "Out of options" as Squirtle and Pikachu were KO'd, Bulbasaur and Pidgeotto were already tired from Team Rocket, leaving Charizard and Muk as his only choses, and with Ritchie still having two Pokemon, he went with his strongest choice. "Releasing several good pokemon" Butterfree isn't really good, it lost more battles than won. Pidgeotto won only one battle. Lapras was more transport than battler, with it's only battle ending in a draw. Greninja, Goodra, and Naganadel all had greater responsibilities. Not only that, but every goodbye was ended on a good note between trainer and pokemon, with Ash discussing it with his pokemon first. And that's only 6, only 3 of which had decent battle records. Ash's overall team strength isn't taking nearly as much loss as you suggest. And no, a lot of the goodbyes are made satisfying and heartfelt. And in a video titled "Decisions in the Pokemon Anime" why is it 8/10 are about Ash when other characters have made even dumber moves.
Calls "Out of Options" for Charizard, states he still had a pokemon he could have used instead of Charizard, last I checked THAT'S AN OPTION, and also what's better to send out, a powerful pokemon who won't listen to a thing you say, or one that will listen that's not as powerful, but has still shown to be good
@@PerfectChaos115 Muk against a fire type isn't a good call. If he had selected Muk, he would have lost to either way. He went with Charizard as his best choice.
Butterfree had to be released because he was going to start a family. But Ash's primeape has been "training" for nearly 25 years now and has been mostly forgotten.
I totally agree with all of these especially about Ash leaving his best Pokémon and the one about Team Rocket’s disguises and Ash falling for it pretty much every single time.
Ash giving up Primeape after all the trouble he went through to catch it. & Pidgeot a Powerful Flying Pokémon he could've literally flown anywhere on.🤦🏿♂️
Forgetting type matchups is a bit uncalled for everyone has a brain fart now and then honestly forgot dragon didn’t effect fairy type but that was due to not having a dragon type on my team often same can be said for ice type attacks not being super effective on rock
If your dream is to be a Pokemon Master you been working at it non-stop for years you had traveled thousands of miles and fought in probably just as many battles defeated multiple gym leaders in truth you should know type matchups by that point but let's be real it's not like type matchup really ever affected Ash in beginning I mean this is a Pokemon trainer that beat Brock using electric attacks.
You are not living and breathing Pokémon 24/7 with the life goal of being a complete master in Pokémon and Pokémon battles and techniques. That's ash. And type advantage is probably the most basic concept and yet he forgot?
Ash has gone through several whole regions and they literally have a walking instruction manual travelling with him in 4 of them. Ash being that stupid in season 1 is understandable but after this kind of learning experience you can tell that he just suffers from brain damage and the writers just make him as smart as they want to.
Oh yeah, I remember after Palditoad lost Ash then used Snivy, who has a disadvantage against Emolga a flying type, and both Pokemon used attract on each other which they're females. Ash forgot that attract have no effect on the same gender and what's funny is how he realized his mistake lmao
4:03 One or was about perfume in general and two there must be some pokemon league rule that Caledon city gym is breaking prohibiting a trainer from battling over something like that...
Many I disagree with 8.ash as no tea to apologize since they outright can’t ban him from challenging a gym for what he did (the gym leader even said so) 4.this was literally the very start of his journey, you can’t blame him to not being knowledgeable about it. 3.he knew charizard could not obey him, but he kind didn’t had any other choice. 1.he practically always has a solid reason for releasing his Pokémon, he legit consider what is best for his Pokémon first.
#1 is the most egregious as everytime he did release a Pokemon the show was showing that Ash truly cared about his Pokemon as his friends, not as his servants so saying that doing so is dumb is to imply Ash should be cruel and uncaring to his Pokemon. While you can argue that some of the reasons that led to him releasing his Pokemon are idiotic, saying that him respecting his Pokemon is dumb is just wrong.
Not only was it was dumb, Ash using Charizard in the Indigo League against Richie was also a desperate decision. He was relying on luck mainly (although Team Rocket interference did only cause his lateness to match, also with some his weary pokemon) yet could've gone better than he had if he had Kingler or Muk or even trained his Charizard properly
forgetting type match ups is kinda forgivable considering that the anime in general does not care about them. in one episode golem took bulbasaur's razor leaves as if they were nothing and then it got knocked out by charmader's flamethrower, and an other time a golem got defeated by pikachu's thunderbolt.
Dishonorable Mention: *Fighting with his Partner during a Tag Battle. TWICE! -Ash having a tag battle with his traveling companion, only for them to start bickering when things go awry. This only leaves their pokemon WIDE OPEN FOR ATTACKS because they're too busy fighting with each other to notice what their opponents are doing. The worst part, This has happened TWICE throughout the series so far. Once in the Advanced Generations and again in the Diamond and Pearl series!
@@johnnyd3158 And known for rehashing characterizations. Otherwise, Dawn would be completely different from May, and Serena would be completely different from both.
This is why letting Ash finally win after so many generations at the Aloha Region was really terrible. Ash should have won with Greninja in X&Y since that series with Serena are fan favorites and imo was the best anime season of Pokemon. Could have given fans a good ending before the Aloha/Ash trash rework.
Regarding the number 3, in fact the real reason why Charizard disobeyed Ash in the past during many episodes (my god🤦), it's because the writers of the anime adaptation were so stupid.
10:55 this one I most certainly agree with. Especially with the fact that even though Ash claimed to Pidgeot that he would return for it once he got the G.S. Ball, we never see him reunite with it at all. Also, I thought it was definitely unfair that Ash released his Greninja as it would've made a reliable pokemon to use in future battles.
The thing is tho ash didn’t technically release greninja squashy asked for his help there’s a difference so yes greninja is still ash’s Pokémon and hopefully he will return in master journeys before ash enters the master class cause while lucario is strong he’s going to need his more experienced Pokémon if he wants to do well in the master class there’s also the fact that he still has greninjas pokeball
@@mattsultimategamingandrevi8249 hmmm touche. But it still feels kinda felt that way though when the two had parted. Also, I too am hoping that Greninja will reappear again someday.
10. And yet a Croagunk's Poison Jab was able to KO a Steel-Type Scizor in an earlier episode. Plot holes, what's that? 5. This is the one thing almost EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IN THE SERIES CAN'T SEEM TO BE ABLE TO DO! See through Team Rocket's disguises. I mean COME ON, one of the disguises in the video BLATANTLY SHOWS THEIR UNIFORMS FRONT AND CENTER! 4. This is why you always always ALWAYS must teach your pokemon a damaging move!
What is more funny about the Metapod VS Metapod situation is Ash's Metapod he caught as a Caterpie as it should have known the move tackle. So Ash could have won there. It might have took a while because the other trainer spamming hardens but he would eventually faint it.
I definitely have to agree that Ash bringing only one Pokémon to battle Elesa had to be one of his dumbest decisions. He also forgot that grass-types are weak to flying-type moves when his Snivy was battling her Emolga, which, yeah, was incredibly dumb.
At this point I’m willing to bet that he secretly KNOWS it’s them and just plays along to battle their Pokémon and gain more experience as a trainer… cause FREE XP RIGHT?!
Wow I forgot just how lazy Team Rockets disguises were. Its even more pathetic that the police never caught them. All you had to do Ash was find a officer Jenny, tell them to get backup, then wait around till Team Rocket to stumbles up to you in their criminal uniform just with a jacket over top and dollar store glasses. "Hey officer Jenny wanna see something funny?"
@@TheHolySacred-Cow I’ve already done that. I’m just saying that I wish that Ash never released Greninja and that I hope Greninja returns in Pokémon Journeys.
@@TheHolySacred-Cow Yeah. I know that Ash told Greninja to stay in Kalos. That doesn’t mean that it still doesn’t hurt to see the scene and be reminded of it.
I’d argue that the Butterfree trade was less bad judgment and more peer pressure. He wasn’t for it at first but the other trainer really sold the idea of trading to him. As an inexperienced trainer he fell for it. For his battle with Richie, Charizard was quite literally his last option. His error there was not working to earn its respect
I’d like to see either a top 10 continuity callbacks and/or rematches you’d like to see in Pokémon Journeys Or A top 10 best moments so far in Pokémon journeys
There actually has been a few of them, at least on a local level. Though it should be noted that they do keep running and they are members of a powerful crime syndicate. So I can’t imagine police can be bothered especially with the fact that their schemes often fail and it’s rare for people to get hurt anyways.
in the game if your pokemon's level is too high they choose to fight or not or which move they fight = disobey you. you need to collect badges to prevent this. charizard's disobedience is a reference to that. his level got too high without getting several badges/accomplishments. so he does not respect his master.
I think one of the most dumbest decision in the Pokemon anime is Team Rocket(Jessie, James, Meowth) going after one single generic Pikachu. Why go for one when there are thousands of them out in the Pokemon world? It's a Definition of Insanity!
I do find it incredibly stupid that Ash never came back for Pidgeot after he said that he'd come back with the poke ball even though he had the right intentions to leave Pidgeot behind to protect the Pidgey from those Spearow and that Fearow yet I always found the other goodbyes to be justified. Butterfree wanted to be with his loved one, Charizard had to train, Greninja as I saw through a RUclips comment had a purpose to do, and Squirtle had to help out his Squirtle Squad. This shows the kindness good natured heart that Ash has he could have those Pokemon and have them help succeed his dreams yes but he puts their needs first before his and does what he knows in the moment is the right thing for them and not himself. That's what all in all makes him a true master is understanding the feelings of a Pokemon for a none true master only cares about tournaments and being the best but a true master cares deeply about the needs over his friends. So with that said I totally disagree with number one here.
The Pokémon anime as it is now makes me really wish they'd make Pokémon Generations or Pokémon Adventures into an anime. The OG players are in their 20's and 30's now! You know how much people would love that?
To be fair ash beat to Rock gym leader with electric attacks. It probably should have been another 20 years before he won with his understanding of Pokemon.
@@MCG55SS He used the gym's sprinkler system to get Onyx wet so electricity could work on him. The formula of Ash losing the Pokemon league got stale for me that I quit watching the anime during the Diamond & Pearl arc.
@@MrIAMNOTANOOB I had to rewatch them with my daughter as she is being the Pokemon now but no Pikachu literally fries Geodude and makes him look like he got burnt with an electric attack
Brock's dad Flint actually has Ash plug Pikachu into a hydro-electric mill and then supercharges him. He says that "Pikachu's body will get used to the high voltage" and that it will make him stronger..
To be fair, it's fair that Ash didn't know that Poison is effectiveless to Steel its broken what is/isn't going to hit if it has no effective, because Ground moves have hit Flying for example
To be fair Ash didn't "release Greninja, he lent it to squishy(Zygarde) to destroy the roots of negative energy. True he could have went back when word spread that the job was done. But most of the time Ash doesn't release Pokemon for asinine reasons. Heck Jessie released her Dustox for the benefit of other Pokemon
Watchmojo,when do you do top 10 pokemon generation 4,top 10 Pokemon generation 5,top 10 pokemon generation 6,top 10 pokemon generation 7,and top 10 pokemon generation 8.It's been years,please do.
I agree with the #1 choice here. Ash losing the Kalos League made me lose interest in the rest of the XY season, but Ash releasing Greninja was the last straw and made me quit the anime for three years. It was such bullshit. They couldn’t justify Ash leaving him at Oak's lab and not using him again since he was so strong so they wrote him out entirely.
The whole Kalos thing is top tier, every story is great even Team Rocket, that Malamar 🔥. And then, we get a shitty animation in Sun and Moon... The most ridiculous thing is the fact that, since Kalos, Ash never talks about Greninja...
The thing with Ash releasing Greninja was because Zygarde requested Greninja help to protect Kalos from the Megalith's remnants, so Ash had to say goodbye because Greninja needed to help guard Kalos meaning a potentially very long time before they could see each other again.

Despite using Charizard against Ritchie was not a good idea, Ash actually didn't have much choice, since Charizard was the only Pokémon he had that was in condition to fight. If there's someone to blame on that, then it's Team Rocket. If they didn't lure Ash into a trap by using Richie's voice, Ash would have all his Pokémon fresh for battle.

you know i never uderstood Charizard's behavoir towards ash, you'd think the fact that he saved him from near death as a charmander, would count for something, ontop of nearly freezing to death along side him, and Ash's other pokemon.
It's cuz he evolved him too early. Usually in the game if you don't have enough gym badges your Pokémon with higher levels sometimes won't obey you. The anime shows that example where Ash was still a novice trainer and had evolved Charmander too quickly. There's also the case that when Charmander evolved to Charmeloen he grew to be more prideful and arrogant in his new stronger evolved form after winning against a horde of Exeggutors but started to disrespect Ash when he told him to fight a Paras, and lose. Remember the near death experience being frozen was during the orange island season which was way after Charmeleon evolved and was where Charizard started to like Ash again.
@@IamJerf I don’t think it had much to do with badges, otherwise after getting all eight, charizard should’ve started obeying all of Ash’s commands without question. I’d say it was because it felt Ash’s skill level was below its strength. Some of the badges Ash got weren’t won by his skills as a trainer, but were given to him out of gratitude or something else. So charizard didn’t view him as a worthy trainer, not till it saw the lengths he was willing to go through to nurse it back to health after a poliwrath defeated it.
The thing ash releases his pokemon because he is not the type of trainer who dont care about his pokemon....he have a special bond and care for pokemon and knows what is best for them....look he is a 10 yr old
How ash forgets type matchups lol. The gym leader evolving his pickachu early was kinda dumb I guess he should’ve lvled it. Yeah….that was dumb for ash not apologizing for the gym.
@@trexadvent4726 we didn't even see that one in full.
@@UltimateHero128 but it's better than nothing
AHEM1313. THAT is a very good observation. When I first saw that Celadon Gym Battle episode, I always thought of Erika's attendants being unfair to Ash for petty reasons. They outright booted him out without them hearing directly from their leader Erika herself.
I agree! I also disagree with some more like the Radicade trade for Butterfree, because it was Brock who forced him too and Misty never cared!
For those complaining that Ash never found Pigeot again, need i remind you that that was a dub only line? Yeah in the original Japanese, he just says goodbye to it. He never says that he’ll meet with it again.
Exactly the dubs always makes those kinds of mistakes. I don't understand why people don't get it that it was the dubs error
I believe the showrunners in Japan know about the mistake. The whole world except Japan believes that Ash dumbed Pidgeot. They could have fixed this problem with at least 1 episode
It was the company 4kids fault. They should've been like today's anime dubbers who do most properly
At least in the last episode of Journeys did Ash finally came back for his Pidgeot again.
Wow idk that makes sense for that case
When it comes to the anime, one has to remember that Pokemon are still living creatures with their own wants, needs and desires. And several of Ash's Pokemon would be happier leaving him, even if it pains both them and Ash.
Greninja protect Kalos.
Its touching moment But painful.
He also wasn't aware that flying types were immune to ground, as evident by him only using palpitoad against Elesa
See the reason for making ash forget such things is to show he is still evolving.. as stupid it sounds.. it kinda makes sense.. if Ash knew all things then makes no sense for him to lose..
Ash saw Iris's Excadrill fight a wild Scolipede in Black and White. Doesn't that count?
@@abishikthebenezer5458 maybe, BUT, you can still know things and still do stupid things, I mean, the anime’s writers proved that when they wrote what happens when Ash battled Tate and Liza in Hoenn
Here’s a Dumb Decision…REPLACING the original voice actors Veronica Taylor, Eric Stuart, Tara Sands, and Rachel Lillis!
It was also a stupid decision to stop paying them for commercials which is what led to the “Leo Burnett and 4Kids are the devil” easter egg

@@ragnaricstudios5888 the Pokémon company wanted cheaper and less expensive actors to pay

What about changing the art style in sun and moon? Or creating tobias so that ash couldn't win the league
Put both of them here. But the change art style is the most dumest decision.
This list is more about the characters in the show making dumb decision. Not TPCI and other creators.
Well one, that is a subjective opinion, Two, this is the list of things that happened IN the episode itself!
the art style was such a jarring change, i literally wasnt sure i was watching the right anime at first
also tobias is the definition of plot armor (literally has a full team of legendaries and cant be beaten)
The art style change was part of an effort to bring the Anime's own target audience back in. It worked.

THANK YOU ON THAT LAST POINT. The Alola region animation was such a jolting downgrade from Kalos. It actually made Ash look younger. I wouldn't even call that a style, it looks terrible.
After kalos the anime start to get childish.
I agree with SM art style.
SM was a comedy focused series. And the wacky expressions toned down as SM advanced.
I would say making a girl's personality revolve around a crush on him is dumber.

Yeah medapod vs medapod was stupid, learn my lesson the hard way when I was a beginner when I used to be into the pokémon franchise, I felt like an idiot for not realizing that the two against each other are basically useless Especially when neither know how to use a physical attack-based move so I had to switch to another Mon in my party just to get the battle over with, I was not the sharpest crane in the box and it took me forever to trying to get through particular parts of fire Red because again I was a beginner
that was the first series, ash was a beginner too
#2 I'll admit this was one of Ash's biggest blunders, but in the episode before that Ash was challenging Bianca's father in order for Bianca to stay on her journey but in exchange if he lost he was to return to Pallet Town, Ash may have lost but luckily Bianca's father changed his mind, the fear of being sent back home made Ash rethink his way of battling, because of that Ash used his head instead of his heart or guts whatever you prefer to try and win against Elisa, and that caused him to overthink things.
Pokemon provides a stimulus for learning and practicing life skills and other learning skills that will be useful later.🥰 Children are drawn to this challenge because of their very nature, needing to deal with their fears and vulnerabilities. 🥰🥰🥰

@@SuperMovieWiz Agreed

My favorite was Croagunk constantly giving him a poison jab when he'd flirt with anybody lol
Mine was gible's draco meteor always hits dawn's piplup.
I’m always constantly debating in my head on who’s dumber, Ash or Team Rocket.
Team Rocket 🚀 Absolutely.

4.this was literally the very start of his journey, you can’t blame him to not being knowledgeable about it.

I honestly think Ash falling for Team Rockets' schemes and disguises should Number 1 instead of 5.

So I can’t imagine police can be bothered especially with the fact that their schemes often fail and it’s rare for people to get hurt anyways.

2. Canceling Pokèmon Chronicles took soon
3. Having Misty replace togepi with azuril
Still to this day don’t understand why charizard was so disobedient. He literally saved it from a douche trainer and death
in the game if your pokemon's level is too high they choose to fight or not or which move they fight = disobey you. you need to collect badges to prevent this. charizard's disobedience is a reference to that. his level got too high without getting several badges/accomplishments. so he does not respect his master.
I think one of the most dumbest decision in the Pokemon anime is Team Rocket(Jessie, James, Meowth) going after one single generic Pikachu. Why go for one when there are thousands of them out in the Pokemon world? It's a Definition of Insanity!
So when are we going a pokemon series without Ash
Probably never. Unfortunately.

Watchmojo,when do you do top 10 pokemon generation 4,top 10 Pokemon generation 5,top 10 pokemon generation 6,top 10 pokemon generation 7,and top 10 pokemon generation 8.It's been years,please do.
I’ll admit this show has made mistakes in the past, but I love it too much to really be bothered by it
For number 10's poison argument, poison actually resist fighting. Using Nagrandal against Lucario isn't that stupid.
But steel is immune to poison and resists dragon so ..
While I’m split on the matter, we did learn Greninja doesn’t care for captivity.
The whole Kalos thing is top tier, every story is great even Team Rocket, that Malamar 🔥. And then, we get a shitty animation in Sun and Moon...
The most ridiculous thing is the fact that, since Kalos, Ash never talks about Greninja...
Greninja protect Kalos from the red vine of chaos.
@@mattiasolsson1523 Still bullshit.
@@supersonicheroes
Either that or Kalos be destroyed.
The thing with Ash releasing Greninja was because Zygarde requested Greninja help to protect Kalos from the Megalith's remnants, so Ash had to say goodbye because Greninja needed to help guard Kalos meaning a potentially very long time before they could see each other again.
Ash was like.
Ash: Oh Greninja 🥲
Ash will always be an eternal 10 year old 😄
And it's not even the worst decision the Pokémon Anime has made.
Ash will NEVER enter Puberty & have the HOTS 🔥 for Misty.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

1. Waiting 20 years just for ash to win the league
It was team Rocket and anime direction fault.
One of the dumbest decisions in the pokemon anime was completely changing the artstyle in Gen 7...
Gen 1 ash looks older than gen 7 lol
I hate gen 7 Ash design.
At least his characterization went back to what it was before Best Wishes and XY.
Also, the redesign was a hit with the kids.
That Raichu vs Pikachu fight was awesome
Top Pokegirls in Pokemon anime
1. Misty
2. Iris
3. May
4. Lillie
5. Lana
6. Mallow
7. Dawn
8. Jessie
9. Chloe
10. Bonnie
@@LittleAl016 Jessie doesn't count.
@@NicholasHamilton1718 Why not?
@@LittleAl016 She's part of Team Rocket
@@NicholasHamilton1718 So? That doesn't mean that she's not a PokéGirl. That's like saying that Essentia isn't a PokéGirl because she's, depending on the canon, a member of Team Flare or the first member of an attempt to rebuild Team Flare.
Ash won the Orange League championship and no one mentions it. So technically Ash won 2 League championships.
Number 1: changing ash’s character
By which you mean what?
@@wikiuser92 he went from a savage to a child
@@amazingtrooper5893 In SM? No. He went from overly shonen to a vacation.
@@wikiuser92 He's talking about overall. His personality in the original series, especially in Indigo League, was vastly different from how it is after Johto.
@@LittleAl016 That's natural. It's character development.
I don't think Ash should have won the exhibition match. League champion absolutely, but if he had lost the exhibition match it would have been a great way to show that he still had a lot more to learn.
You mean the Alola league?
Number 1: Making Ash the protagonist
Bruh you killed me
I have to disagree with that
@@shinyhunteralana2297 He kinda sucks though
I feel like he'd be a better protagonist with Lei
@@shinyhunteralana2297 Idk what that means
Lets not forget ash has amnesia every new regio he enters
7. Having The protagonist loose A championship while their at their best (In this Case Sinnoh & X & Y)
Sounds like someone's salty. Ash was good in Alola too.
@@wikiuser92
I agree.
@@timmyboy6866 Thanks.
Ash was at his worst in Sinnoh and XY.
@@LittleAl016 are you talking about?! he was at his best during those times if anything he was at his worst during Kanto, Hoen, Univa, Alola do your research next time you wanna talk shit
you know i never uderstood Charizard's behavoir towards ash, you'd think the fact that he saved him from near death as a charmander, would count for something, ontop of nearly freezing to death along side him, and Ash's other pokemon.
Number 1: Changing the Animation Style after XYZ (Production Wise)
That's because the showrunners wanted to get back the audience they lost during the entirety of XY's initial run.
The thing ash releases his pokemon because he is not the type of trainer who dont care about his pokemon....he have a special bond and care for pokemon and knows what is best for them....look he is a 10 yr old
Yes. That’s a point. When Ash says goodbye he do care. Sometime Ash cried when he release them, But Yeah its what’s best for his Pokémon.
Ash and Team Rocket had made a lot of mistakes throughout the Pokémon anime, but at least Ash tried to learn from them compared to Team Rocket.
Not really. Ash never learned to see through their tricks or disguises, and Team Rocket often tried the same tricks to steal Pikachu.
How ash forgets type matchups lol. The gym leader evolving his pickachu early was kinda dumb I guess he should’ve lvled it. Yeah….that was dumb for ash not apologizing for the gym. Trading butterfree was dumb and him giving up Charizard. Metapod vs metapod was funny. Butterfree wanted to mate. Greninja makes sense
Number 1 should be Ash going to Alola and turning into a blob person.
Saying goodbye to Greninja and forgetting about the basic rules of matchups
