The Ginger Chan hot mic moment was epic!!! I watched it live. RIP Sam. It is clear watching the outpouring of love and tributes that you were loved beyond what even you knew. My sincere and most heartfelt condolences to your family (at KTLA and at home).

See! THIS is why I love KTLA 5 news channel. They keep it real with one another. They've had so many fun times, creating lasting memories for years to come. I just love hearing them talk about their day or what they did over the weekend, etc. And them recalling those special moments with Sam is something we don't see or hear much with other newscasters/reporters. We don't get to see that closeness between them. And it's okay, I know work can be just work. But it's good to see them be friends to one another.
They are a FAMILY. Through the good times and the bad, they put the diss in dysfunctional. Just like siblings do with one another lol. Love the stories they tell. Sam would be smiling and chiming in with some of his own jokes right about now.

He was an L. A. Institution and an icon, and I don't even live in Los Angeles. I remember watching him on WGN Morning News. R. I. P. Mr. Rubin.
