Hi Dr, first I would like to thank you for your research related explanations. I want to aske one question. I am conducting a reasearch on "Assessing Investment Opportunities and Challenges for establishing hotels" with the following specific objectives 1.To analyze the trends of hotel investment practices in the study area. 2. To identify available investment opportunities for hotel establishment. 3. To investigate major investment challenges for hotel establishment. the question here is that how to apply mixed research methods depending on the above specific objectives or is there no way to apply it? thanks in advance.
I love your explanation very good one question would you classify a research that used descriptive-analytic and cross-sectional a mixed method research?
Hello Ms. Ker. Thank you for kind comment. Descriptive (survey) and cross- sectional are one and the same thing. Cross-sectional is a type of survey. So this is a mono-methodological study (check lesson 12) Access all lessons on www.researchmethodsclass.com/research-methods-course/ Do not forget to subscribe and to recommend the channel to your classmates.
I did a serie of papers of which 3 are qualitative and 2 quantitative. However, they were not directly connected/ triangulated. Can I still call the whole mixed-methods?
Thank Lutala for your question. Research is MM only when you combine QUAN and QUAL. So having a purely QUAN paper and another purely QUAL does not qualify them to be MM. Remember we also have Multi-Method research where you combine more than one QUAN designs or more than one QUAL designs
@@research-methods-class hello Dr Lydia, if i research, I combine quan and qual designs for different research questions in one research project. Is that a mixed method or a multi method?
@@andamandin626 Mixed method means a combination of QUAN and QUAL. Multi-Method means a combination of either two or more QUAN or two QUAL. In other words Multi means the use of different designs in the same paradigm

The type of research Methods is determined by the research problem
