Next time show how you flashed the patio roof to the existing roof
Same
Yes, this is a huge detail we need!
I don’t think they did flash it I don’t look like they get a lot of rain here either whatever the hell they are
They don't have to flash it to the existing roof, you can put some ice gaurd over the transition and double layer shingles there to make the transition smoother. Otherwise just shingle up to the transition and try to get the last row of shingles the same as the rest, or measure and get it exact. But I would just eye ball it then work my last few rows of shingles to where the row meeting the original shingles looks about right, no one will be able to tell if there a little shorter.
We really wanted to know how you guys attached it to the roof and water proofing it. The video didn’t cover most of the work
they shingled under the other shingles, used tar paper, and attached the rafters to a ledger board which they nailed to the house probably through some kind of membrane or directly idk. You can lay down liquid rubber, paper, liquid rubber, and nail through that and put flashing on your ledger if you wanted, then cover it with a roof with the shingles tucked under the ones above that. You need a drip edge, paper, and shingles. You can use liquid rubber for the roof before all that to lay a waterproof layer
100% agree.. on the description is says step by step..This video didn't cover most of the work
@@najikhan3493 right!
What is the point of flashing if it’s covered by roof shingles
No idea what was being said, yet still enjoyed it and laughed. And learned!
Well done on the filming.
Thank you so much
The good old days when wood still grew on trees and still cost like it did.
Nice job. I would put blocking under eaves on top of outside header to keep birds from roosting there.
looks good, like the editing made me laugh. take care and keep up the good work compilla.
Thank you💯
That was a very nice patio build!
Do you have a close look how to secure the rafters in the old roof?
Seems to me that they secured to the roof right through the shingles. Just what I seen. I don't believe I would've done that.
You suppose to tighten those anchor bolts so the ends will spread out and grab onto the drilled hole. I didn't see you doing that on the video...
si señor
This video made me laugh out loud! Great, and super funny, editing! 🤣
Thank u🔥
Chido. Nice work.
Great job. Keep up the great work

Good job guys!
I'm a huge fan cuhh
Gracias👍🏼
Great vid. Just have a question, how did you guys attached it to the roof of the house?
2x6 plate with 5”screws dawn to the rafters on the house and hangers on our rafters
Amigo just watched the video myself looks like screws. I think that’s a California thing. In tornado country we need a bunker and 4 inch bolts plats. Just like a el cono you got to screw it though lol Im only kidding
@@drewmayberry8903 I think it's more of a mexican thing.
Noice 🔥
play the meme😭
This is great work.
thank you
Excelente trabajo primo...
Awesome work
Hola Jonathan y todos. Eres bien baciado. Saludos!
Mandame tu email y te paso mi numero
Hola Jonathan. Creí que vivian en California. Saludos!
Great work and video !!! I enjoy the funny editing 😄 🤣
How did you attach it to the roof without creating leaks?
They’ll answer you in December 🤣🤣🤣
it was shingled after
This is exactly how I want to build my patio, what was the cost for supplies???? Great video.
Una feeeeeria!!!
Don't do it like this
Good video lil homie
how do you find the angle for the rafters? Thank you,,very good!!
So it just resta on top? Its not screwed to the supports?
Did you use anything between roof and lumber to make it smooth?
Yo you’re funny bro! You made this fun to watch
thank you sm
Muy buen trabajo 👍
Gracias
How far is the span from each post? I’m having a problem. I have 2 4x4 16 feet apart I’m trying to figure what header to use in order for it not to sag overtime in the middle. I’m also using 2x4 as rafters
7 1/2 from post to post. You can use 2. 2x6 and sandwich them together or you can use a 4x6
If you live in the city, can visit your city planning and building department ask for a brochure and you can build your patio to city codes. I advise to get a city permit.
@@curiousjonathan you are not even close.
@@curiousjonathan and if those posts are 7 1/2 center to center that would mean your rafter layout must be on appx 9 or 10" centers and your bosses are about 4' tall and you're about 3' tall. lol That really doesn't jive now does it? In reality, you're lying or don't know how to read a tape measure. Either way, in REALITY, your beam is way undersized and that would mean: NO, this is NOT how you build a patio cover.
2, 4x4s 16 ft apart? I would definitely recommend throwing in a extra 4x4. They shouldn't be more than 8 ft apart.
Matter of fact swap the 4x4s with 6x6s they'll last longer, hold more weight, and just in general look better.
I know it's been a year since you posted this so hopefully everything did come out to your liking.
Best of luck with your future projects.
👍👍
🔥🔥
😎
nice job but im curious i dont
see any gutters or where the raining water go
ruffing
Where are you guys located? Do you guys build for others? I’m looking to get work done at my place
👍❤️
That kid that was helping should have immediately picked up the small pieces of wood on the ground, since he almost fell and tumbled because he stepped on them. Always have a clean ground around you when you work on projects to avoid falls and accidents. Other than that this was a very good project.
THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!!!🤯😂😂😂😂😂👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Everything was good till the music came on lol
Good editing
Hahaha chingon!!
I like how these guys bring the ninos to work. Teaching the next generation is important with this type of work. Might not matter this kid might end up a you tuber or something. 😂🤣😂🤣
What city do you guys live in did you check with the city first in order to build this?
Yes a permit is require for this type of jobs
@@curiousjonathan I build one without pulling permit mofos around here snitched me out to the city👎👊
@@dirkdiggler7990 What was the fine?
@@SEILLC Not sure yet😥
Buen jale compa.
Gracias
Not sure where you're at. Shingle wouldn't pass inspection on anything less than a 4/12.
Thank you so much for your RUclips.

Bad ass Chanel
Drilling in concrete with a speed drill?????..
How much did you spent on materials?
Arent those supposed to be 2*10 or 2*12?
Leave the nut at the end with a few threads showing to use as a hammer spot
shouldn't there be a knee brace for horizontal stress?
No Habla.
Just curios what size beam? Is that 3 x6? And what's the post to post span? The beam looks thin for the post to post span? Was this with inspection? Just curios cause I'm gonna use 6x6 with a 6x10 beam 15ft span post to post
The center post is not wide enough to support the two top beams, those two beams are only are resting on 2 1/2 inches the center post should have been 4×8 ,to me is a weak patio because the post are being anchor by a bolt with the bracket with no foundation with only 4 inches of concret
How many feet apart are the support columns, in both directions?
Too many
How did u attached it to the roof ?
We took off the shingles from the roof. Then we attached the 2x6 to the decking
Tiene suficiente caída para ponerle shingles??
How big is that patio
Easy Work jale fácil pa dany pura threaded wood 2×6 y4×4 de posta y roofiado
How did they attach to roof?
How much did it cost for the extension roof, I'm looking to do the same thing to my home as well.
do you mean labor? depends on the company. Do you mean materials? That depends on the size of your patio, and the price of lumber which is not stable. Its expensive I promise you. I built my patio all by myself, with no help, so my labor was free!
@@toddgraham6006 Okay I see what you are saying, I do not know the size and I do understand it will cost a lot because of the labor. thank you for sharing I greatly appreciated it.
@@toddgraham6006 i suspect she was asking how much this specific project cost so that she would have a base line estimate
how much is something like this i just expanded my concrete in the back yard and want this next
Just to have an idea.
How did you attach the beams to the roof?
We put a 2/6 to the house
Do you have a video of how you attached the rafters the beam on the roof and how you attached the beam to the roof of the house? Trying to build my own patio soon and i like this design
I don’t next video on a patio I will with detail
Hahaha fucking funny editing. Please keep making good educational videos like this and never sell out!
Woody almost fell
Someone gotta teach homeboy to swing a sledge hammer 😂
😂😂
@@curiousjonathan how much was materials for this job?? Or complete price including food for it
@@curiousjonathan roof for it
You guys are in fort worth right?
Hey carnal...
Great job. How long was your patio
30x 14
Why cover it with osb when the underside is going to remain exposed? osb looks tacky. Should have gone with paint grade ccx ply. A bit more expensive but a much nicer more natural look
That was the idea but the client said is only temporary. We’re going back in 8months and put up 6inch cedar tongue and groove
Call me at 7205858167 I have to do installation as soon as possible
Are you in the Dallas forth worth area?
Como cuanto cobraste ese jale
What size was this
14x30
The customer didn’t want cedar rafters? Se hubiera visto hasta mas perron.
Chido morros
What was the distance between each 2x6?
Looks like 16” OC..
si se puede!
No metales ???
Amazing video and I didn’t understand a thing you said 😂
