Rahul Sirji, I was taking a taxi today and noticed the driver was pressing and releasing accelerator continously. Even when road was empty he was pressing accelerator for 3 seconds and then releasing for 3 seconds and then press 3 seconds again. I was curious about this technique. What is your opinion on this?

This is for optimum use of fuel and performance. Once when he is pressing accelerator at that time he was giving power to engine and pick up increase and then he is releasing accelerator so that car can roll at that particular speed for few second without putting extra fuel which automatically increases average or fuel economy. This is technique used in open stretch for better mileage.
In today’s time most car provides economy mode for driving that actually limit sudden acceleration.
