Wow! A lot of clever features in that shirt. You turned a simple garment into an outdoor survival system. Very cool!
Thank you for your very kind comment. . I'm proud of it. Thanks for watching.
I would buy one of these if you made them. The waxed cotton canvas cape makes this even more useful.
Thisis BY FAR the best and most functional woolblanket-shirt i've ever seen! You did a better job, than any manufacturer out there!
Very kind of you to say. . I appreciate that.
I've been sewing since I was a kid which gives me great insight to what you did...Omg.😲 Amazing job!!! I'm saving your video to refer to when I go about creating one of these for my husband. He's a big guy...a 2 wool blanket guy!
Love all of the pockets and the creativity as well as usefulness of the facemask. You could hand stitch small elastic pieces under the eyes and around the neckline to help it fit the curvature of your face. Just size it then pull the elastic a bit as you stitch.
Love the leather cuffs and useful bands with the clip.
But most of all I get why you'd never want to do another. Well done! The oil cloth shoulders and back cover are absolutely genius!
Your comment you left hear is awesome and made my day. I would love to see your finished product. Your husband is very lucky to have such a kind and loving wife. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions but I'm sure you won't have the struggles I endured. Thank you so much for leaving such a kind comment.
That is a nifty-looking anorak with several, EXCELLENT custom features. That facemask snap-on is superb!
Thank you for this video! Well done!
Your welcome.. thank you for the comment and kind words.
Ananorak like that would cost you a king's ransom to buy. Nice, really nice. I'm always impressed by what people make for their own use because it wasn't available to buy or was too expensive. You had a need for something so you went ahead and found out how to make it and made it. When you make something yourself you know it inside out and what all the faults are but no one else does. If it goes wrong, you fix it because you made it, you didn't buy it. Great stuff!
This comment is amazing... clearly from someone who gets it.. and so kind at the same time.. thank you my friend.. stay safe, I feel hard times might be ahead of us..
This is amazingly beautiful, functional and impressive that you designed it JUST the way YOU wanted!!
Really great project. And it is one of a kind. If you ever have a son, it would be great to pass down.
Thank you so much.. my thoughts exactly on the passing it down..
Wow man! That's the best designed one I've ever seen. You should be in the business, friend! Awesome job, impressive, I would have never believed it was homemade; and your first try!
Thank you for saying so..
Thats one of the best anoraks I've ever seen. Great job!
shaun Patton ...thank you shaun
Your design is far and away the best I've seen.
That's very nice of you to say.. thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.. Atb.
As a seamstress for life I have to say...what a great job you have done with that shirt! I have picked up some great ideas from you. Thanks for the pointers and the video. Good job!
BarbedStar .. that is a big compliment coming from a real seamstress. I'm just glad to have helped.. thank you.
You did such a nice job and video, I saved it. I did really relate to your attitude of 'just jump in and do it'. So many are afraid they will fail which is how we all learn. Good job.
So many people don't have the confidence to try their hand at this type of skill and think it's great you jumped in and did a great job even though you had minimal experience. Love this...great encouragement!
Absolutely boss! Love the oilskin additions, the sleave pockets and the hat snap. Great job! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much.. and thank you for commenting..
I have to admit, your design is far superior to anything on the market today.
patriotpioneer .. wow thank you for saying so.. the advantage of making your own gear allows you to think outside the box and customize it as you see fit.. thanks for the kind comment. .
You are Welcome, Where Credit is Due, Credit Should Be Given!
Genius. Great craftsmanship and one can see a lot of thought went into the design to make it very functional as well as beautiful.
Thank you very much
No straight lines? Sounds like caricature to me. The design, assembly, color, everything you've done here screams awesome! I would buy one. Outstanding job.❤❇🏕🔥🥓
Your very kind Brian.. thank you for leaving a comment.. so kind!
Great Job. That is the best Anorak I've seen. You know what you wanted and did it. Thats priceless. Such great features in that. You covered everything. Impressive.. good for you
A very kind comment. . Thank you Shawn.
Wow, what a great shirt! It's perfect, I will attempt to make one for my husband. I sew a little, so I admire your work. My husband loves your style. Thank you for sharing.
That is kind of you to say.. and even more kind to do that for your husband. . I would love to see how it turned out. .
You gave the shirt your best requests and requirements a lot of thought that's why its so good.
Awesome design! And knowing you have the ability to fix or adjust it at any time makes it feel even better.
You did a great job; like you said, it’s a life shirt. When you make a great piece, it will be a quality tool; be it clothing or ax! Great works!!! I’m so glad I found this video!
The face mask and kept on the arm! I LOVE that kind of convince and innovation!!!!!!Awesome!!!! I’ve been sewing for 41 years, and most things are not straight stiching👍❤️ unless it’s curtains. Then use the same color thread to hide the wavy lines you stitch that’s my tip👍
Awe... thankyou.. I'm so glad you left this comment just knowing that there is people like you who understand. Thanks
I'm a sewer and I fell it looks really good. I made one out of just flees when I was hiking a lot, I put pockets etc. all kinds of goodies on and still have it, I also made the pants to go with it. Has kept me warm now for some 15 yrs. I like the shoulder and sleeves. Good job!
Brilliant! Well, done! I really appreciate the creativity that you put into this coat. I am grateful for your willingness give back to the community. I too, am searching for making an anorak coat. I appreciate you sharing your talents. Cheers from the US!
Wow! That is one amazing jacket, I love it!!!
Your comment is amazing to me.. thanks for leaving it here..
Well done. And the mirror on the air is a great idea. Quick draw for an emergency.
Kaki colour. Not bad! And a DIY. I am going to adapt some of your ideas. Thanks a million. It really is good to hear from people who consider price!
Same paige.. same paige Carole.
This is about doing things to your best ability & bush crafting .
frame of heart mind sole. Thanks for expanding and sharing.
Evan... you get it.. 100% .. thanks for leaving a very kind comment.
nice job on the shirt, your hammer is called a lath hammer, used in making lath and plaster walls
Great design. You should definitely consider a business. 👍
Thank you for your kind words.. I have been told this.. maybe in time..
Great job! The oil skin additions are a great idea. The tomahawk was a roofers tool when cedar shingles were popular. Thanks for sharing.
Whoa! great job! You really did go all-out. One trick: make the back longer (make a tail) with oilskin and line it; it's a life saver if you have to sit on a wet log or cold rock.
I have thought about that.. maybe some day I will.. thanks for your kind word good advice and watching the video.
These are awesome ideas. Some of the best additional features I've ever seen added to any homemade anorak/boreal shirt. Especially love the oilcloth capelet and the shoulder pockets. I've been planning on making a wool blanket anorak myself for quite some time, and now I'll definitely be including a few of these things when I do.
That is so good to here.. thank you for watching and commenting.
Great job and anorak! Love all the pockets and I understand your pain when it comes to using a sewing machine. Great job.
Michigan Hiker ... lol I know you know my pain... in the end.. we get the job done and learn from our mistakes. that's what makes it ours.. thanks for watching
I would buy this it's so much better than the one I bought.
Your coat looks really good and turned out nice. Also. you have incorporated some very great ideas in the features. Nice job. You have given me some ideas for my own coat project. Thanks for the video and for sharing your coat and ideas and opinions with us.
excellent! I've been watching different videos and your design is best by far. Can't see paying $500+ dollars for a wool shirt
I totally agree. . Why pay .. just do it yourself. . Thanks for watching. .
I'm an Aussie , and I recognised those oil skin shoulder covers of a 'dry as a bone ' jacket .
Great job Bro ! I like the shoulder extras too , that face mask is genious , seriously .
Built in knife , belt loops, signal mirror ! :)
Better than a baught one !!! I'm inspired , thanks for sharing , I'm definatly making one !!! :)
That's awesome.. thank you.. let me know how it turns out man.. I'm here if you have any questions.. ATB
That's a great looking anorak! Great job. Love the Oilskin components, quite thoughtful.
The oil skin really makes a difference. . Waxed canvas would work as well. . Thanks for your comment.
Awesome Hoodie!
Genius ideas incorporated
man I wish you were selling this shirt I would love to have it haha great job bro
Thanks Eric.. thanks for leaving a comment.
this is by far the best I have seen.
Man! I love it! I watched a couple vids about them despite them being out of my budget, then the diy vids popped up! I decided I'm going to make one with the help of my partner and she wants to make one too! But as a diy one, yours is packed with some awesome features! Love the oilskin additions and leather cuffs. So well though out and inspiring! Great job!
Thank you very much.. I hope yours turns out even better.. thanks for watching.
Love the design so far the best of all I see. That’s gonna be expensive if you sell it. Regular one range already more or less $300 good job I’m making mine too I’ll use Braided fishing line 100 Lbs. Hand stitching I’ll copy most of your jacket good job bro.
Like the shoulder pieces. Great for backpacks also and just to prevent wear.
Very good point.. thank you.
That is excellent! You thought of about everything! Great job
Thank you for saying so.. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
Great Job on the Anorak. Looks nice.
Thank you very much. .
That jacket turned out very nicely! I'd like to try something like that soon. I hope you make more videos soon. The ones you have made so far is very inspiring
Your very kind joe .. thank you
I really like the color and the contrast with the black.
I am impressed!
That's really nice. Lots of good features and consideration into it.
I love this pattern!!! Great job!
Very neat looks awesome.
I love your blanket shirt

a very excellent design, indeed! best from Greenland.
That is awesome!! Good job!
Thank you very much
Looks great man. I'm just starting to gather materials and purchased a pattern that I'll be altering and making my own before too long. Lots of great features on yours.
I hope I helped a little. . So glad to here yoir going to make your own.
You went all out bro that jacket is boss.
Thanks man.
You did a great job! So many interesting and functional elements, I really like the arm patch/scarf element. Looks fantastic, very utilitarian and sensible. Thanks for this video, I'm definitely going to pull a few ideas from your design. Nothing like the sense of pride that comes from knowing you made something perfect for you, and others wanting something similar =)
Nice design. Construction looks top notch. You can always use some cheap cotton blankets to test patterns. One nice thing is that you can go practical, not fashion statement. Maybe I should start looking for a wool blanket.
My Mom could sew and not knit, and her friend could knit but not sew. So they traded. I would try sewing my own. Nice tomahawk. My brother used a carpenters hatchet instead of a hammer for framing. Thank you for the video.
shovelhead8 ....thanks for the compliment. .I say jump in and go for it. it sounds like you have experienced people at your disposal. . .take all the ideas and design you have seen and make them your own ... and your right it's not about fashion.. it's functionality and most of all ..pride in your work...i woul like to see the final product ...and check out black stump survival he did a really good job on his....thanks man..
That is so so good! Well done! Magnificent work ❤
Thank you.
Buddy.. Good for you.. That is a incredible
Thanks man.. glad you liked it
Amazing jacket design.

Thank you for saying so .. im glad my video made it to your recommendations list.. thanks for watching.
You did an amazing job ,lots of innovative ideas ! Thanks !
Michael Ryan .. thanks for the complement my friend.
Bartering Bushcraft Crafty By Nature ,you probably have a $5 - 6 hundred dollar anorak if bought pre made , I'm going to try and make one ,but I doubt it will be as awesome as yours, thanks for sharing !
If nobody has mentioned it beford I believe the color is called "loden", it's a green brown or a brown green....take yer pick lol. I personally like the color....its not too light or dark and is just drab enough to blend in with most natural foliage
I'm sorry .. I just found your comment. . Laden eh? Cool I'll go with that. . Thanks
I am new to your channel, and did just subscribe because of this video. I am impressed with the thought you put into this shirt and how well it came out too. Could you direct us to a good video to learn how to make one. I know there are none exactly like this one, but a starter video would really be helpful so I could possibly make Hubby and myself a couple of these? Hubby is very impressed with how well it looks and the complete shirt as a whole. Thanks for the great inspiration and I would like to see more of these kinds of videos, from you and others on RUclips too. Keep these kinds of videos coming, I am sure it will improve your subscriber totals too.
I missed your comment sharon, I'm sorry. Thank you for the kind words. As far a videos I'm sorry to say there wasn't one at the time I made this shirt that gave great insight and instruction on how to go about it. Like I said just watch as many DIY or how to videos as you can.. then just jump into it. I am positive you will pull it off.. I hade very little experience with sewing but I knew I wanted to make a boreal shit for myself.. I hope creation turns out just the way you Invision it.
I am glad I found your video, I am going to make one, and you had a lot of great ideas for your shirt.
That makes me happy to here.. I hope it turns out to be even better than mine.. thank you for your kind words.
You did a good job with the boreal shirt.
Nathan4071 thanks Nathan..
Great shirt You made. Good time You shared with us.
Thank you
That’s really impressive
Thank you for saying so and thanks for watching .
Wow man amazing job with at I'd love that for myself
Paul's Bushcraft camping n cooking .. thanks Paul. . I have to recommend giving it a go. I do believe that almost anyone can do it.. thanks for the comment. .
Awesome shirt and I really like that fireplace!
Good eye... thanks for your comment
Really great job! The mirror is ingenious. The hood is amazing. I also love how you incorporated the oiled canvas. One thing about making the gear yourself is that it helps you realize why some of the store bought stuff is priced the way it is. Think about how many hours it took you, then add cost for material and time to design.
I hear you.. that seems to be the way of the world now.. I wish I could give everyone one for free.. thanks for your comment
Instead of the oilskin parts, could have made a leather anorak a half size bigger to go over top…. Layering is your friend.
That is my plan…. been planning it for about twelve years lol. Hopefully I get the leather anorak made before summer, as I’ll be in Alaska for at least two months and my land there is coastal and gets cold even in the warm months…
That's a roofers hatchet. Great repurpose. I was thinking of something similar for the shirt in regards to the oil cloth that you did on yours. I love what you did. I have the wool now I gotta find the outback duster to cut up or make my own out of leather. I'm gonna steal some of your ideas! 👍😀👍
Great job on the shirt! I subscribed. Keep up the great work.
Did you ever make one.. would love to know how it turned out if you did. .
Thanks, that's a lot of well thout out ideas. Great job.
Thank you
@@craftybynature3760 I am collecting stuff to make one, I hope it turns out half as nice as the on you made. You have inspired me. Thanks
@@dannyl2598 .. as long as your proud of it and it does what you want it to do.. then, it will be just as good as mine. Because that is all my jacket is to me.
Nice job!
Thanks my friend
Great job
Jay P. . Thank you sir.
Man,i have said it before ,but great work. Thanks for sharing.I am looking to treat some canvas soon for a chair and a stool, maybe attempt a boreal/anorak shirt ,thank you for the inspiration.

Windham Woodcraft .... easy now Chris. .I have seen your shirt and there is nothing wrong with it.. I'm enjoying all your videos.. we have the same thoughts on knives and the stigma that follows. .but thanks for the compliment and sub..
Subscribed excellent channel and explanation
Thank you for saying so..
Thanks for sharing that's a good piece of gear just not a shirt. Good job
Great job other manufacturers could learn a lot from this great pull over, your skills are just fine ,yes I have used the leather dye on garment in the past works great. Thanks for sharing your effort and video .
Mike Boone.. thanks mike it is about that time we start thinking of warm outer ware.. I love my homemade anorak and I hope i have inspired a few others to make there own.. thanks taking the time to comment. .
Really nice ob on the coat. That was a carpenters hatchet too I'm sure you already knew that. They are great for cedar shaking a house.
Big Boy Bushcraft ... thanks man for taking the time to watch... it was the first big job on the sewing machine and we'll worth it. I use it alot when it gets real cold up here. . I appreciate the fact that you take the time to leave a comment. . it means alot to me..
Big Boy Bushcraft .. I can't believe you left a comment 5 months ago and I didn't know it was you bud.. too funny..
Great shirt! I see the small sacs jou addit to it: special the thing jou put on jour face to protect against the wind: genial!.We bike here (Holland) a lot and always against the wind. (*smilie) So i will make that on the jacket of my joungest son,
Thanks for sharing. JM
I do like jour chair too!
Thank you for watching.. i think Holland people are some of the nicest people you could ever meet.. thanks for watching.
love it
Love you comment. . Straight to the point.
Nice
There is just so much common since in your design, I just had to comment on it as for the cold weather coming here in Oceanside California that is not our problem it's 3 hour drive to some snow if we even get any at all but last year was great lots of rain and snow . P S don't let this be your last project let those wheels turn and make more you have the common since approach which is lacking in most manufacturing. Now follow your comments on over heating come up with a fall pull over. Take care I'm in the middle of making 2 Tomahawk handles as we speak . Good luck .
I'm sorry I missed this comment.. a comment this kind deserves a thank you.. .. thank you.
