- My name is Bobby and I'm theletterisb. Now what is theletterisb all about? I've created this channel with the intention of creating the very best video editing tutorial platform on RUclips. I'm sick and tired of all these boring, not straight to the point and way too long editing tutorials that we have to click through, just so we can get a little bit of educational value out of it.
For this reason I decided to do it the right way. Create short, exciting tutorials, teaching you the very best techniques to create professional video content.
But wait there is even more to talk about! This channel has evolved into so much more than just editing tutorials. At some point within my career I decided that I would like to use my acquired skills as a teacher, and share all my knowledge as a consultant when it comes to filmmaking, video editing, productivity.
With this vision in mind and I'm planning to release a lot of exciting content in the future. I'm Bobby and I'm theletterisb.

Can you make a tutorial/video explaining when and how to use the compositing mode settings?
Hey there, good idea. To give you a basic understanding for compositing modes, you usually use them to change the blending mode of a specific scene or overlay. For example if you have a fire overlay that you want to put on top of your footage without a black background included you would change the compositing mode to add. I hope I was able to help you. Hey, ich spreche auch nicht von den Presets sondern von den Videos die ich kostenlos produziere. Von denen möchte ich in Zukunft noch mehr machen! Und oftmals gibt es auch kostenlose Presets von mir. Du brauchst dich lediglich mal durch meine alten Videos klicken.

I'm doing a Covid-19 video and need to create an animated arrow showing the distance between two people. do you have a tutorial on how to do that?
No, but you could take a color solid and create a rectangle mask that you would then animate within the masking window. So you start at the beginning of the timeline and create a really small square with the "Square mask creation tool" so that you can move to another frame within the timeline and extend the square by selecting a line from the square and drag it to the right, for example. Then you have a cool looking growing line animation and you can add some png arrows to the project.

Alright, but after I move the new copy over a few frames, why is the area beneath only black screen?
Because we changed the compositing mode of the video track. Changing settings within the compositing mode of a video track can affect multiple video tracks. Listen to the part at 1:05 carefully! Really important to keep in mind while playing around the compositing modes.

Ich wollte das direkt mal in ein Video einbauen, aber ich kann den Clip leider nicht importieren..also nicht via drag and drop in die Time line ziehen?

Hey, dankschön! Freut mich sehr das dir das Video gefallen hat. Normalerweise solltest du kein Problem haben ein Video in VEGAS Pro zu importieren, egal ob per Drag & Drop oder mit der "Importieren" Option. Vielleicht verwendet dein Footage ein anderes Format, wie z.B. .mov. Für dies musst du erst das passende Codec installieren. Wenn du das .mov Codec benötigst lade dir einfach den QuickTime Player herunter und installiere diesen. Dann kannst du auch .mov Clips ohne Probleme importieren.

Haha, die Grundlagen habe ich wie jeder andere in der Schule gelernt. Den Rest habe ich mir selber beigebracht. Englische Filme und Serien, englische RUclips Videos sowie das spielen mit internatioalen Freunden. Der letzte Punkt ist aber auch schon lange her da ich schon lange nicht mehr aktiv Videospiele spiele. Nichtsdestotrotz hat das quatschen viel geholfen da man so Englisch am meisten verwendet. yo could you make a tutorial for stinger effect in transition that can be used with OBS for streaming? out there they all uses Premiere but i can't afford that, i only have vegas

@@theletterisb tbh i don't know exact meaning, but i see online that stinger is used more like a "custom" effect, but i could be wrong. It's basically a transition from a scene to another in OBS to make the stream looking more pro/higher quality.
Oh, now I know what you are talking about. Usually it's some sort of overlay that hides one scene for a couple seconds so the new scene can appear right after the transition is finished. How the exact system in OBS works I really can't tell. Maybe they just add the transition as a video and press a button to change scene while the video plays.
@@theletterisb yeah, it's usually in webm extension, often is used after effect, but i think every editing program should be able
