Thank you for bringing Billie Burk to us and honoring her so. She is a virtuoso of seaming! Thank you, too, for showing us the closeups at the end. It helps.
This was a really interesting topic. Her work is beautiful. Thanks for sharing her with us. Love you and your channel for a never ending supply of tips and inspiration.
Wow! Thank you for sharing this show Peggy- Mrs. Burk is chock full of wonderful tips please consider bringing her back for more how to segments- what a gem.
@Silhouette Patterns. First off, love your weekly show! This one knocked it out of the park! I've tried locating ANY patterns or instruction books by Billy Burke ( spelling her name ?? ). Has she ever made physical patterns or physical books of instructions? I've researched everywhere and everyway I can,... nothing shows up. Thank you ahead if you have a way to provide a book that is not a pdf, but a bookstore or pattern available. Billy skill at color selections is amazing.
That's brilliant! This lady's technique would be super with Vince's Dress (4013). There's so much going on in that pattern, but if you kept the embellishments really subtle, I could see it working well. Great show, ladies. Thanks!
She just an AMAZING person. Those techniques she used to Enhance those jackets are absolutely stunning. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT DENIM JACKET WITH THE TOP STITCHING. ❤❤❤❤❤
I hope I am as amazing as this lady when I grow up! Interesting about the comments regarding close ups - this was filmed for TV, it is not a tutorial. Having said that, I am watching on a laptop and can see these fabulous embellishments perfectly - perhaps viewers should try that.
Place the ribbon on the right side of the fabric , so half of its width extends beyond your stitching line. (Basting here is a good idea.) When you attach the matching piece of your seam, sew carefully along the stitching line. 1/16 of an inch of the ribbon will appear on the right side when you press the seam open. If you use a wider ribbon, you can extend beyond the seam allowance as much of the width that you want to show. Note : Wider ribbon will work well in straight seams, but are much harder to handle on curves. Have Fun! Billie
I wish the camera man would come in really close and hold it there for awhile so that one can see the detail. I have noticed the same on your other videos, plus you videos are dark. You need more lighting and a new camera man. This lady’s work was important to see up closely.
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! MY MIND IS EXPLODING WITH IDEAS....THANK YOU!
Don't ever watch this show, I have never sewn, this lady is impressive. I love her fabric choices and colors. Her and her daughter are very talented.
Just saw this on TV PBS in Seattle. May be the best show yet. I'm excited to start embellishing seams!
What a wonderful woman Billie is.... so much creative talent!! Thank you and Billie for sharing her gifts with us.
What a fantastic woman! Wow, I could learn from her so much.

Peggy, you were like a kid getting a treat about the piping. I agree that it is a treat to watch. She is a great teacher.

I wish she had told how to insert 1/8” ribbon into the seam. I understand the other insertions, but can’t figure out the ribbon.

A close up of the seams would have been better.
Did you watch all the way to the end?

Please watch the whole thing as close ups were done.
