I’ve stopped in many wild camping places and never had any issues ! Main thing is to leave no trace and check that there are no parking restrictions . Respect the area and respect the locals and you’ll have no issues
Great advice. As only a wannabe campervan owner what scares me most is not security from van being stolen but van being attacked, or I have i watched too many scary RUclipss?
Thank you. I think there are a few points here. If your staying on a proper campsite, which the majority of people do, it’s very unlikely to happen. If you are staying in the “wild” you are potentially at a greater risk, hence being careful where you park and how you are setup.
Great video. This book looks perfect for when I eventually take delivery of my van. It's now been 16 months since I placed my order with vw. I'd be happy to travel anywhere once I'm a man with a van.
I live in rural area , it’s not camping vans causing any problems they usually park up and use the pub inc canal boaters . It’s was mostly car day trippers leaving bbq and crap everywhere and drive off . I’m not a camper type but can see the appeal my wife pushing to get a van tho .
Great Vid, very sensible advice. Its surprising how many people think they wont get moved on. Be kind and courteous always. My first stop would be somewhere in Kent, stopping at my mums on the way past. I have had my van a couple of years now got during lockdown and never been able to go down to see her in it. Its currently in the garage for new clutch which is not an easy job on a DSG and very expensive. Keep up the great vids.
It’s not just the concern of police moving people on, it’s angry locals giving you no choice but to move on. Oh dear, that’s not good news, however when something like that happens, I think ah well, I know that won’t break again 😀
Great video, I actually litter pic whenever I wild camp to help leave no trace. I would choose somewhere near Snowdonia, as I'd love to take my 3 & 5 year old to see the low flying planes at 'mach loop'
Hi I'm new to camper life due to having autistic non verbal twin girls we would love to go to the peak district's for are first trip our camper is almost ready. We feel this life could benefit them as the love the car drives. Thanks for the great tips look forward to more
Don’t park & drink or you’ll find yourself in the clink!! My next exploration will be Anglesey, all the beauty of Wales wrapped up into a neat little bundle. 😊
Just found you on You Tube and really enjoy your channel. I'm about to buy my new van to start Van life with the wife.Next year going to be a big for us mortgage paid and hopefully a new Camper van .I live in Hampshire near to Southampton and Couldn't find a copy of Brit stops on Amazon so if you got a spare copy yes please saves a trip to Waterstones 🙂.First trips will probably be Swanage and Weymouth for the first weekends then a week around Exmoor probably the big trip will be Scotland or Ireland in August next year.
Thank you. Van life is amazing, so much freedom and so much to explore. I believe you can only buy the book from the website, but you are in the draw 🤞 Sounds like you already have some great trips planned, plus you have the New Forrest on your doorstep 😀
Lots of good advice. Collecting our first van early November. Book looks brilliant, we would more than likely head somewhere in North Wales for our first few stop overs 😊
Loved this video. Never heard of the book but sounds so useful and exactly what we need. My first stops could be anywhere around Cardigan Bay in Wales.
Some great tips here and thanks for the book idea, I saw the app too. Just put down deposit on a new T6.1 campervan which is due in November/December. Our first destination given the time of year is going to be relatively local Ivinghoe Beacon with georgeous views over the Chilterns and surrounding area.
Great vid, only stumbled across your account week or so back. Great advice and on the tyres too. I would aim for the Maidstone area as my first trip using the book :-) Thanks again and look forward to your future posts
Great content 😊. I’m really on the fence about buying a t6.1 new van, the fact it’s diesel and I live in central London even in my commercial van which is a euro 6 . 17 plate is much more expensive to park than a petrol van 😮
Thank you. I know how you feel. Is it worth waiting to see what the new generation of Transporter will be? Possible petrol hybrid option which could be appealing
There are some amazing places up North and Wales and Scotland end the East 🤣 We are lucky as within a relatively short distance we have some beautiful places
Conclusion : get a van, but pretty much don't do anything with it or around it when you stop driving ... Just enjoy driving 😂 Just kidding but it does seem like that sometimes. Thanks for the good advice. I wish people were naturally respectful and sensible, so you didn't have to give some of it. I don't have a campervan yet & it really sometimes makes me wonder if I really want to spend my time worrying about all of this and getting angry at people who don't respect basic savoir vivre. New sub here 👍🌹
@@StaycationLifestyle 😅 Well I will be sta-in from the saffff innit, for some chav spotting. 🤣 I’m often found over the bridge in Cornwall also 😂 The book certainly is. It’s the variety of places to stay I like. I was reading it earlier and came across and adventure centre with archery and other activities, but as it’s in Scotland, it’s not exactly a weekend trip
Anywhere along the coast as I live in the Midlands, however also would be interested in spots up in the Peak District with it being our local national park 🏞 😀
Brit Stops. Would use for a trip to west coast of wales. Just found your channel and had hit the subscribe before saw the giveaway. Great vids keep them coming please
Two more:- 1. Park in a way you can easily drive away, maybe reverse in or turn around, ready to go. 2. Leave the place even cleaner than you found it, if someone else has left litter, you may get the blame, so take it with you.
They stopped publishing the book from this year. It’s now on the app only. The problem with the book was that it became outdated very quickly. The book was nice to have though, but like maps, it’s gone with the times

Regarding the moving on and drinking alcahol. Thats a very grey area and if the police officer can see you had no intention to drive the vehicle. You'd be done for Drunk in charge. Not Drunk Drive.
Can't tell you exactly where my first stop would be , haven't got the book yet , but north west Wales possibly the llyn peninsula or Anglesey , ps you would have thought campers are switched on to these doe's and don't

If local don't like it .jog on .I ain't making noise or mess just enjoying life
Sounds like you are the type of person the locals will get on with well. Unfortunately others don’t act the same. Using items outside is absolutely fine. It’s just setting up outdoor camp and leaving it all out, if your not actually meant to be where your parked. Absolutely you want to enjoy the outdoors 👍
@Staycation Lifestyle agree I don't set everything up when not on sites .but we can't be afraid to pull up and enjoy the countryside without worrying about every car or person that passes .that would take the fun out of the point of been mobile in the first place .I get the fact that we need to be as unseen as possible but some bloke cutting through a bush to tell me to cook my bacon 🥓 inside not outside..well🤷

Thank you 😊 The New Forest certainly is lovely
Very informative, thank you. I'd be off to my happy place which is 40 minutes away at the Gower peninsula South Wales.
