I'm in Arizona. 115 degrees in the shade. My pool is in full sun all day. So if it goes down a 1/4 inch with the water turned off after 24 hours, I have a leak? I don't think so.
I have in ground gunite pool need to lower water in order to blow air out of returns but how can i lower the water if the returns are lower than skimmers ??? For the purpose of closing for the winter.
Thank you for making this video, Randy. NOW, how do I fix the problem? Is there a follow-up video? You mentioned hydraulic cement used to fix the crack at the skimmer. has this type of cement some special properties that make it ideal to use to fix pools?
Every thing that you blokes do is of interest, Randy. You seem to be at the top of your profession so I will leave the ideas to you. Although.... my pastor has approached me about the leak he has discovered in the wall between the pool and the adjoining spa. It wasn't until he drained the spa that he discovered that leak. Now he is hinting that I should make myself available to repair said leak. I told him ," That is a job for the professional pool builders, not DIY blokes like me." He thinks that I am shirking off and trying to get out of doing it. he is correct in his assumptions.

I was thinking the same thing 1/4 inch a day in 80 degrees and above is called evaporation

Step 1 pencil test
Step 2 drain pool....?
What about $5 dye test? Do you work for the water company on commission?
LOL, no doubt!
Never hurts to look at the backwash gasket either. It's always the first thing I check.
How do I find a leak in an above ground pool liner?
You purchase the VILO Vinyl Liner kit from LeakTronics: leaktronics.com
