HAHAHA, ok guys in the event that we need to have a sword battle, we will call you awesome samurais ROFL, listen, kalman is a martial artist, a real one, he can fight, and he can use his sword to cut for real if he needs to this is a SHOW and in this show he is the best, I LOVE YOU GUYS! pure entertainment with the "wouldnt last in a sword battle" i ask, whens the last sword battle anyone has been in? BAHAHAHAHAH
Thanks for not being a jerk about it like seem ppl who just say this is garbage. some stuff my be impractical but its a form. thanks for appreciating the skills involved
for people who thinks that some of the moves aren't practical, obviously in our age we don't use sword skills for 'real fights' anymore, we got cops and the military for that... or our lawyers... so I appreciate this more as an art form than something used in combat situation (now that we have guns etc.).. as an sport-art I think this is quite good..
holy crap i'm so glad someone did a doubel sword form. i had this idea but i knew someone baddass would make it happen hahaha. this is amazing, esp the releases with the sword handle. too much man...
@alvinhdavenport it's both. those big pants(hakama) are very flexible to move around. when kneeling and stand up quickly during a sword fight and more.depends can't find word to explain it. but it does has advantage over tight pants.
omg i remember when i saw this. IT BLEW MY MIND. seriously, i dind't think anyone could beat Mark Clanazado-no idea how to spell it, forgive me - but this guy seriously owned ass.
@karatecat3 Not exactly... The hakama is a pair of samurai riding chaps that they would wear to protect the clothing underneath from dust and horse sweat. Nothing to do with hiding their footwork. It then became a part of training tradition.
I remember being there for this one as my first year competing at the Diamonds. I was so inspired by Kalman that night and wanted the same for myself! Unfortunately I only ever got close before my knees and back started to go bad because I was such a rough athlete. Now I work to rebuild myself and hope one day make my return and take back my fight song! (Btw, what songs did he use here?)
Congrats to Kalman for his excellent technique and concentration but this is something taken out of a manga cartoon. No sword expert would throw his sword in the air because he isn't a drum mayor. His sword is his life.
Wow those were some nice moves. Agreed with some people they would be impractical in a fight but then again you may end up scaring the opponent away with all the spins and such. The ONLY thing I have a problem with is the guys going "Let's go Kalman!" over and over again. Yeah cheer for the guy but don't say the same thing over and over again. The form though... awesome!
I dislike his use of bad posture to try and look "dramatic", and his hair bugs the crap out of me... but he's an excellent technician; that's quite the kata. unfortunately, I have to watch this with it muted so those my head doesn't explode from annoyance... sheesh! shut the hell up, spectators!
great display... but that's all.. display... lack of spirit and true swordsmanship. This is the real problem in how, especially USA, turned true art and culture into system and sport. Stripping down the spiritual and cultural lifestyle of those who in ancient times lived by the sword... and died by it. Again, very good for a sportsman, but not much for a true swordsman. When you learn to live and respect the art beyond a sport or a hobby then you will reach wholeness and perfection.
It seems that there are some cultures that spin swords, but Japanese samurai and martial artists never spin swords. This video is an insult to Japanese martial arts. Please use other tools instead of using katana and kimono.
just plain impressive and completly original... that was damn good
been in xtreme martial arts since 11 and this is by far best double sword kata(form)i've seen...nice
it was so entertaining listening to that guy's friends keep on cheering for him lol.
he's gotta have good friends

Kalman Csoka is the most talented Xtreme Swordsman I have ever seen. What an amazing form.

It was actually three, the last judge also went 10 but everyone was cheering so loud you could barely hear it.
tradition, samurais wore them so it would hide their footwork and make them look like they were floating.

so true
go kalman go!
yes
can't blame them cheering him on lol
@FnarEva i totally agree with you
wtf!!! how the hell do you get that imaginative.
GO KALMAN.
I don't know why so many people are hating on Kalman's friends. I'd love my friends to go crazy during my performance and GO KALMAN me.
music name ???

pretty cool
he looks like Tom Cruise from The Last Samurai with his long hair (:
A very spectacular duel katana form.

His sword is his life.
OOoooooooooh!!!
da real bladedancer :D
@panssi
Yeah...
It was a bit embarrassing to watch most of the time, but a few of the moves were extremely cool.
its not painted its just the lighing reflecting from the sword
ooooooohoooooooooo!!!!!1
Kalman is the shizzle lol

@meinfuhrerr Why is it a joke?
yeah they probably wouldn't think swords were so cool if they actually got cut with one
these things are funny lol. people play around with swords just like this at anime conventions XD
i wanna learn how to use double blades....T_T but im more of fighter and weps...but i wanna learn...:P
touche
Xtreme Jealousy right here.
go calvin D:
ya i bet its not good for his concentration
I'm waiting for someone to do this, have it slip out of their hands, and harpoon someone across the room.
if u use this acrobatical form or swordfighting, and i just stand still u have way too many openings.
I followed this from a website that claimed to teach Japanese marital arts. Bullshit-do as I call it.
I find Calman's friends extremely annoying. I wonder if what they were trying to achieve by screaming "let's go, calman," over and over again.
It was to hide footwork
all kids who is watching this rigth now, my advice go and learn some decent kendo, iaido or kenjutsu
xP lol
@Karateforlife777
u mad? :D
What I do with my time is my own business, and my father can't help his disorder.
VERY weak routine. Didnt do one thing with his left hand.
