I’ve suffered with insomia for 6 years since my mother passed and your music has allowed to me to find a certain type of peace in not blaming myself for things I can’t change. Made me realise it’s ok to not be ok and perfect.
Nope, that can’t and will not ever happen!!! The reason being that this man has a very special brain and a unique way of thinking and processing/projecting his own thoughts and feelings in a way none of these so called “pop/rap/rock stars “ we hear on the mainstream media and everywhere possible, they have a team of people who have each got their own individual jobs , one writes, composes music or buys beats, one plays the instruments, not to mention how many producers, editors then there’s the big label splashing the cash to make the “singer “ look “good “ and spend insane amount of money on videos and they publicity... I can go on but you get the picture... then there’s Ren who does all that and more on his own and no autotune/makeup etc, he is naturally gifted and talented and he performs with every cell of his body and his words and work are true to him and many, he’s a real artist and he will never sell out because then he will never be able to be true to himself! I keep coming back to this song... Im a schizophrenic, and j feel so hopeless and alone. But this song reminds me im not alone. Honestly, i only come back to this on low nights. But on those low nights it gives me skme solace. Thank you ren, for making this. The fact that medication cant fix us, but can help, stands strong in this. I wish there was a pill that would make it all go away, but no such thing exists. It just makes me feel less alone.
He is not so small: If you watch some of the "big push" live gigs and compare Ren to the others you realize that his height is pretty average, ok.. I find the door myself :D

This means a hell of a lot to those of us who have incurable health issues. I have endometriosis but didn’t get diagnosed until 27, lots of pills and lots of feeling not myself. Feeling angry and trapped in a prison. 3 major surgeries but I’m still here. This really resonates with me, such a beautiful song that really sums up all the things that come with long term serious health problems.
My best friend killed himself last month and I can't do anything else but hear him say those words while I listen to yours! And somehow, it helps me. Thank you! Christmas time is Ren time. Also if I can give my interpretation of what this song is about , I would probably say it's about a policeman or just a citizen who lives or works in a poverty striken part of London. And his only escape from this melancholic and unsatisfying life is the use of narcotics. The citizen is slowly falling down a downhill spiral of drug abuse, but he doesn't care if he has atleast a smile on his face. So he sings this song, or better said help message, with the hope that it reaches someone who might can help him out of this personal hell. It's probably BS and it's about something much different, but hey songs are like paintings or other forms of art: they are meant to be viewed from your personal view.
The success of this song (IDK how commercial, but it's in MY top 3, either before or after Hi Ren) is the raw honesty. We live in a world where everything is made to look perfect, however little substance. And along comes a tune where everything is substance, delivered with astounding skill by both performers... appearance of perfection be damned. Finding substance in this day and age is so rare... Ren & Chinchilla, thank you for delivering. It actually moves me, internally, like someone is taking a miniature bulldozer to my guts and brain and shifting them around as I listen. Especially when I hear "in the gallows, balanced on my toes so I can breathe"... Got me right in the feels, because I feel that. Amazing art, please don't stop.

Being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder with a long history of cutting/suicide actions, Social Anxiety Disorder, ADHD/ADD, and PTSD. I just feel really connected to your styles of work/music. You are a amazingly talented artists across a number of areas. I wish I was younger and actually knew you. Alas, its just wishful thinking. I started showing signs of my various issues at age 13 waaaaaaayyyyyy back in 87/88 and wish I could of shown some improvements but it was not to stay consistent. Last count on scars, well stopped counting tbh at around 300+ but having stumbled upon you one night I've been going down the rabbit hole since. Just thank you for being you.

I think the most intriguing aspect with Ren is he doesn't try to be overly mysterious with his lyrics, beats and notes. He is profound without the bleeding heart BS of nearly every modern artist. You know exactly the emotions he represents. No camouflage, just pure exposed heart.

This means a hell of a lot to those of us who have incurable health issues. I have endometriosis but didn’t get diagnosed until 27, lots of pills and lots of feeling not myself. Feeling angry and trapped in a prison. 3 major surgeries but I’m still here. This really resonates with me, such a beautiful song that really sums up all the things that come with long term serious health problems.

My best friend killed himself last month and I can't do anything else but hear him say those words while I listen to yours! And somehow, it helps me. Thank you! I know he liked your music and he was feeling a connection to what he's been through with your experience and how you portray it! And yeah... I rediscovered you with your new music "Hi Ren" and I cried so much as I was seeing him in those lines and I couldn't wonder anything else but did he had the time to see this music before he left because if he did, I'm sure he loved it and if he didn't, I'm sure he would have love it!
I know, for him, it was a question of when rather than if. But I miss him and I'm glad to hear, as you said it in the replay of the live you did to explain Hi Ren, that you're feeling better and that you're happy now! You don't have the same illnesses as he did but the feeling can still be here when you're feeling down like that!!!

Also if I can give my interpretation of what this song is about , I would probably say it's about a policeman or just a citizen who lives or works in a poverty striken part of London. And his only escape from this melancholic and unsatisfying life is the use of narcotics. The citizen is slowly falling down a downhill spiral of drug abuse, but he doesn't care if he has atleast a smile on his face. So he sings this song, or better said help message, with the hope that it reaches someone who might can help him out of this personal hell.
It's probably BS and it's about something much different, but hey songs are like paintings or other forms of art: they are meant to be viewed from your personal view.

The success of this song (IDK how commercial, but it's in MY top 3, either before or after Hi Ren) is the raw honesty. We live in a world where everything is made to look perfect, however little substance. And along comes a tune where everything is substance, delivered with astounding skill by both performers... appearance of perfection be damned.

I think the most intriguing aspect with Ren is he doesn't try to be overly mysterious with his lyrics, beats and notes. He is profound without the bleeding heart BS of nearly every modern artist. You know exactly the emotions he represents. No camouflage, just pure exposed heart.
